The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 494: Chapter 493: Little New Year’s Day

Upon hearing Mr. Ding’s words, Yiyi was taken aback, ”Back so early, and not looking quite right?”

”Yeah, you should go check on your mom later.”

Yiyi hurriedly nodded at these words.

When she arrived at Ding Yuejun’s small yard, she gently knocked on the door, ”Mom, are you there?”

Upon hearing her daughter’s voice, Ding Yuejun quickly stood and said, ”I’m here.”

By this time, she had already regained her usual composure. Upon opening the door and seeing her daughter, she quickly smiled and asked, ”Why are you back so early today, is everything settled at the pharmaceutical factory?”

”The issues have been mostly resolved, most of the workers have gone home, only a few remain to keep watch at the factory during the holiday.”

Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun nodded and said, ”Good, as long as everything is properly arranged. By the way, you’re planning to go to Tingyu’s family for New Year this year, right? Is everything prepared?”

”Don’t worry, Mom, everything is pretty much ready. But, Mom, why did you come back so early today?”

Seeing her mother continuously talking about other things, Yiyi genuinely found it a bit odd, so she quickly shifted the topic to ask about her mother’s situation.

At these words, Ding Yuejun hurriedly smiled and said, ”The clothing store has been quite idle recently, so I came back early.”

”But just now, Grandpa said you didn’t look well. Did something happen?”

”No, nothing happened.” Ding Yuejun hurriedly waved her hand and continued, ”Your Grandpa must have been mistaken.”

Seeing her mother unwilling to talk about it, Yiyi didn’t press further and instead said, ”Mom, take a good rest. The clothing store was so busy for a while, I noticed you were losing weight. The New Year is coming soon; use this time to relax and unwind.”

At these words, Ding Yuejun naturally nodded and said, ”Sure.”

After Yiyi returned to the front hall, Mr. Ding looked at her and asked, ”So, what happened to your mother?”

Yiyi shook her head and said, ”Mom didn’t say.”

Now, Mr. Ding was even more curious, ”I wonder what your mother encountered that she didn’t even tell you.”

Yiyi also found it a bit puzzling.

Although her mother seemed normal earlier, her emotions were still subtly changing in her eyes, leaving Yiyi uncertain about what her mother had encountered.

”By the way, Grandpa, when did Mom come back?”

”Just recently. It was that Hong Kong businessman, Huang Yanquan, who brought her back.”

Hearing this, Yiyi squinted slightly, ”Could it be that Mom’s unwell appearance is because of Huang Yanquan?”

Mr. Ding nodded in agreement, ”I suspect it’s him too. When we have the chance tomorrow, I’ll have someone look into it.”

However, what surprised Mr. Ding and Yiyi was that Huang Yanquan had left Shangjing, heading directly back to Hong Kong.

When Ding Yuejun learned about this, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief, yet for some reason, a trace of faint disappointment lingered in her heart, leaving her with a mix of feelings.

”Mom, what’s wrong?”

Yiyi noticed her mother’s expression had changed and couldn’t help but ask.

Hearing Yiyi’s words, Ding Yuejun quickly said, ”It’s nothing, I was just a bit surprised. Mr. Huang previously said he wanted to stay in Shangjing for the New Year.”

”Mom, didn’t you start calling Mr. Huang ’A Quan’ earlier? Why do you now refer to him as Mr. Huang?”

Hearing this, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but pause briefly, then immediately said, ”I’m used to calling him Mr. Huang. Most of the time, I call him Mr. Huang, only occasionally in private do I use his name.”

Upon hearing her mother’s words, Yiyi increasingly believed something must have happened between her mother and Huang Yanquan; otherwise, her mother’s attitude wouldn’t be so strange.

Seeing her daughter’s puzzled expression, Ding Yuejun quickly changed the topic.

”It might be that the weather is getting colder. I feel less inclined to go out, not wanting to move, and I’m thinking of closing the clothing store.”

At these words, Yiyi quickly said, ”In that case, just rest at home. Today is already ’Little New Year.’ Let’s have a good meal together as a family and then watch some TV; that’s the real New Year ambiance.”

Upon hearing these words, Ding Xiaojun smiled and then asked, ”By the way, when does Tingyu get to rest this time?”

”On New Year’s Eve.”

Upon hearing her daughter’s words, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but sigh, ”Tingyu is great in every aspect, just doesn’t get much time to rest. Oh, is Er Ya coming back for the New Year this time?”

Upon hearing her mother’s words, Yiyi shook her head and said, ”Er Ya isn’t coming back. Uncle Fei will come to Shangjing; they plan to spend New Year here.”

Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun’s face showed more joy.

”That’s great, then we’ll invite them over to the house as guests. We haven’t seen each other in a while; this time, let’s have a good gathering. Besides, Er Ya doesn’t have many friends or relatives in Shangjing, so let’s take good care of them.”

”Mom, you’re kind of wrong there. Er Ya is engaged to Fan Qianshu, so she’s related to Fan family. They’ll probably visit relatives and friends.”

Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun laughed, ”Right, I didn’t immediately think of that, but regardless, we should invite them over for a meal.”

Naturally, Yiyi smiled and nodded.

As the New Year approached, Yiyi also thought of Mo Xiaohong in faraway Houshan Town, wondering how she was doing now.

”Mom, should we visit during New Year this time? I’m curious about how my elder sister and the others are doing.”

Upon hearing her daughter’s words, Ding Yuejun also entertained the idea, ”Sure, let’s visit when the time comes.”

Even though Mo Xiaohong wasn’t her biological daughter, having raised her for so many years brought about feelings, and she hadn’t seen Mo Xiaohong in a long time.

”Let’s visit her during New Year, and we can also see Shanshan and our little nephew.”

At dinner time, Ding Yuejun mentioned this to Mr. Ding.

Upon hearing these words, Mr. Ding couldn’t help but ask, ”When do you plan to go?”

”After all the relatives have left here, around the ninth day of the lunar New Year.” Ding Yuejun had considered this, so she answered right away.

”That should be good timing.”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Ding nodded and then said, ”Then go for it, but make sure to return quickly so that you’re back for the Lantern Festival.”

Ding Yuejun laughed, ”Okay, Dad.”

As the end of the year approached, time seemed to fly by, and after Little New Year, it was New Year’s Eve.

Meanwhile, Gu Tingyu returned.

After going home, he quickly headed to the Ding family.

”Yiyi, I’m back.”

Upon hearing the voice, Yiyi turned to look and saw Gu Tingyu, her face lighting up with a joyful smile, ”Tingyu, you’re back!” She exclaimed, running straight over.
