Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 188: Chapter 122: I Really Just Want to Watch You Dance (Part 2)

”Hahaha...”

Li Jinshu smiled. ”Well, I’m heading back then.”

”Go on, then. Just looking at you is annoying.”

After Li Jinshu left, Xu Yun called his mom to chat and see how she was doing.

On the call, she once again lavished praise on Chen Xin.

The subtext of her words was clear: Chen Xin is an excellent daughter-in-law, I like her a lot, so you’d better hurry up and make your move, you little brat. Don’t be an idiot who doesn’t know what’s good for him!

Xu Yun said he understood and would try to consider it.

’Actually, he knew she was a great catch. But that was exactly why he couldn’t make a move—she was the daughter-in-law his mom adored.’

’If I actually sleep with her, and Mom forces me to get married, how am I supposed to keep playing the field?’

That’s why, because of his mom, he was very reluctant to get involved with Chen Xin.

One wrong move, and it could easily backfire on him.

Unless she could be like Su Mu and accept his relationships with other women.

After Xu Yun finished chatting with his mom, a call came in from Liang Yan.

He asked, ”President Liang, what’s up?”

”President Xu, do you know any reliable divorce lawyers?”

Liang Yan said, ”I need to fight a divorce lawsuit against my ex-husband.”

”Didn’t you say you were already divorced?”

”We are, but now he’s making a fuss about the division of assets.”

Liang Yan answered, ”He wants to get his old stuff back, so now he’s looking for a lawyer to sue me. I think it’s a lawyer from a Red Circle firm.”

”As it happens, I know a lawyer from a Red Circle firm too.”

Xu Yun replied, ”He’s my legal consultant. I’ll send you his WeChat contact in a bit. Just tell him you’re my friend and contact him yourself.”

”Okay, thanks.”

After settling her personal matter, Liang Yan brought up work.

”President Xu, just wanted to let you know, the short-form drama you invested in has gone live. It started streaming on all the short-video platforms today.”

”And the results?”

”The initial data looks decent, but we’ll have to wait 24 hours for the final results.”

”You should talk to Su Mu about this.”

Xu Yun said, ”Whatever needs to be done, or if you need anything from us, just talk to her directly.”

”Well, I can’t exactly talk to President Su about this next thing, can I?”

”What is it?”

”A sheep has died under my big mountain.”

Liang Yan asked meaningfully, ”When are you going to come over and help me solve this problem?”

”Uh...”

Xu Yun refused. ”I’m busy. You’ll have to handle it yourself.”

”Pah! Men are all useless. Goodbye!”

Xu Yun: ”...”

...

「The next morning.」

At her father’s strong insistence, Su Mu returned home.

The reason, once again, was the blind date.

As soon as she walked in, Su Jianqiang was already fuming. He roared, ”Su Mu, what is wrong with you? Your aunt said you found yourself a boyfriend?”

”That’s right. What about it?”

Su Mu found a seat and retorted, ”Weren’t you the one always telling me to find a boyfriend? Now that I have, you’re not happy?”

”Happy my ass!”

Su Jianqiang raged, ”I told you to find a boyfriend, not a piece of trash!

This so-called boyfriend of yours is just some low-level employee at your cousin’s company, isn’t he?

What do you even see in him?”

”I like that he’s young and in good shape. Is that a problem?”

Su Mu shot back, ”As long as he treats me well, that’s all that matters.”

”Just listen to the things you’re saying!”

Hearing this, Master Su said angrily, ”Did you come back today just to piss me off until I die?”

”You’re the one who told me to come back.”

”You...”

”Su Mu, stop trying to provoke your father on purpose. He’s only doing this for your own good.”

Jiang Xueqi quickly tried to mediate, ”The man Auntie introduced you to was carefully selected. He’s rich, has a career, he’s capable, and his future is limitless.

How is he not better than that little boyfriend of yours in every way?

And you embarrassed him right to his face. That really wasn’t very nice.”

”So the one I find myself is no good, but the one you find for me is?”

Su Mu sneered and countered, ”Aunt Xue, you don’t even know my boyfriend. How can you be so sure he’s not good enough?”

”I’ve done my research.”

Jiang Xueqi said, ”That... Xu Yun, I heard from your cousin. He used to be just a low-level employee at his company. No money, no skills.

What kind of life do you think he can give you in the future?”

”Hah, I can’t believe my cousin has the nerve to say that.”

Su Mu smiled. ”I bet you don’t know that ever since Xu Yun left his company, its performance has been in constant decline, right?

If this keeps up much longer, I’m afraid it’ll go bankrupt. Then he won’t have any money to keep a mistress on the side.”

”Su Mu!”

Su Jianqiang roared, ”Your aunt is just trying to help you! Can’t you speak to her nicely?”

”Dad, this is me being polite.”

Su Mu stood up abruptly and said, ”Ever since my mom died, I’ve had no attachment to this family.”

”Fine, fine! You’re the one who said it.”

Su Jianqiang slammed his hand on the table. ”Then from this day forward, don’t ever come back! And don’t even think about getting a single cent of my money in the future.”

”As if I’ve ever used your money all these years.”

Not to be outdone, Su Mu replied, ”Well, let me make one thing clear today: I’m going to spend the rest of my life with the ’piece of trash’ you keep talking about!”

”Su Mu, your father is just saying that because he’s angry.”

Jiang Xueqi said coaxingly, ”Don’t provoke him anymore, okay? Just back down a little. Your father has a heart condition.”

”Isn’t this the exact outcome you were hoping for?”

Su Mu said, ”Stop pretending. Aren’t you just trying to get rid of me, the inconvenient daughter, to clear the way for your own son?”

”Su Mu, I don’t... I never have! I’ve always thought of you as my own daughter.”

”Don’t listen to her.”

Su Jianqiang said angrily, ”Let’s see if she comes crawling back to me when she’s broke from following that piece of trash.”
