My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1821: Chapter 1615: Touch

Perhaps I am the person you only think of when you’re at your loneliest and most helpless, but who knows that I’m constantly thinking of you, hoping you can stay by my side.

”Mom, do you want my dad to wake up now? If that’s what you truly wish, if there’s even a trace of guilt in your heart for him, then please stay by his side and never think of anyone else. Don’t bring up these matters in front of him again.

You should know how humiliating it is for a man to have his wife secretly harbor feelings for another. Yet he is willing to set aside all his shame to be with you, proving his deep and genuine love for you. Why can’t you put aside some of your own prejudices for him?

Perhaps you are the only one who can wake him up now. I’ve been by his side calling out for so many days and nights, but he hasn’t moved a finger. I don’t know how to make him care for me even a little. Perhaps only you can wake him up. When you’re better, talk to him, and maybe the outcome will be different!”

Xia Jing knew what her son said was true because she understood her husband’s place in her heart.

All she wanted now wasn’t much, just for her husband to wake up, and that would be enough for her. Maybe she should really think it through; if she were still the same as before, how could she reach the end?

”Child, I know deep down you still hate me, because it’s because of me that your father ended up like this. How can you not hate me at all? But I understand.

After all, what I’ve done is unforgivable. I’ve hurt you repeatedly. How can I expect your forgiveness over and over again? You’re not a saint; you can’t forgive me time and time again.

Child, please rest assured, this time no matter what, I will stay by your father’s side. I won’t leave.

I know you want your father to wake up, and so do I. But some things can’t be forced. Like you said, if he really wakes up now, I am willing to stay and never leave him again in this lifetime. Yet, I don’t ask for much; all I want is his sincerest affection.

If I really can wake him up this time, then trust me, I will never leave him again in this life. I, too, am human, and I also want the kind of love I desire in the depths of my heart. I hope to stay by his side; I just want what I truly desire.”

”Since you say so, I’ll trust you once more. Remember what you said today; no matter what happens, you must stay by his side. If you ever think of leaving him and abandoning us like before, do you think I would still stand by your side as I do now? I wouldn’t. Although I’ve let go of the past hatred of your abandonment, it doesn’t mean I can forgive you for repeatedly hurting my family. I, too, am human. Seeing my family hurt, I feel pain. Seeing my family turn against each other is a blow to me as well. You always consider your immediate interests but forget how to give your family a proper reason throughout your life.”

”Child, believe me this time, I certainly won’t act like before. If you’re willing to trust me, I can give up everything. I truly understand now; he’s lying there between life and death, and while I’m awake, this kind of pain in a partnership for decades is undeniable. I, too, want him to live happily and joyfully!”

Zhang Yichen knew his mother wasn’t lying this time, because in her heart, his father still held a place. If one day his father really met with an accident and left this world, how could his mother not feel the pain deep inside?

All he did was driven by sharp words, hoping his family could be safe together. He just wanted his mother to stay beside his father, giving him a chance at life. Why must he press them like before? If that’s the case, how can they be happy together?

As long as his father could come back to life, as long as his mother no longer acted on a whim like before, he wouldn’t hate them even if they abandoned him again. But if they truly can’t stay with him, even if this weighs on his heart, he can’t forgive. He truly wishes they could be safe. As a child, if his family can be happy, isn’t that a kind of happiness?

”Mom, all that you’ve said today, I hope you can engrave in your heart. These words have been imprinted in mine. No matter what, I won’t forget what you’ve said today. But consider this: since you’ve made this decision today, it means you’ll never have any chance to change this decision in your lifetime. If you regret it by then, I won’t show mercy. Everything I do is not for anything else, but for everyone’s happiness. If you repeatedly treat family members as dispensable tools, using them again and again, I won’t hesitate to shut you out!

Since you’ve decided to make amends, be sure to do what you should. The most important thing now is to take good care of your health, then stay with my dad, speak with him a little every day, and see if you can wake him. I believe you can bring him a miracle because in his heart, only you exist. He never cared about what he wanted deep down. Each time, all he wants is you, while you chose to hurt him again and again, treating his love for you as a tool to be used repeatedly!”

Unknowingly, I once ignored all boundaries because of you, keeping deep in my heart all such love. I know some people are beyond my reach, and it’s a pity that my love for you almost ended because of your departure.
