The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Shu Yu’s gaze fell on the letter, ”Not just that, if you say Fang Xiyue and the others are guarding against the Shu family and refuse to disclose my address, then Shu Quan could have sent the letter to Dongqing Temple. They could find me more easily than you.”

Madam Hou frowned, ”Then why did he...”

”Because you are now part of the Wan Family, and Lord Wan is an imperial court official. This letter mentions not only my matters but also the Second Prince. If you inform Lord Wan about this, it’s a matter related to the remnants of the Second Prince. Lord Wan will surely report it to the emperor. In this way, if the imperial court sends someone to the southwest to investigate and finds that the remnants of the Second Prince really exist, then Shu Quan will have made great contributions, and naturally be rewarded. He can also take the opportunity to completely sever ties with Shu Feng, ensuring that whatever Shu Feng does in the future won’t implicate the second house.”

Shu Yu sneered, ”Do you think the only ones who dislike me are the people from the main house? The second house hates me too, like gnashing their teeth. If this matter had nothing to do with the Second Prince, Shu Quan wouldn’t have written such a letter to tip me off. He can’t wait for Shu Feng and me both to suffer losses.”

Informing her was just incidental.

Shu Quan probably doesn’t yet know she is now a county magistrate.

Luckily, Madam Hou was brought back to the capital by Lord Wan, otherwise Shu Yu wouldn’t have had the chance to see this letter.

Madam Hou rubbed her temples, ”Those people from the Shu family, even at this critical juncture, still resort to schemes. Yu, what are your plans now? The southwest... is definitely a trap, and if you go, you’d be falling into it.”

”I know, Aunt Hou, you don’t need to worry. I’ll keep this letter with me for now. I want to go up the mountain to discuss with Yun.”

Madam Hou nodded continuously, ”Yes, yes, ask Yunzheng’s opinion. He is well-informed in this area and knows more about court affairs. Go find him quickly.”

Shu Yu put away the letter without delay, grabbed half a watermelon, and was ready to leave.

Before leaving, she seemed to remember something and said to Madam Hou, ”Don’t mention the contents of this letter to anyone else. If others ask about Young Master Wan delivering a letter, just say it was sent by an old acquaintance from the courier station.”

Madam Hou’s expression was serious, ”Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”

Fortunately, now on this manor, it was just her and Madam Hou, even Xia Yan and Ying Xi were consciously waiting outside the hall.

Shu Yu nodded, packed up her things, and, with Xia Yan and Ying Xi, headed straight to Zhenglu Academy up the mountain.

Meng Yunzheng had just finished a meeting and was about to inquire about Wan Yan’s situation when he saw Shu Yu hurriedly approaching.

Seeing her arriving with such urgency, he immediately thought of the letter he had asked Xia Yan to send down the mountain not long ago, his heart tightened, and he quickly stepped forward and whispered, ”Is there a problem with the letter from the southwest?”

”Yes, let’s talk inside.” Shu Yu nodded her head and returned to his residence with Meng Yunzheng.

Then she showed him the letter, and after reading it, his brows furrowed tightly.

”Shu Feng is involved in the Second Prince’s affairs again? He’s really capable of causing trouble.”

Shu Yu, ”From being favored by the heavens to a prisoner with a ruined family, he naturally isn’t reconciled. If he could wait for a universal amnesty, there might still be a glimmer of hope, but since the new emperor ascended the throne, there hasn’t been even a small-scale pardon in these years. He feels the road ahead is dark. If someone approaches him at this time, he would naturally be willing to take a gamble.”
