The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

This is the first time Meng Yunzheng met Wan Yan, though he had heard a bit about him before.

Shu Yu was the one who mentioned it, mainly when talking about Madam Hou, she also mentioned those things about the Wan Family.

Meng Yunzheng knows that Wan Yan and Madam Hou’s relationship isn’t particularly good, but they haven’t become enemies either. It seems they have found a mode of peaceful coexistence that doesn’t interfere with each other.

Not sure whether to say Madam Hou is formidable or Lord Wan is impressive.

”Sit.” Meng Yunzheng had tea brought up and sat opposite Wan Yan, asking curiously, ”What’s happened to you, Young Master Wan? Have you been injured?”

”It’s nothing, I’ve been on the road these past few days, sitting in the carriage has made my legs and feet stiff. I didn’t pay attention when climbing the mountain just now and took a fall. It’s no big deal.”

The attendant student behind him pursed his lips tightly and said nothing.

Meng Yunzheng frowned upon hearing that, ”A fall can be minor or major, if you injure a bone, that would be bad.”

The attendant student quickly lifted his head, looking eagerly at Meng Yunzheng.

Meng Yunzheng, ”...” His mouth twisted, quickly understanding the attendant student’s thoughts, and he straightforwardly said, ”Fortunately, the academy has a doctor. I’ll have someone call him over to check on you. If it’s really nothing, then I can also be at ease.”

The academy is equipped with a doctor, but it’s not Zhao Xi. He has a medical clinic running in Jiangyuan County, how could he possibly have time to be a school doctor here? He occasionally comes up the mountain to give lectures on medical knowledge to the students.

As for the doctor in the academy, he was originally a pharmacist from Zhao Xi’s clinic. This pharmacist has good learning ability in this area and is very diligent. Plus, during the half year that Zhao Xi went to the capital, Elder Zhao has been overseeing the clinic, guiding the pharmacist for a while.

Although he has studied medical skills for a short time, it’s not a big issue for him to deal with minor injuries and pains at the academy.

Meng Yunzheng called for the doctor to come over, and Wan Yan didn’t object.

While waiting for the person to come over, Meng Yunzheng asked about his purpose for coming, ”Young Master Wan, does Lord Wan know about your visit to Dongan Province?”

Wan Yan, ”...”

The attendant student secretly gave Meng Yunzheng a thumbs up, Master Top Scorer truly lives up to his name, the first question is already so direct.

Wan Yan laughed dryly, ”I came this time mainly to deliver a letter to Aunt Hou.”

Seeing that he didn’t answer directly, Meng Yunzheng knew that Lord Wan definitely didn’t know. Why else would delivering a letter need him to personally come? Doesn’t the Wan Family have enough resources?

Moreover, if he were delivering a letter to Aunt Hou, he should be directly heading to Jiangyuan County to find her, why come to his academy?

He just smiled without speaking, and Wan Yan knew he had been seen through. He coughed lightly, ”I’m indeed not lying, look, here’s the letter? Sent from the southwest.”

He directly took the letter from his sleeve and handed it forward, showing he was indeed not lying, just that the priorities were altered.

”Southwest?” Meng Yunzheng wasn’t interested in Aunt Hou’s letter, but he was sensitive to the words ’southwest,’ especially at such a critical moment.

The southwest side sent a letter to Aunt Hou at this time?

For some reason, he started feeling uneasy.

Meng Yunzheng’s expression didn’t change, he simply said, ”I believe you. Coincidentally, Aunt Hou is at the manor at the foot of the mountain, enjoying flowers with my wife. I see your legs and feet aren’t well for descending, I’ll have someone help deliver it for you.”

”Thank you, Mountain Master Meng.”
