The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 497: Chapter 496: Caring

Gu Tingting bit her lip upon hearing her brother’s words and said nothing.

Seeing his sister like this, even Gu Tinghao couldn’t help but furrow his brows, ”Tingting, I’m asking you a question, where exactly did you buy those medicine pills?”

He truly felt that there was something wrong with his sister’s condition. If this continues, won’t she be skin and bones?

Moreover, Gu Tingting was already close to being skin and bones, so he was determined to make his sister see a doctor. They had a sister-in-law who studied traditional Chinese medicine right in front of them, they could completely consult her first. But his sister still maintained such an attitude, making it unbearable for him.

Beside them, Zhuang Cai Xin hurriedly gave her daughter a push and said, ”Tingting, you should say something, where exactly did you buy those medicine pills?”

Only then did Gu Tingting reluctantly say, ”Bought them at Miao Shou Medical Hall.”

”Miao Shou Medical Hall?”

Yiyi couldn’t help but murmur. Mo Ping had mentioned this medical hall to her before, but she hadn’t expected that Gu Tingting bought the Height Increasing Pills there.

She had even tasted those Height Increasing Pills. At the time, she felt something was off. The formula for the medicine pills had an inexplicable strangeness, but she didn’t think much of it then. She didn’t expect that after taking too many Height Increasing Pills, it would result in this. Clearly, there was something wrong with these medicine pills.

Therefore, Yiyi directly looked at Gu Tingting and said, ”I’ll check your pulse later.”

Gu Tingting, however, refused without hesitation.

”No need, even if I want to see a doctor, after New Year’s I’ll go with Mom to a big hospital.”

It’s not that she didn’t trust it, but she couldn’t believe in Ding Yiyi, who hadn’t even graduated yet. Even if she did open a pharmacy, what did it matter? Those medicines must have been made by people she hired.

Upon hearing this, Yiyi didn’t insist, only nodding and saying, ”Alright then, go to the big hospital and have a check-up when the time comes.”

Meanwhile, Old Mrs. Gu was so angry her face changed color, ”Gu Tingting, your sister-in-law kindly offers to check your pulse, what kind of attitude is this?”

Seeing that everyone was on Yiyi’s side, Gu Tingting felt increasingly discontent and stood up with a ”bang”.

Zhuang Cai Xin hurriedly pulled her daughter back to sit down.

”Alright Tingting, hurry up and eat.”

Gu Yaozhong was also glaring at his daughter with anger, fearing she’d do something inappropriate.

In the end, Gu Tingting pouted and sat back down to eat.

Nevertheless, because of Gu Tingting’s scene, the reunion meal was rather tasteless.

After the meal was finished, Gu Yaozhong directly bid farewell to Mr. Gu and Old Mrs. Gu, ”Dad, Mom, we’re heading back now.”

Old Mrs. Gu didn’t ask them to stay, she simply nodded and said, ”Alright, you can head back.”

Mr. Gu similarly nodded with a cold expression, without asking them to stay.

Seeing her grandparents eager for them to leave, Gu Tingting couldn’t help but bite her lip, but eventually was led away by her father.

After Gu Yaozhong’s family left, Old Mrs. Gu looked a bit embarrassed as she turned to Yiyi and said, ”Yiyi, forgive us for the spectacle, Tingting really doesn’t know what’s good for her. You were obviously looking out for her, and she had that attitude. Next time, we won’t bother with her, she can do as she pleases. Since she doesn’t care about her own health, I won’t say another word in the future.”

Yiyi simply smiled and shook her head, saying, ”Grandma, it’s alright. But I have heard of that Miao Shou Medical Hall; it’s a medical hall that hasn’t been open for long, though I hear business is quite good.”

However, there was one thing Yiyi found strange. Wasn’t Miao Shou Medical Hall just recently opened? But Gu Tingting had been taking Height Increasing Pills for a while now; could it be that the hall had opened earlier and they hadn’t noticed? That must be it; it seems this Miao Shou Medical Hall is quite hidden.

Hearing Yiyi’s words, Old Mrs. Gu frowned and said, ”There are so many people going to that medical hall to buy medicine, aren’t they afraid of ending up like Tingting?”

”Grandma, I haven’t checked Tingting’s pulse, so I’m not sure if her condition is entirely due to Miao Shou Medical Hall’s Height Increasing Pills.”

Old Mrs. Gu, however, said, ”It must be related to that medical hall, otherwise how could a healthy person end up like this? Tingting is truly foolish, she’s so skinny, yet hasn’t taken it seriously.” Speaking of her granddaughter, Old Mrs. Gu felt a headache.

”Mom, since sister-in-law said she’ll take Tingting to the hospital, you don’t need to worry.”

Yu Qiulan comforted her, but didn’t say much else; she had witnessed Gu Tingting’s behavior earlier, and naturally formed opinions about her niece. Yiyi was her daughter-in-law, yet the second family often put Yiyi in difficult positions, which was quite overboard.

Old Mrs. Gu, hearing this, didn’t say anything further, instead pulling Yiyi to talk about other things.

Gu Tingyu sat beside Yiyi, occasionally smiling and chiming in, and when the conversation was almost over, Old Mrs. Gu couldn’t help but suggest, ”It’s rare to be together for New Years, why don’t we play some mah-jong?”

Yiyi didn’t expect Old Mrs. Gu to play this, but she was interested and nodded directly.

Finally, Old Mrs. Gu even brought Gu Tingyu along, and the four-person mah-jong game began.

Perhaps it was beginner’s luck, but after an afternoon of mah-jong, Yiyi won quite a bit of money, and was extremely happy.

”Look how happy you are, we’ll play again next time when we have the chance,” Old Mrs. Gu said, unable to resist.

Even Yu Qiulan smiled and said, ”Yes, next time, we’ll play properly, I haven’t played in a while and my hands are itching.”

While they chatted, it was time for dinner.

After dinner, Gu Tingyu escorted Yiyi home.

”I’ll come by again tomorrow morning,” Gu Tingyu said, touching Yiyi’s hair, his tone filled with reluctance.

”Mm.”

Yiyi smiled and nodded, then hugged Gu Tingyu, whispering softly in his ear, ”I’ll be waiting for you.”

Hearing the girl’s words, Gu Tingyu’s face was full of smiles, as he gently held Yiyi tighter, and finally couldn’t resist kissing her forehead, before letting her go into the house.

Early the next morning, Gu Tingyu came with New Year’s gifts.

Seeing Gu Tingyu arriving so early, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but ask, ”Tingyu, have you had breakfast?”

”Not yet.”

Hearing this, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but smile, ”Then quickly sit down and eat a bit, Yiyi hasn’t woken up yet, you came really early, once you’ve finished eating, check if she’s up.”

Old Master Ding, who just arrived at the dining room entrance, saw Gu Tingyu, and couldn’t help but be a bit speechless, though he was quite pleased; as he was happy to see how much Gu Tingyu cared for Yiyi, his tone improved significantly, ”Alright, sit down and have something to eat.”
