My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1823: Chapter 1617: Persistence

Parting brings only pain; there are some things I don’t wish to happen unexpectedly.

”I don’t understand why you think I will believe every word you say, nor do I understand why you’re so confident in coming to say these things to me.

If I were you, I would choose to never say certain things for the rest of my life as the best outcome for both parties. Some words shouldn’t be spoken, yet you choose to say them to me here, isn’t your intention to embarrass me? If you really don’t want me to feel well, why bother sincerely causing trouble?”

”Chen Gang, once some things are chosen, there’s no turning back. Since you chose to do this, then no one should blame anyone else. When you’ve made a decision, you can only walk this path to the end on your knees.

Sometimes, you have to admit that your inner thoughts and reality are completely different. Do you know, the moment you appeared before my eyes, I realized my heart was occupied by you. I understand that my heart will never accommodate anyone else in this lifetime. But I never expected that my concern for you would ultimately result in your betrayal. I never thought you, whom I care so deeply for, would choose to deceive me, use me, never trust me. I always believed that anything I wanted, I could have. Surely, you would support me silently by my side, but later I realized it was all just my fantasy!

If you really feel I’m in your heart, then please make the most politically correct decision. Some things left unsaid are to give each other face, but once they’re made clear, it makes both parties passive and embarrassed. Many things can have different outcomes, but because you walk an insurmountable path, it ultimately leads to the relationship between us turning to ashes.”

Chen Gang truly didn’t expect the woman he loved to say these things to him. At this moment, he realized that no matter how wealthy he was, no matter how great his achievements were, in his beloved’s eyes, he was just a worthless clown. She thought that by doing great things, she could win her over.

But later she found out that no matter how well she did, to what extent she could achieve, in the eyes of the woman she loved, she wasn’t what he wanted at all. Really, it’s not much; she just wanted to safely have what she wanted. But why did it become so difficult in the end? In his eyes, no matter what he did, was he nothing more than a clown?

”Zhihan, I don’t care what you think in your heart, but I hope you understand that once something happens, it can’t be changed. I don’t care how your heart views me as a person; perhaps you think I’m just a clown who will stop at nothing to achieve my goals. But I only did this for you. I said so many wrong things just to cause your husband to be distracted because only then could I have a chance to win you back to my side, keeping you by me forever without ever leaving.

I originally thought that by trying enough and by sacrificing everything for you, I could earn your understanding, but in the end, I realized you never saw me that way. I don’t understand how your heart views me. Perhaps you’ve long treated me as a stranger. Were all your words lies? Did you truly see me as family?”

”From beginning to end, I never considered you as family. Friends are friends, and they can’t be replaced by anything else.

I don’t care what purpose you had in saying those words just now, but I still have to clearly tell you the cruel reality. From the start, you were just a classmate, just a good friend to me. I never considered you family, because you don’t belong to the category of people I consider family.

Although I know saying these words is indeed hurtful and can make some people bow their heads, I have no choice. To stop your misunderstanding, I can only speak my mind. I can’t trust you 100% as before, because your trust is based on using me; how can I sincerely give my inner world to you, for you to use me over and over to go against those I love most?”

At this moment, Chen Gang was on the verge of tears and laughter. He had never thought that the woman he earnestly wanted to have in his life never regarded him as family, or even not at all in the way he imagined. He wanted nothing more than to be with the woman he loved, but why did everything turn out like this? It was all beyond what he imagined.

”When you say such things to hurt me, does your heart feel no guilt? I’ve loved you painstakingly for so many years and given so much for you, but in the end, you hurt my sincere heart like this. In your eyes, is my sincere heart really so insignificant? All I want is your smile, yet you always see me as someone who uses you. You’ll never understand how painful it is to love someone. Such pain can’t be described in a few words. The pain I’ve endured, you’ll never understand in this lifetime, because your heart simply doesn’t have room for someone like me!”

”Chen Gang, I’m sorry. I know the truth will bring you deep hurt and make you feel I’m someone who doesn’t love you. But do you know? If I were to hypocritically pretend to love you and play along with you, when the truth is revealed, it would be you, not me, who gets hurt even more. I can’t be that cruel, and I can’t pretend to say I love you just to achieve my goals. I’m not that heartless!

However, I won’t be like others, who can’t find ways to reject you no matter what, leaving your heart unable to bear the blow. Today, I choose to tell you in this way just to let you understand that we’re truly not suited for each other. Don’t harbor thoughts you shouldn’t have, and don’t hold on to notions that shouldn’t exist. Let this be my slip of the tongue, but I won’t believe you anymore. From now on, we are irrelevant to each other. You can spread your wings and fly freely; there’s no need to hang yourself on me.”

Is too much happiness hiding unspoken pain?

When did all smiles turn into bitter laughter?
