My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1944: Chapter 1738: Blurred

We both forgot how long we’ve been on this path. When time speaks the truth, after it’s dark, we still don’t know if there’s a future.

”I was too excessive before, that’s why I did such extreme things. How could I treat you all like that? After all, he will be my future father-in-law and mother-in-law. If I treat him this way and you don’t want to be with me, what should I do? I am just like this, foolish, and easily anger the people I love the most. I always like to push those who care about me away from my side...”

”Alright, the matter is already in the past, none of us should listen anymore. As long as we can continue to live lovingly together, that’s enough for us. Don’t think about those past matters that made us sad. People always have to look forward, not keep remembering the past. If a person can’t forget the pain brought by before, then they will never be able to move forward in life. Society is cruel, and fate is fair. As long as you’ve lost something, it will replenish you elsewhere. Isn’t there a saying that when fate closes one door for you, it opens a window elsewhere. It’s always balanced; it won’t suffocate you.”

”But I did so many things that hurt you before, and said so many hurtful words. Do you really not hate me at all?” Zhang Yichen couldn’t believe Ran Zhihan truly doesn’t hate him even a bit. He had done such hurtful things before. But now, the woman he loves takes such meticulous care of him. Is it really because of her love for me?

”Fool, why would I hate you? You’re my husband; I want to spend the rest of my life with you. If I choose to hate you, wouldn’t I be hurting myself? You’ve sacrificed so much for me, even refusing your parents at the door. I’m really grateful to you. But do you know? Although I’m grateful for what you did, I don’t agree with it. After all, they’re your parents. You can’t do that. As their child, no matter how parents sow discord among their children, regardless of the role they play in their nieces’ lives, children shouldn’t hate them or hurt them. Because parents are never wrong, and they only wish for their children to live happily. That’s the greatest hope for any parents. They don’t hope for wealth, nor that their son is handsome. They only hope that their son’s life is happy and joyful. That would be enough for them...”

”Maybe what you say is right. But I just can’t see as clearly as you. I’ve always thought my parents repeatedly hurt me, not out of love, but wanting to utterly ruin me. So whenever they do something that hurts me or hurts you, I can’t bear it and want to drive them out forever, never letting them step into my home. But sometimes, thinking back, maybe I was truly wrong. Just like you said, whatever parents do is out of wanting their children to be happy. How can I hate them for loving me? Before, I was indeed filled with hatred towards my parents, but now, I don’t hate them anymore. On the contrary, I’m quite grateful to them. If it weren’t for their repeated attempts at sowing discord between us, choosing to hurt one of us each time, neither of us would have thought we meant so much to each other. Don’t you agree?”

”What you just said is very true. It seems you’ve already thought it through. I heard your aunt and uncle have divorced. I don’t know why they chose to divorce, but I hope as their son, you can try to persuade them. Both are already middle-aged, and divorcing now isn’t good for either of them. They’ve lived together for decades, and their feelings must be deep. They shouldn’t give up easily over small things. It’s impractical, considering how they’ve been together for so long. If this were the case, who would dare to get married? Everyone would think, ”If someone’s feelings for over a decade can’t withstand tests, what’s the point of marriage?”

”It’s too late for me to say anything now; my parents already have their divorce certificate. They have no way back. You know my mother’s temper; she’s very stubborn. Once she makes a decision, even ten bulls couldn’t drag her back. Now that she’s made all the decisions, how could she turn back?” Zhang Yichen sighed; he truly felt helpless about these matters.

”I know; your aunt’s temper is indeed a bit too stubborn. Many times, your uncle can’t do anything about it, let alone you haven’t lived with her for years. But Yichen, have you ever thought about why a temper becomes so important? Is it truly natural for her to be stubborn? She’s just been through a lot and doesn’t want to be hurt by anyone anymore. She doesn’t want those she cares about to be hurt by others. So she has this stubborn temper. Maybe because of that stubbornness, none of you understand her. You always think she’s naturally temperamental, then why should I accommodate her? You’ve never thought about how lonely your aunt feels inside. Over these years, she’s been through so much alone, bearing the pain of missing her son and still having to smile in front of others. For a woman, isn’t this very painful?”

”Zhihan, I know you’re saying all this to cheer me up. But I really don’t want my mom to be hurt by anyone anymore. Watching her worry every day, I’m anxious internally. She could have continued living happily, but she chooses to cut off her future path. I don’t hope my mom sacrifices too much for me. I just want my mom to live safely and for her marriage to be happy. But because of me, my mom was hurt, and now she’s divorced. Her marriage is over.”

”Don’t be discouraged. I’ll find some time to persuade your aunt for you!”

I still remember holding hands with you, talking about being together forever, walking to the end, only to let everything change in the end.
