The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1013: Chapter 1013: Who Dares to be so Bold

The old lady is quite spirited now. She spends a lot of time with Ah Ning, and every day after learning medicine, Ah Ning chatters on and on to her like a little chatterbox.

The old lady is quite annoyed, but after listening for so long, she started to take it to heart.

She understands some basic pharmacology and medical principles better than most people now, and under Hua Xian’s care, she’s starting to walk down the path of health preservation.

She sneers at Madam Li’s behavior of not knowing a single big character yet pretending to understand.

Lanhua and Erniu nodded repeatedly as they listened. Although they didn’t say it out loud, they knew that their mother’s ways weren’t quite right.

After the old lady finished complaining about Madam Li, she asked them, ”Why did you come to the county town as well?”

Erniu grinned, showing a row of teeth, ”I came to find Dahu to ask about my schooling.”

The private school Erniu originally attended regretted their decision and wanted him to return. But it’s not just about their regret; if Erniu wants to study again, he has to find a new place and definitely won’t eat the grass that was reversed.

When Dahu returned to Shangshi Village earlier and was playing and fooling around with Erniu, he heard about this matter. At that moment, he said he’d ask Master Wen when he got back. If everything goes well, they might become classmates.

Last time, Shu Yu brought this news back to Erniu, but nowadays it’s farming season. There are also several peasant children at Master Wen’s school, so they naturally take a break for the farming season.

For an entire month, the school didn’t open its gates, except for Dahu who went to the southwest, using the excuse of falling behind in his studies to consult Master Wen. That’s why he reported to his home every day.

But not only has his schoolwork advanced rapidly, he’s developed his own study methods, surprising Master Wen immensely. Now, Master Wen has assigned him a new range of books to learn.

Erniu came today just to ask Dahu about school enrollment matters, what he needs to prepare, when he should see the teacher, and when classes start.

After hearing this, the old lady happily said, ”Then you’ll have to wait a bit longer; he’ll be back after noon.”

Erniu waved his hand, ”No worries, I’ll stroll around nearby.”

”Don’t go too far, and come back quickly if anything happens.”

When the old lady saw him running out, she immediately cautioned, and after Erniu agreed, he ran off.

The old lady shook her head and then asked Lanhua, ”And what about you?”

”I missed you all, and since Father had to come to the county town on business, I decided to come along for a visit.”

She had initially stayed at her elder sister Cuihua’s house for two days due to problems with her former fiancé’s harassment, but Cuihua’s in-laws had too many people crowded into a small courtyard, making it impossible to stay.

Fortunately, after Yu returned to Shangshi Village, the man surnamed Ge dared not visit again, and she went back home.

But even at home, there’s no peace during this busy farming time, and still a lot of matchmakers came knocking, which was really bothersome.

She just wanted to get out and get some fresh air to adjust her mood.

After saying this, Lanhua looked up at Shu Yu, who was busy with accounts, and thought about how Shu Yu was a few months older than her. She curiously asked, ”Yu, do you also have many matchmakers coming to visit you?”

Shu Yu looked up and said, ”Hmm?” with a sound. ”I’ve never encountered a matchmaker.”

That’s not right; she did encounter Ding Yuehua, who liked matchmaking.

Lanhua widened her eyes, ”No way!”

She looked to the old lady, ”Grandmother, hasn’t anyone tried to match up with Sister Yu?”

”Oh, there are, but your Sister Yu is so busy, always outside, of course she hasn’t seen matchmakers.”

This made Shu Yu curious, ”Grandmother, who would dare be so bold?”
