School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 339: Chapter 386 Happy Birthday

The classroom of Senior 3, Class 9, was very quiet at noon.

Because inside were only Chen Nan and Huo Xinya, as usual, tutoring English.

”Chen Nan, if one day you fell in love with someone you shouldn’t have, what would you do?” As she was speaking English, Huo Xinya suddenly threw in this question.

Chen Nan was taken aback for a moment and laughed, ”How would I know? I have never fallen in love with someone I shouldn’t.”

”I know, but I’m talking hypothetically. If this happened, what would you do?” Huo Xinya looked at him and said, ”I really want to know the answer.”

Chen Nan stared at her and asked, puzzled, ”Why are you asking such a strange question? Have you fallen in love with someone you shouldn’t have?”

”No... not at all.”

Huo Xinya hurriedly shook her head and lied, ”I just saw this question online and was curious, so I asked you.”

Chen Nan was silent for a while before shaking his head and saying, ”This, I don’t have an imaginary partner, so it’s really hard to answer. It depends on various factors; relationships between people vary, and so do the ways they are handled.”

”That’s true.”

Huo Xinya nodded, fell silent for a while, then clenched her teeth and said, ”Let me give you an example. Hypothetically speaking, if my sister had done so much for you, but before she returned, you fell in love with me, what would you do?”

”This...”

Chen Nan smiled helplessly, ”Your hypothetical situation is quite tricky.”

”If it were easy and not tricky, why would I ask you?” Huo Xinya laughed, ”Just tell me straight, if you encountered such a situation, what would you do?”

Chen Nan tapped his forehead and said with a wry smile, ”I really don’t know. I think, if I truly encountered such a situation, I would probably have to flip a coin to decide, leave it to fate.”

”Is it really that difficult to decide?” Huo Xinya said, ”My sister has done so much for you, does that not compare to a single word of love?”

Chen Nan laughed, ”Based on what you just said, it was I who became fickle and fell in love with you, and my heart no longer feels for Yiyi. In that case, on one hand, there is gratitude; on the other, true love. If it were you, do you know how to choose?”

Huo Xinya fell silent.

Chen Nan was right; it was indeed difficult to choose.

She herself was in such a dilemma now, with the man she liked on one side and her closest sister on the other, destined to not have both – a much tougher decision than choosing between fish and bear’s paws!

Looking at Huo Xinya, Chen Nan asked, ”I’ve always felt you’ve been acting strangely recently. Are you really just curious because you saw these questions online?”

”Of course! What else would you think?”

Chen Nan nodded and laughed, ”It’s best if nothing’s wrong. I’m just afraid you’ve encountered some difficult problem and are too embarrassed to say it.”

”Don’t worry about me; I’m fine.”

Huo Xinya had been tempted countless times to confess her feelings, but when it was time to speak up, she ultimately couldn’t get past that hurdle within her own heart, to compete with her sister for a man – she simply couldn’t do it.

...

The day’s classes ended in the blink of an eye, and to Chen Nan’s slight surprise, Jiang Xiaomi, that crazy girl, hadn’t come to find him today. He wondered if she had skipped class or something.

After walking Su Qingqing home from school, Chen Nan took a taxi to Han Yuting’s place.

After knocking on the door twice, Han Yuting came over with an apron tied around her, opening the door: ”You’re here, come on in.”

Seeing the apron on Han Yuting, Chen Nan asked, puzzled, ”Are you cooking?”

”Yeah, my parents owe so much debt that they went out of town to work a few days ago, leaving me alone at home,” Han Yuting poured him a cup of tea and smiled, ”If I don’t cook, what am I supposed to eat? I can’t just starve, right?”

Just her alone at home...

Chen Nan had the illusion that Han Yuting’s words seemed to hint at something.

Unable to resist, he glanced down at her shapely body, swallowed hard, and wickedly thought, since your parents aren’t home, you dare to have a man come over to spend your birthday with you late at night. You’re quite bold; are you not afraid of compromising yourself?
