School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 309: Chapter 353 A Big Loss

Looking at the remote control on the floor, Chen Nan couldn’t help but chuckle, ”Teacher, aren’t you a little too scared? A clap of thunder and you’re frightened like this, could it be that you’ve been up to no good recently?”

”Still bringing it up!”

Lan Yuqin gave him a side glance and said irritably, ”Keep this matter to yourself, if you dare to mention even half a word in the future, I won’t let it go.”

”Blaming me for your own cowardice.”

Chen Nan sighed and glanced towards the window,”It’s so dark outside, like evening. Where’s the switch for the hall light?”

”Hmph!”

Lan Yuqin stood up, walked over, and pressed the switch on the wall.

However, the light bulb didn’t turn on.

”Is there a power outage?” Chen Nan asked.

”It should be...” Lan Yuqin started to reply, then suddenly slapped her forehead, as if she remembered something, and quickly said, ”No, the bulb burned out. It broke last night, and I forgot to change it.”

”Do you have a new bulb at home?”

”Yeah, I’ll find one and change it.” Lan Yuqin said, turning around and walking inside.

After about two minutes, she came out with an energy-saving spiral light bulb in hand.

”Let me help you change it.” Chen Nan stood up and walked over, ”You being a delicate woman, I doubt you’d dare to climb so high. Give me the bulb.”

Hearing the first half of Chen Nan’s sentence, Lan Yuqin was about to hand over the bulb. But upon hearing the second half, her expression turned cold, and she drew back her hand, ”Do you look down on women? Hmph, today I’ll change it myself and show you, just so you know women are not to be underestimated!”

”Uh... then suit yourself.”

Chen Nan smiled wryly, helpless. He had only made an offhand comment, not expecting Lan Yuqin to get so worked up.

She moved a table to the center of the living room, placed a chair on top of it, and with a defiant expression, Lan Yuqin climbed onto the table with the bulb.

”Be careful, don’t fall from so high up.”

Chen Nan meant well with his warning, but in response, Lan Yuqin rolled her eyes at him, ”Don’t look down on me. In a moment, I’ll show you what a woman is capable of!”

”Other than giving birth to children, what other capabilities could a woman have...”

Chen Nan muttered under his breath, not expecting Lan Yuqin to hear him, but she suddenly stomped fiercely on the stool, ”Shut up, you jerk!”

Lan Yuqin’s stomp from on high scared Chen Nan quite a bit, ”My dear teacher, take it easy, don’t fall now.”

Lan Yuqin snorted coldly, took down the burned-out bulb, and began fitting the new one in place. But just at that moment—

”Boom rumble...”

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, and the thunder that followed was several times more intense than before. The house shook as if by an earthquake, scaring Lan Yuqin into letting out a yelp and, with weakened knees, she toppled forward towards Chen Nan.

”Hey hey, teacher, stay calm, calm down... mmph...”

Before Chen Nan could finish speaking, he was engulfed by a pleasant scent as Lan Yuqin crashed down on top of him.

Chen Nan never expected Lan Yuqin to be so terrified of thunder that she would not only roll off but actually fall on top of him.

Wait, what’s pressing on my mouth?

Chen Nan hurriedly opened his eyes, and was immediately dumbfounded.

At that moment, Lan Yuqin was lying on top of him, her eyes tightly shut, her brow furrowed, her face full of tension, seemingly still in shock and not yet recovered.

Should I take advantage of the situation?

Just as Chen Nan began to consider it, he quickly dismissed the thought.

He knew all too well how fierce Lan Yuqin was. An accidental kiss right now could be explained away, but if he took advantage of her in this situation, with her explosive temper, she would probably fight him to the death, maybe even chase him with a kitchen knife!

Lan Yuqin came to her senses, her face flushed with embarrassment.

The only thing on her mind was whether Chen Nan would misunderstand, thinking she had purposely fallen down to forcefully kiss him, being indecent towards him?

How should I explain this?

Lan Yuqin felt utterly panicked, but just then, a voice came through—

”Yu Qin, Chen, you two... aren’t you teacher and student? How could you...” Elder Lan Qingfeng had just come out of the room when he saw the scene before him, his eyes wide in astonishment and disbelief.

”I...”

