The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Meng Qi and Gan Rui opened the door, each standing on one side and pulling the door wide open, revealing Meng Yunzheng standing inside with the two teachers, the two Lords, and Master Wen along with the others from the academy.

The people outside immediately stood up straighter, all wanting to push forward.

But halfway through, they suddenly remembered where they were and who they were facing. Quickly stopping, they were afraid of leaving a bad impression on the academy’s teachers and immediately cupped their hands, saying, ”Mountain Master Meng, greetings to the teachers.”

One person led, and the others followed suit. Even those who were unfamiliar mimicked the gesture.

Meng Yunzheng stepped through the door with a smile and said, ”Thank you all for waiting. On the day of the academy’s founding, there are many affairs demanding attention. Apologies for any negligence.”

”Mountain Master Meng, you are too kind.”

Everyone waved their hands repeatedly, and some who met Meng Yunzheng for the first time couldn’t help but marvel — Top Scholar Meng indeed was young, yet this young man, standing before two teachers and two Lords, didn’t seem overshadowed at all.

Meng Yunzheng reached the doorway and raised his hand in a gesture to the two teachers, ”The hours have arrived, please unveil the curtain.”

Mr. Huai’an smiled and shook his head, ”Zhenglu Academy was founded by Mountain Master Meng himself, so naturally, the unveiling should be done by you. The two of us, relying on age, have already been granted much care by the Mountain Master.”

”Indeed, the curtain should be unveiled by Mountain Master Meng and the magistrate,” Mr. Hejiang agreed.

Upon hearing this, Meng Yunzheng didn’t decline further. He was the master of the academy, and the magistrate represented the official endorsement; it was indeed appropriate for them to unveil it together.

He smiled and invited Lord Fei.

Then he looked at Meng Qi, who was holding a lighter in one hand and firecrackers in the other. At Meng Yunzheng’s signal, he quickly lit the firecrackers.

The onlookers hurriedly stepped back a few paces.

The ’crackling’ sound echoed through the open academy gates, amidst the clapping and cheers, Meng Yunzheng and Lord Fei grabbed the corners of the silk cloth and pulled down sharply.

The silk fluttered down, revealing the dignified and grand yet subtly free-spirited four characters — Zhenglu Academy — alongside the Emperor’s seal.

The crowd gulped hard; this truly was inscribed by the Emperor’s own hand.

The sound of firecrackers continued, and applause didn’t cease for a long time.

Eventually, the vast mountain forest finally quieted down.

Meng Yunzheng stepped forward and announced loudly, ”Zhenglu Academy, officially established today!!”

’Clap, clap, clap’ applause thundered, and congratulatory voices were endless.

When the applause subsided, Meng Yunzheng spoke, ”On the founding day of Zhenglu Academy, thank you all for coming to support. The academy will be open to the public all day; anyone who wishes to visit may enter. Tea and snacks are prepared inside. At the fourth quarter of the hour in the evening, the academy gates will close and lock, so please don’t miss the hours.”

”Of course, the most important thing today is admissions. Anyone interested in attending the academy should proceed to the right. We have students to guide you to the first Taoli Hall on the right. There, someone will explain the specific rules of admission. Those who qualify can confirm their enrollment date today.”

Someone in the crowd hurriedly asked, ”Mountain Master Meng, I heard there would be job recruitment today. Where should those who want to work go?”

”Yes, yes, is there recruitment today?”
