The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 476: Chapter 475: Subtle Mood

”Ah...”

Zhuang Xinhai rolled around clutching his stomach, screaming like a slaughtered pig, but he still cursed and threatened through his teeth: ”Just you wait, I’ll make you pay for this.”

”Hmph... I’ll make you pay right now.”

Without thinking, Huang Yanquan kicked him again.

”Ah...”

Seeing this, Ding Yuejun hurried forward and said, ”Mr. Huang, let it go, or you might really hurt him.”

She had just seen Huang Yanquan beat the man up, and that ruthless fierceness made her feel a bit unfamiliar. After all, the Huang Yanquan she’d seen before was always smiling. She hadn’t expected him to be this vicious when he fought. She was afraid if he kept going, something bad would happen.

When Huang Yanquan heard this, his expression finally eased a little. Then he gave Zhuang Xinhai a cold look and said, ”Get lost. Now.”

Previously, once he realized he had feelings for Ding Yuejun, he deliberately stopped coming to see her. He wanted to find another woman, to see if it was just because he’d gone too long without a woman.

But over the past few days, even after seeing all kinds of women, he couldn’t work up any interest. That left him faintly panicked, and in the end, he unconsciously walked back here again.

And the moment he arrived, he saw some man tugging and pawing at Ding Yuejun.

How could he possibly hold back, so he rushed in without a second thought and started swinging.

Yet even after beating the man, the anger in his chest still burned. Just the thought that a woman he didn’t even dare treat casually had been manhandled like that made his blood boil.

Thinking of this, his hands started itching again.

Seeing that, Ding Yuejun quickly grabbed hold of Huang Yanquan. ”Mr. Huang, a person like that isn’t worth it.”

By now, Zhuang Xinhai had struggled to his feet. He took a hard look at the handsome young man in front of him, then glanced at Ding Yuejun, eyes full of contempt.

So that’s why Ding Yuejun wouldn’t go have dinner with him—turned out she already had a little lover. Hmph... a middle-aged woman, divorced and with a child, actually found herself a young guy like this. She really thought that just because the Ding Family was powerful she could do whatever she wanted. He was absolutely not going to let them have it easy.

Zhuang Xinhai left with hatred burning in his eyes.

As for Ding Yuejun, she stepped forward and said, ”Mr. Huang, thank you. Luckily you showed up just in time.” When Zhuang Xinhai had been dragging her along just now, she had indeed panicked a bit. Fortunately, Huang Yanquan appeared.

Seeing Ding Yuejun standing there safe and sound, Huang Yanquan finally let out a breath. Then, looking slightly uneasy, he said, ”I just thought Director Shao’s shoot is about to start, so I came by to see how the costume designs were coming along.”

Hearing that, Ding Yuejun quickly smiled and said, ”I’ve already drawn a few sketches. You can take a look later.”

Hearing this, Huang Yanquan didn’t ask further, only said, ”Where were you headed just now?”

”There are a few accessories I need for the costumes, I was just about to go out and buy them.”

At that, Huang Yanquan immediately said, ”Then I’ll go with you.”

Ding Yuejun hurriedly shook her head. ”No need.”

She knew Huang Yanquan’s business was big; she felt embarrassed wasting his time.

But Huang Yanquan said, ”I’d better go with you. What if you run into someone like that again?”

This time, Ding Yuejun couldn’t refuse anymore and simply went with him.

When they arrived at the shop, Ding Yuejun carefully began picking things out.

Huang Yanquan just stood to the side watching.

Watching the seriousness on the woman’s face, his expression softened. But very soon, he snapped back to himself and quickly shifted his gaze away.

Even now, he still found it hard to believe he’d actually fallen for Ding Yuejun. But no matter how much he resisted it in his heart, his eyes still followed her unconsciously.

By this time, Ding Yuejun had almost finished picking. After paying and taking the things, she turned back to look at Huang Yanquan and said, ”All done, Mr. Huang, let’s head back.”

Wang Yanquan nodded. ”Alright.”

On the way back, Huang Yanquan couldn’t help suggesting, ”Boss Ding, it’s getting late. Why don’t we find a place to grab a bite?”

Ding Yuejun thought for a moment and didn’t refuse.

The two of them then went to a nearby small restaurant together.

”We should’ve gone to Shangjing Restaurant just now.” Looking around at the rather shabby little place, Huang Yanquan couldn’t help but frown.

But Ding Yuejun smiled and said, ”Actually, these little places have really good food too. You’ll know once you taste it.” She’d eaten here once before, and the dishes were very good.

Seeing the bright smile on Ding Yuejun’s face, Huang Yanquan couldn’t help smiling as well. ”Alright, then I’ll have to give it a proper try.”

When the dishes arrived, Ding Yuejun urged Huang Yanquan to eat.

After tasting a few dishes, Huang Yanquan found they really were quite good. ”Good thing I listened to you, Boss Ding. Otherwise I’d have missed out on something so simple and delicious.”

Seeing that he genuinely liked the food, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help smiling. ”As long as you like it, Mr. Huang.”

They ate and chatted, and time passed quickly.

When it came time to pay, Ding Yuejun hurried to settle the bill first. ”Mr. Huang, let me treat this time. Consider it my thanks for your help today.”

Hearing this, Huang Yanquan didn’t argue, only smiled and said, ”Alright then, I’ll walk you back now.”

When they got back to the clothing shop, they found Yiyi already waiting there.

Seeing her daughter, Ding Yuejun quickly went over with a smile and said, ”Yiyi, when did you get here? Why didn’t you call first? Have you been waiting long?”

Yiyi shook her head. ”Not long.”

As she spoke, she gave Huang Yanquan a slightly puzzled look. Although they’d met several times already, it seemed like every time she saw him, he was with her mother.

But Yiyi didn’t dwell on it and simply greeted Huang Yanquan with a smile.

Seeing Yiyi again, Huang Yanquan felt a bit complicated inside. He actually couldn’t help mentally slotting her into the role of ”daughter.”

With that thought, his expression suddenly stiffened. After greeting Yiyi, he waved goodbye to Ding Yuejun.

Ding Yuejun also smiled and waved. ”Mr. Huang, take care on your way.”

After Huang Yanquan left, Yiyi couldn’t help asking, ”Mom, were you two talking business just now?”

Ding Yuejun never hid much from her daughter, so she told the whole story of what had just happened, ending with, ”Good thing Mr. Huang came by today. Otherwise, who knows what that Zhuang Xinhai might’ve done.”

As soon as Yiyi heard that, her face immediately darkened.

Zhuang Xinhai’s intentions were obvious enough—he was trying to get close to her mother.

Although she wasn’t very close with Second Uncle Gu’s family, she’d heard a bit about her second aunt Zhuang Cai’s bride’s side of things. So she looked at Ding Yuejun and said, ”Mom, that Zhuang Xinhai is no good. He just divorced his wife a little while ago because she couldn’t stand his drunken violence anymore—he used to beat people when he was drunk. Mom, stay away from men like that.”
