The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 458: Chapter 457: Missing

Seeing Wei Zhirong, Yiyi was also very happy, ”Zhirong, how come you have time to come over today, are you off today?”

Wei Zhirong smiled and nodded, ”Yes, I’m off today. I’m here to invite you for lunch tomorrow.”

Hearing this, Yiyi nodded and said, ”Sure, where are we having lunch tomorrow?”

”I’ve already booked a place, it’s Shangjing Restaurant. I’ve also invited Er Ya and Little Tao, I’ve contacted both of them, and they’ll be there on time tomorrow.”

Yiyi smiled upon hearing this, ”That’s great, having everyone together will be lively. By the way, I haven’t seen Er Ya for a while, wonder how she’s been lately.”

Talking about Fei Erya, Wei Zhirong said with a smile, ”She’s doing well. I went to see her first thing this morning, and she’s just so lovey-dovey with her partner, it’s enviable.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi playfully asked, ”And you? How are things with Brother Xie?”

Speaking of Xie Yuanzhou, Wei Zhirong couldn’t help but sigh, ”Ah, still the same, but it’s better than before. At least Brother Xie is not as cold as he used to be, sometimes he even responds when I talk. Do you think that’s progress?”

”Well, it is indeed progress.”

Yiyi agreed and nodded.

Seeing Yiyi say this, Wei Zhirong finally showed some smile, then started talking to Yiyi about the bits and pieces between her and Xie Yuanzhou, and finally asked, ”Yiyi, do you think this counts as real progress? Because if there is, I can keep going.”

Yiyi listened earnestly to what Wei Zhirong said and really felt that Xie Yuanzhou seemed to have made some changes. She then asked, ”Last time you knitted a scarf for Xie Yuanzhou, did he accept it?”

”Yes, he accepted it.”

Speaking of this, Wei Zhirong was very happy. It was her first time making something by hand, initially, she was afraid Xie Yuanzhou would refuse, but he accepted it in the end, so she was really pleased.

Yiyi raised an eyebrow upon hearing this, looking at Wei Zhirong and said, ”Then you can continue to observe.”

Hearing Yiyi say this, Wei Zhirong jumped up in excitement, ”That’s great! You also think there might be a chance between us, right?”

”Yes, yes, very likely.”

Wei Zhirong felt even happier now, and after exchanging a few more words with Yiyi, she left joyfully.

Watching Wei Zhirong leave, Yiyi couldn’t help but shake her head with a smile.

The next day, Yiyi set out on time to Shangjing Restaurant.

”Yiyi, over here.”

Wei Zhirong had already been waiting at the restaurant entrance, and when she saw Yiyi, she immediately waved at her with a smile.

On the other side, Fei Erya also came over. She was very happy to see the two and quickly ran up to them, saying, ”Yiyi, Zhirong, you guys are early too.”

”Yes, I thought I’d get to see you both earlier.” Wei Zhirong said with a cheerful smile.

Yiyi nodded in agreement, she was thinking the same.

Wei Zhirong looked at the time and found it was still early, so she said to Yiyi and Fei Erya, ”You two go inside and wait for me, I’ll wait a bit more for Little Tao.”

Yiyi and Fei Erya went in first, but after chatting for quite a while, Wei Zhirong still hadn’t come in.

”Er Ya, you sit tight, I’ll go take a look.”

Outside, Yiyi saw Wei Zhirong checking the time repeatedly and couldn’t help but step forward to ask, ”Zhirong, what time did you set?”

”I set it for eleven o’clock, but it’s already eleven thirty, and Little Tao still hasn’t shown up, don’t know what’s going on.”

Yiyi suggested, ”You should come inside. Let’s order food first, and then wait a bit more for her. If she still doesn’t show up, we’ll just start eating ourselves. Maybe something came up.”

Wei Zhirong could only nod in agreement, ”Alright, let’s go inside.”

After the three ordered food, Wen Tao still hadn’t arrived. In the end, Wei Zhirong had no choice but to let Yiyi and Fei Erya start eating, ”Forget it, we won’t wait for her. Let’s finish eating and then go find her to see what happened.”

Since Wen Tao hadn’t arrived, the three ate rather quickly, and as soon as they finished, they went directly to Wen Tao’s house.

However, when they arrived at the Wen Family, they found it completely empty. Wei Zhirong couldn’t help but frown and said, ”What’s going on? When I came to see her yesterday morning, she agreed to come at noon today. I can’t believe we’ve finished eating and she still hasn’t shown up.”

Yiyi also felt puzzled, but the Wen Family was indeed empty, so she could only say, ”I’ll call her later tonight.”

”That’s all we can do.”

Wei Zhirong sighed, and then the three left.

But when Yiyi called later that evening, the phone went unanswered, which made her start to worry. Wen Tao is usually quite reliable, even if she couldn’t come today, she would have said so in advance. How could she disappear without a trace? Therefore, she immediately called Wei Zhirong.

”Zhirong, I called the Wen Family but no one answered. Maybe you should call Xie Yuanzhou. Isn’t he good friends with Wen Tao’s brother? Maybe he knows something.”

Wei Zhirong immediately nodded, ”Ah, why didn’t I think of that. Yiyi, I’ll hang up and call Brother Xie right away.”

”Okay, don’t forget to call me back later.”

Wei Zhirong promptly said, ”No problem.”

After hanging up, Yiyi stayed by the phone, eager to know if something happened to Wen Tao.

After waiting for quite some time, Wei Zhirong finally called back, ”Yiyi, not good, Brother Xie said Little Tao hasn’t been seen since this morning.”

Yiyi’s face was full of surprise upon hearing this.

”What’s going on? How could Little Tao disappear?”

Wei Zhirong was also very anxious, ”I don’t know either. Brother Xie didn’t give details over the phone, I’m heading over to find him now.”

Yiyi quickly said, ”Zhirong, wait for me. I’m coming over, let’s go to the Xie Family together.”

Wei Zhirong immediately nodded.

After they reunited, they went straight to the Xie Family.

Xie Yuanzhou recounted what he knew to the two, ”Wen Tao hasn’t been seen since this morning. Initially, Wen Lin didn’t think much of it, but when she still hadn’t returned by evening, they realized something was wrong.”

”What... Little Tao has been missing since this morning? How is that possible? When I went to see her yesterday morning, she was fine, and we even arranged to have lunch today.”

”Wen Lin indeed said his sister had agreed to have lunch with you, so he initially thought Wen Tao was coming to find you early in the day. But when you called me in the evening saying you didn’t see her at all, that’s when they realized Wen Tao was missing.”
