My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1846: Chapter 1640: Preparation

My love for you, whether it’s the belated happiness or the warmth I’ve found, in my heart, you are always the strongest person. No matter when you can return to my side, I can never forget the tomorrow with you.

Ran Zhihan spent a long time accompanying Old Master Zhang in the hospital. He felt that no matter what, his grandfather had always considered life from his perspective, and he had worried too much about his marriage.

As a junior, how could I repeatedly let my grandfather worry himself sick over me while I just stand by indifferently? How could I truly merit being his grandchild? How could I deserve the care and love my grandfather showers upon me?

He was already aging, and if I didn’t accompany him well now, perhaps one day he would suddenly leave me, never to return. If that moment came, how regretful would I feel? This is the grandfather who has loved me for so many years. Whether he is really my biological grandfather or not, he has always treated me as his own granddaughter. There is no reason for me not to accompany him, not to take care of him. As a normal person, as a sensible person, how could I let my grandfather bear so much hardship while I stand by helplessly?

When Old Master Zhang knew that his granddaughter-in-law was accompanying him day and night in the hospital, just to take care of his daily needs.

His heart was indescribably happy and excited. He knew that now his grandson’s family marriage was finally happy, and they could return to the days of happiness and joy, no longer torn apart by any torment. This was the best comfort for him. She was like a clingy girlfriend, only wanting her children and grandchildren to live happily. Even if he worries day and night, even if he never has any happy days again, his heart is still happy.

”Zhihan, thank you, Grandpa thanks you for being willing to stay by this old man’s side for so long. I know my health is declining day by day, but now I feel I am in good spirits, precisely because you are by my side. Grandpa feels the sunshine of happiness, it’s you who let grandpa experience what it means to enjoy his old age. I have no regrets now. If I were to leave this world right now, I wouldn’t have any regrets. The only thing I’m worried about is my grandson and you. I want to see your family live happily!

Grandpa knows you really hope your child won’t have to continue with the rigorous training because, as a mother, seeing your child hurt time and again, covered in wounds, your heart must be in so much pain. But this world is cruel, there’s no way to return everything to its original state. Since he chose this path, he must see it through to the end!

I, like you, can’t bear to see him hurt time after time. But since he has chosen this path, since he has become one of the Zhang Family, he must bear the pain and torments that not everyone might endure, this is what it means to be a true member of the Zhang Family. I know, maybe saying this makes you feel uncomfortable, but you must accept this fact.”

Ran Zhihan nodded, knowing that this was an immutable fact, and there was no point in insisting on changing it, which he simply couldn’t do.

”Grandpa, I know, I understand everything you’re saying is for my good. I also know that the words you’re saying are to console me, but I still want my child to live a peaceful life. As a mother, seeing my own son’s hands covered in blood while he is in the room applying medicine, while I, as a mother, can only hide in the corner and secretly watch without daring to come out, fearing my child might suffer harm, who can understand the torment and pain in a mother’s heart?”

”I know, I know what you’re doing is justifiable, but children must experience setbacks and difficulties to grow up gradually. Only by growing up through hardships can they become the strongest individuals. Do you know? I don’t know how to console you, but I really hope you understand that your child is the strongest person, he can rely on his efforts to step by step rise to the top, he can reach all his goals without relying on anyone. You shouldn’t hinder his progress, but unconditionally support him, allowing him to attack fully in the direction he wishes to go!

You should also know what hardships and pain your husband has gone through. He also doesn’t want his child to suffer these pains again. But there is no one on Earth who is perfect, and no one can be flawless. There will always be something that makes everyone’s view different; you should understand each other rather than argue again and again, which has no effect and does not relieve the issue!

As a parent, no one can watch their child get hurt and remain unmoved. If there are such parents, it only proves they have no love for their child at all. But you are different, and our family is different, we are a wealthy family, many covet our industry with hungry eyes. You should know that a single careless moment might lead others to devour us completely. Do you really wish someday for your child, once everyone in our family has left this world, to be trampled on by others without any ability to retaliate?

I believe you don’t want to see such a thing happen either, but the stronger our family’s pride, the more it proves our family’s position is secure. No one has the right to deprive someone of such a life; we should allow him to grow happily and live without worries his whole life. At least now, the childhood he’s living is a path he chose himself, and he will not regret it. We should let him understand, that once some decisions are made, there is no room for regret!”

”Grandpa, I also know that once some decisions are made, there is no room for regret, but he is still my child. I really cannot let him train arduously there while I, as a mother, can only watch from behind...”

Thinking back on how difficult it was to reach today step by step, no one expected it would ultimately come to this situation. How long will it be before my happiness arrives?
