The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1009: Chapter 1009: Speak of Cao Cao and Cao Cao Arrives

Originally, Shuyou had been through a separation, and on such a joyous day, it wasn’t considered appropriate for her to do bridal makeup, as some would view it as unlucky.

But others said that Miss Lu was the sister of Monarch Lu Xiang.

Even after separating, she remained a fortunate person. Haven’t you noticed how, since her separation, her life has only gotten better? The business she manages is thriving more and more.

If this isn’t good fortune, then what is?

It just so happened that there were two supporters of Monarch Lu Xiang present on the spot, who offered their opinions one after another, leaving the bride intrigued.

The bride herself had never liked the bridal makeup prepared by the elders. It always involved whitening the face, adding rouge to the cheeks, applying lip color—what was meant to beautify ended up being rather frightening at a glance.

The bride certainly didn’t want to frighten her husband away. After a battle of inner struggle, she sought out Shuyou.

Having seen much of the world by now, Shuyou had become a bit more cautious.

She was concerned that if something went wrong after the bride’s wedding, the blame might fall on her. So, they signed a contract, treating the endeavor like a formal business transaction.

And believe it or not, this approach put people at ease even more.

As for how the bride convinced her family, the old lady didn’t know.

She only knew that Shuyou went to the bride’s house the next day. The makeup was done by her own hands, but the hairstyling was handled by Madam Quanfu, with Shuyou providing guidance beside her.

It was said that after the ceremony and upon entering the bridal chamber, the groom, in front of several onlookers, lifted the bride’s veil and was stunned on the spot. He couldn’t react for quite a while.

After that day, a few others came around looking to have Shuyou do their bridal makeup on their wedding day.

Shu Yu opened the registry book and indeed saw that two others were already recorded.

One was scheduled for a month later, and the other for half a year later.

The person registering today was set for two months later.

The old lady commented, ”The business at Yiren Pavilion is really booming, with many customers coming to buy clothes and others coming for makeup. The issue is that makeup takes quite a long time, and Ah You sometimes even has to go to customers’ homes to do it. In the future, I’m afraid she’ll become too busy to handle it all.”

Shu Yu thought for a moment. ”Grandmother, let’s bring Lanhua over.”

”Lanhua?”

Shu Yu nodded. ”I noticed last year that Lanhua has a knack for styling and enjoys it. Although no one has taught her, she’s tried to figure it out on her own.”

But since she grew up in the village and the farthest she’s been is Jiangyuan County, and even then only every few months, her exposure to things has been limited.

What she’s managed to figure out on her own is naturally limited as well.

The time she was most proud of was when she dressed up inspired by Shu Yu’s style during their visit to the peach forest.

Though the consequence was three young men vying for her attention while Third Uncle ended up being pushed into the water and soaked for half a day.

Nevertheless, it showed that Lanhua has real interest in this.

However, upon hearing this, the old lady frowned. ”Yu, you’ve already arranged for Daniu to work at the manor. That’s enough. You don’t need to take care of everyone.”

Shu Yu was momentarily stunned, then chuckled and said, ”Grandmother, what are you saying? Whether it’s Daniu or Lanhua, I’m only suggesting them because I think they’re suitable. It’s not about taking special care of anyone. Besides, Daniu was sent to the manor, which belongs to me, while this shop is managed by my eldest sister. Naturally, I would have to discuss this with her first.”

It’s just about using capable people—it doesn’t matter if they’re family or not, as long as they’re suitable.

The old lady thought this over and agreed. ”Then...”

Before she could finish her sentence, a cheerful voice called from outside the shop, ”Grandmother!”

Shu Yu looked up and chuckled, ”Speak of Cao Cao, and Cao Cao appears.”
