My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1936: Chapter 1731: Clouds

Watching the clouds in the sky drift towards me, my heart is filled with emotions!

Xiao Wei and the others still do not know about their sister’s situation. He thinks he must be living a happy life now, but how could he have imagined that so many accidents have happened to his sister during this period? Again and again, leading to his sister being insane, with no way to distinguish right from wrong. Even eating has become a major difficulty for her. If he knew, he would surely be deeply pained because, after all, that was the sister who had accompanied him through many years.

He has always wanted to return home to accompany his sister, to see how she is doing now, but he is constantly tied down by his wife. He cannot disappoint his wife; she knows her expectations for him.

In the past, he could live as he pleased without a care, but now he cannot. He has his own family, with responsibilities he must shoulder. He should change for his family, rather than being as reckless as he was before, doing everything he wanted. Otherwise, the result would only be distancing his loved ones. All he wants is for his family to be permanently by his side, which is perhaps the most precious wish of those who have settled down!

”You’re here to tell me now that it’s my fault for my mother ending up like this. Even if something happened, can’t I step away for a moment? I admit that I was negligent, that I didn’t expect my mother to end up like this, which is also a pain for me. I never wanted this; I never thought about having to guard him constantly in this way. If he were conscious, he would feel it as a huge pain. He never endured such pain, and now he has to bear it all alone. In the end, this is a burden placed on him by all of us together.

Do you have your own matters to attend to? I know you care about your career and this family; do you think I don’t care? He is my biological mother, and I wish for her health and safety above all else at all times. But there are things beyond my control. Everything I do only ends in unbearable pain for myself, with no one caring about what I think inside. I keep asking myself what all my sacrifices are for. To this day, you haven’t told your uncle; are you afraid he’ll come back to accuse you?

If your sister knew that you intended to kick Grandma out because of our mother’s situation, do you think your uncle would agree? Would he continue to trust you from deep within?

You, more than anyone, understand that you need your uncle’s trust because of the power he holds. Even though he left the underworld years ago, he still has connections, and his network remains strong. You’re afraid to offend him repeatedly; you hesitate to kick your mom out because of him. Yet you want to blame me for everything; I’m not foolish enough to take the blame for you.

As for my grandmother, I think you should communicate with them properly. Regardless of their purpose for returning home, since they chose to return, they should stay calmly and not cause any more trouble. That would only harm everyone with no benefit, and hurting everyone entirely would only lead to regret without any forgiveness for past mistakes. Everyone has their own matters to handle, and they must face the consequences of their own actions.

Even if I’m uncertain whether my mother’s condition today is related to them, even if not directly, there is still an indirect link. If not for their return, how could my mother end up neglected? All these years, you know full well how my mother was to you at heart. You betrayed her trust, putting her in the most awkward situation, making it impossible for her to get along with you, which is why she became increasingly withdrawn.”

”Even if all these so-called issues are solely due to me, shouldn’t you reflect on whether there is indeed no problem within your heart? She is your mother; she is only my wife. Do I not have my salary to earn?

I should take care of her, understand her, and accompany her; I should not neglect her. But you, as her son, whom she endured labor pains to bring into the world, you, as her child, cannot be with her every day. How can you then expect me to do so?

Don’t you need to eat? Doesn’t your grandpa need to come home to enjoy some happiness? Doesn’t great-grandpa hope for us all to have our own work and flourish? Everyone has different expectations for everyone else, like my expectation for you: as long as you are happy, even if you achieve nothing, I am still happy and willing. I am willing to give you all my wealth, so you live a life free from want. Would you accept that?

Needless to say, you wouldn’t, because such a life is like a puppet, being scolded behind your back as a useless person. You wouldn’t want that life, let alone expect me to endure such pressure again. Why would you want me to bear the pain I’ve already endured again, and force me to enjoy being gossiped about every day as a useless person, someone abandoned by their parents?

Can we each consider things from the other’s perspective?

If you find this truly frustrating, we could alternate shifts. Whoever is on duty to watch your mother must not leave, no matter what, even if the sky falls. If you can do that, then I will accept your opinion without complaint. I will stay here and keep watch, but I can’t be the only one doing it while you focus on your own matters. Wouldn’t that mean my company and its thousands of employees would end up starving, and could my company stop functioning?

Can all my money fall into my pockets like pies from the sky?”

After Ran Zhihan lost her memory, she didn’t know where she was, what she was doing, or what she had been through, just as pure and spotless as a cloud!
