The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

”How do you mean? I just heard yesterday that the new top scorer opened an academy here, so I hurried over to take a look but don’t understand the inner workings. Tell me about it carefully.”

Others who were not entirely aware also gathered around. They saw the person glance at the plaque covered with red silk at the top of the gate, ”See that? Do you know whose writing is on that plaque?”

”Who?”

”The current emperor.”

’Ah!’ someone gasped in surprise. Honestly, among them, indeed, some heard about Meng Yunzheng opening the academy and wanted to come and see the new top scorer. Others were passing by and saw a large crowd heading this way, so they followed out of curiosity.

Upon hearing that the newly opened academy even received the emperor’s endorsement, they suddenly felt the institution was elevated.

No wonder even the magistrate and county magistrate came.

The person said, ”Besides anything else, with the emperor’s endorsement, and two lords participating in its founding, this academy is officially recognized by the authorities. At the very least, it’s more reliable than those private schools.”

Another person squeezed in, dressed as a scholar, ”Not only that, there are three things you definitely don’t know. I come from the capital, and the matter of Top Scholar Meng resigning to open an academy and become a teacher was very sensational in the capital for quite a while.”

The others eagerly asked, ”Tell us, what are the other three things?”

”Firstly, this academy has two teachers.”

Several people nearby happened to know this, ”I know this, they are both great scholars, and one was introduced to Top Scholar Meng by the emperor.” Those who knew explained the backgrounds of the two great scholars to the uninformed ones, causing a series of exclamations of surprise.

The scholar said, ”Secondly, the famous Mr. Shanju painted a piece, which is the vision of Zhenglu Academy, and reportedly he even stayed at the academy for some time.”

Some were very confused, as the ordinary folks were genuinely unaware of Mr. Shanju.

The scholar continued, ”The most sensational is the third thing.”

He kept them in suspense, and once everyone held their breath, he said, ”The third is that Mountain Master Meng pledged a military order in the hall to the emperor. In three years, Zhenglu Academy will produce five Advanced Scholars. Five, think about how difficult that is.”

This indeed shocked many who hadn’t heard about it, and those listening nearby widened their eyes in disbelief.

Five, that’s quite a lot.

The scholar detailed the contents of the military order and finally summarized, ”So, if one can now enter Zhenglu Academy, one must seize this opportunity. If the academy produces Advanced Scholars in the future, it will be difficult to get in. Moreover, if it really nurtures five Advanced Scholars, the students from the same academy would have strong connections, and their future prospects wouldn’t be bad.”

His words struck a chord, and those originally just joining the hustle were now considering transferring.

Some were already rubbing their hands, ready to rush in as soon as the gates opened.

Seeing everyone engaged in conversation, the scholar smiled and quietly withdrew from the crowd, concealing his contributions wisely as he went back inside the academy.

When the auspicious time arrived, the crowd was just starting to get a little impatient when suddenly the gate made a ’creak’ sound.

Soon, the gap in the middle of the gate widened, and the light inside grew brighter, gradually revealing one figure, two figures.
