The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 490: Chapter 489: Blind Date

The time spent with Gu Tingyu always seemed to pass particularly quickly. Yiyi felt they had hardly bought anything before it was already evening.

The two of them returned to the Ding Family, laden with large and small bags.

When Ding Yuejun saw them return, she quickly greeted them with a smile, ”You’re back! Come in and eat; the meal is just ready and waiting for you.”

Gu Tingyu naturally stayed for dinner; after they finished eating, he went to sit with Yiyi for a while before reluctantly leaving.

After Gu Tingyu left, Ding Yuejun looked at her daughter with a conflicted expression, feeling a bit embarrassed as she said, ”Yiyi, I have to go out for dinner tomorrow night, so you and your grandpa will have to eat at home by yourselves.”

Hearing this, Yiyi couldn’t help but ask, ”Is it for work-related matters?”

Ding Yuejun rarely blushed and said, ”No, your grandpa insisted I go for a meal, saying... it’s good to meet more people.”

Seeing her mother like this, Yiyi suddenly understood and then smiled, ”Mom, just go without worry. If the other person turns out to be a good match, you can really consider it.”

Hearing her daughter’s words, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but glare at her, saying, ”You should get some rest; I’m going back to my room.”

Seeing her mother’s slightly shy look, Yiyi couldn’t help but smile. In truth, she really hoped her mother could be happy in the latter half of her life. If she could find someone who truly cherished her, Yiyi would be happier than anyone.

Previously, she had considered Wei Hanliang.

But her mother and Wei Hanliang had met several times. The last time Qu Yiqi invited her and her mother to the Wei Family’s place, she had noticed something subtle. But even so, Wei Hanliang gave no indication, so Yiyi dismissed the idea.

So this time, since her mother was open to a blind date, she was quite happy.

The next morning, Yiyi saw her mother dressed very casually and specifically asked her to change into something prettier.

Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but frown and said, ”That’s not necessary, I’m dressed fine.”

”Mom, the autumn green coat you wore last time looked really nice, you should wear that one today.”

Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun felt somewhat helpless but eventually gave in to her daughter’s wishes and changed her clothes. When she emerged wearing that coat, Yiyi’s eyes lit up.

Her mother was well-maintained now, and having taken the Jade Fragrance Pill before, she truly looked beautiful, very beautiful.

If someone claimed she was only thirty, people might actually believe it, so Yiyi had great confidence in her mother’s blind date that evening.

After leaving the house, Ding Yuejun felt somewhat out of place everywhere she went, never expecting she would go on a blind date one day, and even all dressed up, feeling as if she was trying to market herself, rendering her expression a bit helpless.

When Ding Yuejun arrived at the clothing store, Tailor Lü saw her appearance and couldn’t help but say, ”Boss, you look really beautiful today.”

Hearing this, Ding Yuejun smiled and said, ”Thank you.”

”No need to thank me; I’m just stating the truth. You’re already beautiful, but this coat makes you look even fairer.”

Ding Yuejun felt a little embarrassed by the compliments and just smiled, then quickly immersed herself in work.

Seeing this, Tailor Lü didn’t say more, though her eyes showed a hint of regret. The boss is so beautiful, yet still hasn’t found a good man to marry, a pity she doesn’t know any good men, otherwise she’d introduce one immediately.

Once engaged in work, Ding Yuejun felt time flew by.

By evening, she reluctantly headed to the booked Shangjing Hotel.

She remembered her father saying they had reserved a small private room, so she headed straight to Room No. 1. Upon opening the door, she found someone already seated inside.

Seated there was a tall, middle-aged man with a somewhat square face. Although not very handsome, he exuded an aura of righteousness, making him quite masculine.

At this moment, Shi Yang saw Ding Yuejun and was quite surprised to see her, unable to resist asking, ”Hello, who are you looking for?”

Hearing this, Ding Yuejun was slightly puzzled before saying, ”I’m Ding Yuejun, here for dinner tonight.”

Upon hearing her say she was Ding Yuejun, Shi Yang’s eyes showed a hint of admiration.

Before coming, he knew he was going to meet the eldest daughter of Mr. Ding for a date and had heard about Ding Yuejun.

Although Mr. Ding said his eldest daughter was beautiful, he hadn’t taken it seriously, thinking no father would say his daughter was unattractive. Besides, the eldest daughter of the Ding Family grew up in the countryside, only acknowledged in middle age. No matter how beautiful, how beautiful could she possibly be?

But now seeing for himself, he realized how wrong his assumptions were.

The eldest daughter of the Ding Family before him was stunning, with a gentle and dignified demeanor, no less than the young women he had seen before, which added enthusiasm to his face.

”Hello, please come in and sit.”

Ding Yuejun appeared slightly reserved but finally said, ”Sorry for being late.”

Shi Yang waved his hand and said, ”You’re not late, I arrived early. See what you’d like to eat, let’s order.”

Ding Yuejun ordered a couple of dishes from the menu, and Shi Yang ordered several of the hotel’s specialties.

Once the dishes were served, Shi Yang introduced himself, ”Hello, my name is Shi Yang, I’m forty-two years old, currently working in Xijing, but will likely be transferred to Shangjing next year. I assume Mr. Ding has already told you about me.”

Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun nodded.

Old Master Ding had indeed told her about Shi Yang.

This Shi Yang had never married, fully dedicating himself to his career. Years of hard work paid off, and he gradually ascended to a high position, now being the top leader over in Xijing. Once transferred to Shangjing, things wouldn’t be much different.

However, she really had no plans to find a man now.

Her first marriage left a significant shadow, and she understood now she could live well on her own; why marry again and deal with family affairs, including those of another side when living alone would be much freer?

Unfortunately, Old Master Ding did not agree with her perspective and insisted she come for a blind date, and her daughter shared the same view as her grandfather, leaving her little choice.

Though Shi Yang spoke rather humorously, and they did find common topics of conversation.

While chatting, Shi Yang noted a certain aloofness in Ding Yuejun’s expression, which made him even more enthusiastic.

Initially, his interest in Mr. Ding’s eldest daughter was lukewarm, and he was attending the date largely out of respect for Mr. Ding.

But now he no longer thought so; the woman before him was indeed both beautiful and cultured, with such family background, so of course, he had to seize the opportunity.
