Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 155: Chapter 111: Xu Yun, I’m Home Alone Tonight. Are You Coming?

”Uh, I really am just here to work out.”

”If I hadn’t just seen two female trainers practically throwing themselves at you, I might have actually believed you.”

The man said, ”Don’t hoard all the fun for yourself. Share some tips with a brother. I’ve been coming here for so long and I haven’t even held a girl’s hand.”

”Bro, I honestly don’t know.”

Xu Yun replied, ”Usually, women are the ones who hit on me.”

The man was speechless.

After shaking off the man, Xu Yun lay down quietly on a massage chair and took a nap.

He slept until his mom called and woke him up.

It wasn’t about anything else; she just wanted to know if he’d had Chen Xin give her 300,000.

Xu Yun confirmed that he had, and his opinion of Chen Xin improved even more.

That was 300,000, after all. It had been placed right in her hands. If she’d wanted to, the money was hers for the taking.

Most people couldn’t resist that kind of temptation.

He hadn’t expected this silly woman to actually go and give it to his mom.

Once the matter of the money was settled, Zhang Sujuan brought up the topic of Chen Xin.

Between the lines, she wanted to know what Xu Yun thought of Chen Xin and whether he had developed any feelings for her after spending the last few days going out and staying under the same roof.

Xu Yun, of course, knew what his mom was up to, so he sang Chen Xin’s praises.

And it was all true.

Just when Zhang Sujuan was starting to think there was hope for the two of them, Xu Yun crushed her dreams with a single ”but,” using the excuse that his company had just been founded and he needed to focus on his career rather than romance for the time being.

She hung up on him, clearly displeased.

You see, before making this call, Zhang Sujuan had already spoken with Chen Xin to get the full story.

Chen Xin was also very pleased with her son, Xu Yun, and had nothing but praise for him.

But when Zhang Sujuan asked if she would consider dating her son, Chen Xin hesitated before finally saying something.

”Auntie, let’s just let nature take its course. We’re still just friends right now and need to get to know each other better.”

Her words made Zhang Sujuan ecstatic. ’No outright rejection? That means she’s interested!’

’Girls are always a bit coy, after all.’

Besides, after Chen Xin returned from her trip with her son, their own relationship had obviously grown much closer.

She was quick to call her ”Auntie” whenever they met, took the initiative to interact, and no longer seemed to be avoiding her.

When she invited her to dinner, Chen Xin wouldn’t refuse.

These were all good signs!

So, she believed that if her son just put in a little more effort and was a bit more attentive, the two of them might actually get together.

But that boy, Xu Yun, had to go and focus on some career!

Making money was important, she admitted, but who said you couldn’t build a career and be in a relationship at the same time?

’When he comes back for my birthday, I’ll have to give him a good talking-to and create some opportunities for him and Chen Xin.’

After hanging up on his mom, Xu Yun checked the time. It was already around 3:00 PM.

’Did I really sleep for that long?’

His thoughts turned to Jiang Peiyao, who was far away at West China Hospital. ’Her brother should be in the operating room by now, right?’

Xu Yun gave her a call.

The call connected a moment later, and Jiang Peiyao’s voice came through. ”Xu Yun.”

”How’s your brother?”

”He’s in the operating room, but the doctors haven’t gone in yet.”

Jiang Peiyao said, ”A group of specialists are in there discussing things right now. I don’t know what the outcome will be.”

”Don’t worry. It’ll be okay.”

Xu Yun comforted her, ”West China Hospital and Peking Union Medical College Hospital are the two best hospitals in the country. You have to have faith in the doctors.”

”Mm.”

After checking in on Jiang Peiyao, Xu Yun shook his head.

When it came to matters of health and sickness, sometimes you just had to leave it to fate.

In many cases, money couldn’t change the outcome!

Otherwise, so many wealthy cancer patients wouldn’t still end up dying.

Although he sympathized with her, you could never truly understand what someone was going through unless it happened to you.

Composing himself, Xu Yun headed down to the second-floor equipment room to find Zhang Jiaxin and work on his abs.

With exercise, you had to be consistent to see results.

Working out for a few days and then stopping for a few days was useless, even if you bought 500 sessions. Consistency was key.

「In Jinyuan District」

After hanging out in Xu Yun’s apartment for a while, Li Jinshu went back to Su Mu’s place.

’Anyway, Xu Yun isn’t home, and it’s boring to be here alone.’

A short while later, Su Mu returned from the construction site.

She looked at Li Jinshu lying on the sofa and asked, ”Your butt isn’t feeling any better?”

”Nope.”

”How could you be so careless?”

Su Mu poured herself a glass of water and suggested as she drank, ”Why don’t you go to the hospital and get it checked out? What if you fractured a bone or something?”

It turned out that to hide her real physical condition, Li Jinshu had lied and said she’d tripped and fallen on her butt.

”It’s fine. I’ve got plenty of cushion back there.”

Li Jinshu chuckled. ”It should be mostly better in another day or so.”

”Alright, then.”

”Susu.”

Li Jinshu asked, ”I haven’t been to the site in the last couple of days. How’s the renovation coming along?”

”They’re following your blueprints. The exterior is pretty much done, so they should start on the interior tomorrow.”

”I’ll go over tomorrow to keep an eye on things, then.”

Li Jinshu said, ”The interior design is more complex, so we can’t afford to be careless.”

”Oh, right. I’m going to go grocery shopping in a bit.”

Su Mu said, ”Do you want to invite Xu Yun over for dinner tonight?”

”Don’t bother. He’s not home.”

”He’s not?” Su Mu asked, puzzled. ”But I saw his car in the garage.”

”His car’s here, but he isn’t.”

Li Jinshu said irritably, ”He came back for a bit, then left again. Right now, he’s probably over at the fitness center getting cozy with some female trainer.”

”The fitness center?”

”Yeah, the one near our district.”
