Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 184: Chapter 120: The Boss Is Busy Right Now and Doesn’t Want to Be Disturbed

”Is Xu Yun with you right now?”

Li Jinshu said, ”I tried calling him but he didn’t pick up, so I wanted to see what was going on.”

”No, he’s talking with some other guests. It’s probably too noisy for him to hear his phone.”

Yu Xuan lied, ”Miss Li, if you have a message, you can tell me and I’ll pass it on to him.”

”It’s nothing important.”

Li Jinshu said meaningfully, ”I was just scrolling through short videos and came across one of you guys. I saw you caught a huge fish in the lake.”

”The boss did indeed catch a very big fish today. It must’ve been over sixty, maybe seventy pounds.”

”Wow, that’s amazing.”

Li Jinshu said, ”Alright then, I won’t disturb your party any longer. I’m hanging up.”

”Okay, Miss Li. Goodbye.”

After Yu Xuan hung up, Song Xiaowei asked curiously, ”Who was that?”

”Our boss’s neighbor. She said she saw a short video of us fishing this afternoon.”

”Really?” Song Xiaowei took out her phone, opened a popular short-video app, and started scrolling.

Sure enough, she quickly came across the video of them.

”Oh my god, this video already has over 700,000 likes.”

Song Xiaowei said in surprise, ”It’s gone viral.”

She scrolled through the comments.

Everyone below was green with envy, calling Xu Yun the pinnacle of the fishing world.

It wasn’t because his fishing skills were so amazing or the fish he caught was so big, but because he could take three beautiful women fishing with him.

And each one of those women, on her own, was an absolute knockout.

At first, Yu Xuan didn’t think much of it, but after seeing the fishing video, it suddenly dawned on her.

’This is bad!’

’Miss Li saw the video, which means she must have seen Miss Su too!’

Yu Xuan wasn’t entirely clear on the relationship between the boss and the women.

But there was one thing she was sure of.

Li Jinshu probably didn’t know about the boss’s relationship with Miss Su. Otherwise, the dynamic between the three of them wouldn’t have been like that.

This meant the boss and Miss Su were secretly seeing each other behind Miss Li’s back.

’Why hide it?’

’That wasn’t important, and she didn’t care.’

However, once the boss was free later, she definitely needed to tell him about this and give him a heads-up.

Besides Li Jinshu, another person who came across the video was Chen Xin, taking a break from writing.

Seeing Xu Yun and the others catch such a big fish made her heart flutter with excitement.

’Too bad I’m stuck in this small county town and can’t be with them,’ she thought.

Chen Xin sent a message to Xu Yun.

”Xu Yun, next time you’re back, will you take me fishing by the river, please?”

But after waiting for quite a while, he didn’t reply.

”He’s probably busy right now.”

Chen Xin pouted and went back to writing.

Her last trip to Shanghai with Xu Yun was a lot of fun, but it was also expensive and had used up almost all of her savings.

She had to start working hard to save money again.

Aunt Zhang’s birthday was in a week or two, and she still needed to buy a present.

Besides, her own birthday was the day before Aunt Zhang’s.

’And then I’ll have to spend money to treat Xu Yun to a meal.’

’He’s so rich, I can’t take him somewhere cheap. I have to treat him to a meal at the most expensive restaurant in the county.’

On top of that, her ”rich bro” reader hadn’t been very active lately.

’Sigh, he donated four Golden Alliances in total. I wonder if he’s got ideas about me after seeing my photo.’

’If he donated those Golden Alliances because he’s actually interested in me, things could get awkward.’

’After all, nothing could ever happen between us, so I’d probably have to find a way to return the money I received.’

Also, because of the rich bro’s four Golden Alliances, she had gone from being a completely unknown, unsuccessful author to someone with a little bit of fame.

A woman might not be obsessed with vanity, but she’ll still have a vain side.

After she finished writing and published the latest Chapter, she brazenly asked her readers for monthly tickets.

According to the platform’s rules, for every thousand monthly tickets a novel received each month, the author would get one chance at a lottery draw. All sorts of good prizes were available, with the top prize being 10,000 yuan in cash.

Right now, she had 1,805 tickets. She was just 195 short of 2,000, which would give her two lottery chances.

”Please, heavens, let me get to 2,000 tickets in these last few hours!”

...

In the lakeside cabin, the ”activities” were over.

The two of them, wearing pajamas, came out and sat in the living room.

Today was just a small skirmish to satisfy the craving; they didn’t fight a war of attrition.