Lan Yuqin hastily got up to explain, ”Grandpa, it’s not what you saw, nothing happened between him and me, we were just...”

”Alas, what a cursed fate!”

Before Lan Yuqin could finish, the elder Lan sighed and turned back to his room.

Lan Yuqin got up quickly, anxiously saying, ”Grandpa, don’t get the wrong idea, it’s really not what you think, it was purely an accident.”

The elder Lan turned his head to look at her, helplessly said, ”Yu Qin, grandpa is an experienced man, I understand the feelings of you young people. But you both... well, never mind, you’re both adults now, think it over yourselves.”

After speaking, the old man turned around and went back to his room.

My innocence!

Lan Yuqin cried out in her heart, feeling a sense of collapse, why wouldn’t Grandpa believe her!

”Teacher, actually just now...”

Chen Nan got up and was about to alleviate the awkwardness, but Lan Yuqin quickly cut him off.

”I... I didn’t fall on purpose to kiss you, don’t get the wrong idea,” Lan Yuqin said with a face flushed red.

”Teacher, whether I misunderstand or not isn’t the point, the point is that your family elder has already misunderstood,” Chen Nan glanced toward the elder’s room, ”Do you think this issue should be explained in detail?”

Lan Yuqin shook her head, ”Let it be, my grandpa always believes only what he sees with his own eyes, us trying to explain now will seem like a cover-up in his view.”

”How could it be!”

Chen Nan pointed to a table beside them, ”We were changing the light bulb, this table and stool are evidence, he has no reason not to believe that.”

”But this accident is too much, falling and landing on top of you is one thing, but to end up mouth to mouth, do you think that explanation holds any credibility?”

”This...”

Chen Nan fell silent for a while, then exclaimed agitatedly, ”Are we just going to leave it at that? What about my innocence, in the old man’s eyes, I’m a bona fide good young man!”

”What do you mean by that?” Lan Yuqin glared at him, ”As if being misunderstood to be dating me is such a huge loss for you!”

”It is a loss, my spotless reputation is ruined.”

”You’re at a loss?”

Lan Yuqin was so mad she felt like smoke was about to come out of her head, speaking irritably, ”You jerk, am I that terrible?”

”I never said that.”

Chen Nan stared at her and said with a peculiar tone, ”The way you’re talking, it’s almost like you’re longing to date me, could it be that you like me?”

”Go to hell, shameless!” Lan Yuqin threw the remote control at him, ”Conceited fool, as if I wouldn’t be good enough for you.”

”In the end, it’s just a misunderstanding, does it really matter if you’re not good enough?” Chen Nan sighed, ”Ultimately, you still like me. I can tell, deep down, you really want to date me, you’re just afraid to admit it!”

”Ah!!! Shut up, just shut up!”

Lan Yuqin clawed her hands through her hair, looking distraught as if she wanted to devour Chen Nan whole.

”Women, always saying the opposite of what their hearts feel!”

Chen Nan sighed, sat down on the couch, and started flipping through the TV channels with the remote.

Lan Yuqin’s chest heaved dramatically, knowing Chen Nan was just teasing her, but she couldn’t help falling for it.

Gritting her teeth, she pointed to the new light bulb fallen on the ground but unbroken, and ordered, ”Cut the chatter and just put that light bulb in for me!”

”Didn’t you say you could do it yourself? Why do you need my help?”

Lan Yuqin stood up furiously, pointing at his nose and barking, ”Are you still going to talk back, are you going to change it or not?”

”Alright, alright, I’ll change it, is that okay?” Chen Nan said with a wry smile.

Chen Nan had already experienced Lan Yuqin’s fiery temper and went over to pick up the light bulb, climbed onto the table, and fitted it into place.

After the light bulb was changed, there was no need to turn on the lights anymore, because the dark clouds had cleared after the heavy rain, and the sky outside brightened up again.

Lan Yuqin peeled an orange and handed half to Chen Nan, ”You’re a decent person, just too mouthy, sometimes I really want to tear that mouth of yours.”

”After kissing my mouth, now you want to tear it apart, huh?” Chen Nan said with a wicked smile, ”Teacher, is this what they call ’destroying the bridge after crossing the river’?”

Lan Yuqin slapped her hand on the coffee table with a ”smack”, ”Shut your mouth, oh mouthy one, show some respect!”
