The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 485: Chapter 484: Fired

Yiyi naturally learned about this matter too, seeing Mr. Ding so angry, she quickly said, ”Grandpa, don’t let this upset you too much; we can investigate this thoroughly.”

Upon hearing his granddaughter’s words, Mr. Ding finally calmed down, then looked at Yiyi and said, ”Your mother probably doesn’t know how intense the rumor is, but let’s not tell her right now. We’ll inform her once it’s resolved.”

Yiyi nodded and then voiced her suspicion.

”Grandpa, actually...I suspect it might be that Zhuang Xinhai causing trouble. Last time, he wanted to meet with Mom, but got rejected. He might hold a grudge against her, not to mention Huang Yanquan even beat him up. He must be resentful.”

Mr. Ding was taken aback upon hearing this.

”How could I forget him? I was so busy preparing for your mother’s birthday party that I didn’t get around to teaching that Zhuang Xinhai a lesson. If he really did this, I won’t let him off easily. I haven’t even gone after him, yet he’s already stirring things up.”

”Grandpa, this is just my suspicion. But we can focus on investigating him, while also looking into other directions.”

Mr. Ding nodded and said, ”Alright, I have an idea.”

That evening, when Ding Yuejun returned, neither the grandfather nor granddaughter brought up the matter. Instead, they asked about the necklace.

”Yue Jun, did you return the necklace to Huang Yanquan?”

Upon hearing Mr. Ding’s words, Ding Yuejun shook her head and said, ”No, A Quan said a gift once given shouldn’t be taken back, and if I don’t want it, I should just throw it away. How can I throw away something so valuable?” She sighed in the end, feeling this gift was burdensome, realizing she’d have to find an opportunity to give Huang Yanquan something nice in return.

”A Quan?”

Upon hearing this name, Mr. Ding frowned immediately.

”You used to call him Mr. Huang, why the sudden change today?”

Ding Yuejun smiled and said, ”When we talked about how we address each other today, Mr. Huang felt that calling each other ’boss’ was a bit too formal since we’ve collaborated so many times, so we started using our names.”

After hearing this, Mr. Ding still felt something inexplicable.

And Yiyi also had a similar feeling, a sense of oddity that had appeared before returned, feeling something strange about Huang Yanquan. Then she remembered the rumor, creating a complex expression, but seeing her mother’s clear eyes, she quickly shook her head again. She naturally believed in her mother, so she stopped overthinking.

Mr. Ding naturally noticed his older daughter’s expression, so he didn’t say much more, just commented, ”Since that’s the case, just keep it. Find a chance in the future to give a gift of equal value.”

Ding Yuejun quickly nodded, and then the family sat together for dinner.

After dinner, they each went back to their rooms to rest.

The next day, Yiyi had to go to school. With final exams in two days, she couldn’t slack off.

”Yiyi, for this year’s Spring Festival break, we’re all going home, so we can’t work at the pharmaceutical factory.”

Upon seeing Yiyi arrive, Tao Cuizhu quickly explained this and then hurriedly added, ”But don’t worry, during summer vacation, I still won’t go home; I can continue to stay at the factory to help.” The factory’s benefits were really great, so she was reluctant to give up this part-time job.

The others nodded and said, ”Yes, during summer vacation, we won’t go home either, but for the winter holiday during New Year, we have to go back.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi quickly said, ”Going home for New Year is a must. After exams, hurry back, and I’ll also be giving employees at the factory a holiday, so everyone can rest.”

Upon hearing this, the group sighed in relief, then quickly called Yiyi to head to the classroom.

During this period, most classes focused on reviewing past lessons. After finding seats, they seriously studied before listening to the teacher once they arrived.

Because she was preoccupied with her mother’s situation, Yiyi hadn’t been staying in the dorm, returning home every afternoon after school.

Mr. Ding also acted swiftly, and within two days, uncovered the truth.

”Hmph...it really is that Zhuang Xinhai. I’ve been so busy lately, almost forgot about him. Didn’t expect him to jump out himself this time. I’ll make sure he knows what can and cannot be done.”

Yiyi wasn’t surprised upon hearing Mr. Ding’s words.

”Grandpa, what should we do now?”

Without hesitation, Mr. Ding responded, ”Of course, make that Zhuang Xinhai suffer to the fullest.” Then looking at Yiyi, he said, ”You don’t need to worry about this; I’ll handle it properly.”

”Alright.”

Yiyi nodded naturally and then said, ”Grandpa, once there’s a result, you must tell me so I can celebrate.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll let you know.”

After identifying the culprit, Yiyi began staying at the dorm again, and time flew by quickly. Soon, Yiyi and her friends faced their final exams successfully, all with good results. Even Feng Yudan, who usually didn’t score well, did nicely this time, restoring her confidence in studying.

As the final exams concluded, Mr. Ding set his plan into motion, waiting for the Zhuang family to fall into it.

The Zhuang family was under a cloud of gloom; Zhuang Xinhai sat weakly in the chair, unable to believe he’d been fired from his workplace.

”Xinhai, what’s going on? How could the workplace suddenly dismiss you without reason? Did you do something wrong?”

Upon hearing his sister Zhuang Caixin’s words, Zhuang Xinhai finally came back to his senses, shaking his head forlornly, ”I did nothing wrong; I don’t know why the manager wants to fire me.”

This left Zhuang Caixin puzzled too.

But seeing her brother like this, she couldn’t help but say, ”Xinhai, if you did nothing wrong, then don’t be so downcast. We’ll go to your manager now and ask what’s the matter.”

However, upon hearing this, Zhuang Xinhai hesitated, ”The manager has already fired me; it’s useless to go find him.”

”How is it useless? Even if you can’t get your job back, we should at least ask why he fired you.”

”Sis, it’s no use; even if we ask directly, the manager won’t honestly explain to us, right?”

Zhuang Caixin glared at her brother and said, ”We haven’t asked yet, so how do you know your manager won’t speak? Alright, let’s go now.”

Zhuang Xinhai remained motionless, clearly not wanting to go.

”Xinhai, get up right now. We need to find out the truth.”

Yet, Zhuang Xinhai still didn’t move.

Seeing her brother like that, Zhuang Caixin understood. Angrily, she remarked, ”I knew it! You must’ve done something, or else the manager wouldn’t have fired you for no reason.”