Picking up their phones, they both saw they had missed calls, all from Li Jinshu.

Su Mu asked, ”Do you think something’s wrong with Jinshu?”

”Why don’t you call her and find out?”

”Okay.”

Su Mu got up, took her phone, and walked to the side to call Li Jinshu back.

The call connected quickly.

”Hello, Jinshu? You called me?”

On the other end, Li Jinshu chuckled. ”It’s so late, and I saw you weren’t back yet, so I just wanted to check on you.”

”Oh, I’m staying at my dad’s place tonight, so I won’t be coming back. You don’t have to wait up for me.”

”Alright.”

Li Jinshu then asked, ”By the way, how did your blind date go today? Was it okay?”

”I just went through the motions. Nothing came of it.”

Su Mu said with a laugh, ”You should get some sleep. I’m about to turn in myself.”

”Okay.”

Meanwhile, Xu Yun opened the message from Chen Xin and paused for a moment.

’Strange, why would she suddenly ask me to take her fishing?’

Xu Yun replied with an ”Okay.”

Then, he glanced at Su Mu, who was still on the phone with Li Jinshu, and logged into his QQ. He opened the QQ book-fan group that he had blocked Chen Xin from.

He saw Chen Xin asking for monthly tickets in the group.

Xu Yun backed out, opened the novel app, and glanced at her monthly ticket count. He decided to lend her a hand.

He immediately sent a Golden Alliance donation.

[Faced with a friend’s plea for monthly tickets, the Host followed ’Do as You Please’ and donated a Golden Alliance, fulfilling her small wish. Reward: 200,000 cash.]

[Bank Account Balance: 21,250,000]

Listening to the system’s reward notification, Xu Yun felt numb. This small amount of money didn’t faze him at all anymore.

On the novel platform, his Golden Alliance donation instantly caused the book’s name to flash in red across the entire site.

Chen Xinshu’s monthly ticket count was now high enough!

Her fan group and author groups were flooded with congratulations, as well as a solid wall of envy, jealousy, and hate.

At the same time, Xu Yun’s reader account, ”Angry Brother,” also became famous on the platform, turning into a bona fide whale and super-reader.

This was because every one of his recent donations had been a Golden Alliance.

All the other authors hoped their own books might be graced by this whale’s favor.

Just then, Su Mu finished her call and walked over.

Xu Yun asked curiously, ”What did Li Jinshu want?”

”Nothing much, just asking if I was coming back to sleep.”

Su Mu snuggled into Xu Yun’s arms and replied, ”I told her I was staying at my dad’s place tonight and not coming back.”

”So I’m your dad, huh?”

Su Mu shot him a glare, remembering the embarrassing thing from just now.

’Why do men always like women to call them ’daddy’ when they’re doing *that*?’

’It’s just like in those adult films I’ve watched!’

Just as the two were flirting, Yu Xuan, estimating the time was right, returned.

She knocked on the door before coming inside.

Song Xiaowei had already gone back to her own room.

Yu Xuan glanced at Su Mu, then looked down and said to Xu Yun, ”Boss, that video of you fishing this afternoon was posted on a short-video app and it’s spread around. And Miss Li has already seen it.”

”How do you know?”

Yu Xuan replied, ”Miss Li called me a little while ago and asked about it.”

Xu Yun was speechless.

Su Mu was, too.

They looked at each other, and the color drained from Su Mu’s face.

’In other words, during that phone call just now, Li Jinshu knew I was lying to her!’

’Now Li Jinshu must think I snuck out on a date with Xu Yun behind her back, without inviting her.’

’When I get back, how am I going to explain this to her?’

’Or should I just come clean about my relationship with Xu Yun?’

Su Mu’s heart was suddenly tangled in knots!

She didn’t know what to do.

She could tell that Li Jinshu had feelings for Xu Yun.

She was afraid this incident would create a rift between them.

”Xu Yun, I...”

”It’s okay.”

Xu Yun, on the other hand, didn’t feel burdened at all. He reached out a hand to comfort her, ”Don’t overthink it. We’ll deal with it when you get back.”

Feeling guilty and upset, Su Mu went to sleep in the adjacent room with Yu Xuan that night.

This left Xu Yun incredibly frustrated.

Fortunately, Yu Xuan was very understanding. Knowing what her boss needed, she quietly got out of bed in the middle of the night after Su Mu had fallen asleep and slipped into Xu Yun’s bedroom.

Only, no one knew.

The moment Yu Xuan stepped out, Su Mu, still in bed, opened her eyes.
