My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1815: Chapter 1609: Rainy Day

All of our efforts are like folded paper airplanes, encountering a rainy day, all of this is bound to fall.

After Zhang Yichen heard what her mother said, she didn’t know what decision to make. She understood that her mother’s words were for her own good. During the time they returned, many unpleasant things had happened at home, and everything was related to them. When she felt again and again that there was no way to solve all of this, she was actually also bewildered and scared deep down inside. She was constantly thinking about how she should tidy up this mess, afraid of facing her parents repeatedly causing destruction and causing unmeasurable harm and pain to her family. She truly didn’t know what choice was the most correct solution.

But if she really had to harden her heart and drive her parents out of the house, she really couldn’t do it anymore. A few years ago, she might have made such a heartless decision without hesitation. They had never explained all the misunderstandings to her clearly, and she was still misunderstanding them at that moment. Every decision she made wasn’t for them at all, but now all misunderstandings had been cleared up one by one. If she were to make a decision like she did a few years ago again, she didn’t know how the world would see her as a son.

Perhaps she really should think of a win-win solution, ensuring that no one in the family would feel sad or lost because of their existence, and there would be no conflicts or quarrels because of them. While all of this existed in this world, her innermost self truly felt pain and bewilderment, but when everything faced her mind, she truly thought about how to make all of this seem like it never happened at all.

But now everything has turned into what it is now. If she just thinks about avoiding it, without thinking of solutions or discussing strategies to make these things not happen again, who knows what will happen to her in this world. When everything turned into a result she least wanted to see in this lifetime, perhaps everything long ago had already turned into the past, into an insubstantial thing. Maybe she was indeed a ruthless and heartless person as the world said, but hadn’t she hoped for her family to stay by her side? She had been missing that kind of family companionship for more than twenty years; even though she had her grandfather by her side, she still felt very lonely—a loneliness that came from the depths of her soul.

She felt at a loss without her parents, not knowing what to do, maybe everything she did was wrong, but she still couldn’t help but do it.

”Dad, Mom, I hope you won’t say those things anymore in the future. No matter what, since the moment I chose to forgive you, we were already a family. If we still had to distinguish between you and me, right or wrong, what kind of family would we be? A family should understand and support each other, care for and show concern for one another. If it was just to bring you back to deal with Grandpa, I wouldn’t have done it. You should know Grandpa’s health has improved during this time but also has deteriorated. You should understand what reasons lie behind all of this. Your return brought joy to Grandpa that also improved his condition, but if you acted out of line at home, it would only cause Grandpa to become more sullen and his condition to worsen again. I don’t want my grandfather to suffer even a bit under such circumstances.

Perhaps you think, as your son, my words to you are heartless and ruthless, but when faced with a choice between you and Grandpa, I’d choose Grandpa because more than anyone, I understand how difficult his life has been these past years. He gave me all his love, so I hope you can sincerely repay him, as it could make up for what you owe me over these years, can you? I don’t know what kind of thoughts you have deep inside regarding this matter, but I hope you can truly think about every word I’ve said. Each word represents the kind of life you will face in the future, and I hope you can sincerely reflect on this, think about the attitude you should hold toward my grandfather in the future?

I really cannot accept that this family is in chaos. I hope this family isn’t in daily turmoil. Such a feeling is awful for me. I hope everyone at home can live earnestly even if while earnestly conversing with others, occasionally lying, but I hope those are well-intentioned lies, and eventually, I still wish you would uncover every lie instead of bearing lucky illusions.

Deception is always deception. Don’t perceive it as right or take it for granted, and don’t think others deserve to be deceived by you. When others believe your lies, it’s not because they are foolish but because they’ve given you their full trust. When it’s discovered that every word you said was false, all trust evaporates with the smoke. Building trust is extremely difficult, and I hope you understand this principle. Live well and stick to your path, follow each family rule, and then you will no longer face a day of being left behind.

I hope that future life at home is peaceful. I don’t want the future to suffer like it is now; I’ve endured a painful life for more than twenty years, and I don’t want to continue it. If your return is solely for me to experience that painful life again, you might as well not return at all. Although I can hardly believe I’m saying this sentence, I finally uttered it. Even though deep inside, saying it hurt terribly, I don’t know how to explain it to you, but I still hope you can reconsider your future actions.

I don’t want to say much more to you today. I want to accompany my wife here properly. If there’s nothing else, you should go back for now. Grandpa is still at home, and I worry about him being alone. Go back and accompany him a bit, and speak kindly so it doesn’t drill too deeply into responsibility...”

I don’t want to let go, your loosened left hand, your indulgent love. Even if we lose, grow weary, we’d still look back!
