Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 176: Chapter 118: With Me Here Tonight, Don’t Even Think About It

”Besides, the scenery here is beautiful, and the air is fresh. I like it a lot.”

”That’s good. I was just worried Miss Su would be upset that I didn’t tell you.”

When they arrived at the hotel, the two were informed that a small lakeside villa had already been arranged for them according to the guest list.

Su Mu frowned at the staff member. ”One room for the two of us?”

”It’s a lakeside cabin suite.”

The staff member explained, ”It has two separate bedrooms, a living room, and one bathroom.”

”Are there any others available?”

Su Mu said, ”I want a separate one for myself. I can pay extra.”

”I’m sorry, miss, but there are none left. All the other cabins have been assigned to other guests.”

”Fine, I understand.”

The staff member then mentioned the time of the gathering and left.

Qiao Yuanshan said from the side, ”Miss Su, why don’t we leave it like this for now? The gathering is about to start. After it’s over, I can help you look for another hotel and see if we can figure something else out.”

”Okay.”

Su Mu didn’t dwell on it. ’Worst case,’ she thought, ’I’ll find Xu Yun later and just move into his room.’

...

Soon, the gathering began in the hotel’s grand hall.

Xu Yun and Yu Xuan also returned from their stroll just in time.

It was his first time attending such a high-end gathering, and he was a little curious.

He led Yu Xuan into the venue and took a look around, discovering that most of the attendees were middle-aged people in their thirties who had achieved some success in their careers.

There were a few young men around his age, in their twenties.

But one glance was enough to tell they were rich kids from some wealthy family.

He figured that’s probably what other people thought of him, too.

However, the guests didn’t make the vast hotel hall feel crowded, probably because not many people had come—at most 30 to 40 people!

For one, some of the middle-aged owners disdained coming, feeling such gatherings were pointless.

For another, Bentley only sold a few hundred cars a year in the entire country. Once you narrowed that down to a single city, the owner base wasn’t very large.

After all, not all wealthy people liked Bentleys; there were other luxury brands like Maybach.

On stage, the event host began with some opening remarks, which were nothing more than thanking everyone for coming and so on.

Then, she began to lecture everyone on the history of Bentley and the prestige of the brand.

The core message was simple: Bentley cars were great, their historical heritage was profound, and the people who drove them were outstanding. Choosing Bentley was the right decision, and the brand would, in turn, provide them with even better service.

In short, it was all about brainwashing everyone into remaining loyal Bentley customers.

Finally, she got to the main point and began introducing the specific details of the upcoming new model.

It was less of a car club meeting and more of a sneak-preview event.

Xu Yun wasn’t interested in any of this, but he was surprised to see a familiar face.

It was the event host.

”Boss.”

Yu Xuan noticed where Xu Yun was looking and asked quizzically, ”You’ve been staring at the host on stage. Do you know her?”

”I do. I didn’t expect to run into her here.”

Xu Yun said with a smile, ”She still owes me money.”

Yu Xuan was speechless.

After patiently—and with great difficulty—waiting for the new product presentation to end, the free-mingling portion of the event began.

”Boss, should I go get her?” Yu Xuan asked proactively.

Xu Yun shook his head. ”Forget it. Asking someone for money right now would just ruin the mood.”

Yu Xuan was speechless again.

”Hey beautiful, first time here? I haven’t seen you around.”

While the two were chatting, a man about Xu Yun’s age walked over.

He was decked out in designer brands from head to toe and had a female companion by his side.

”My name is Yan Can. And you are?”

Faced with the advance, Yu Xuan turned to look at him and replied expressionlessly, ”My name is Yu Xuan. I’m my boss’s secretary.”

Yan Can was left speechless.

He had approached Yu Xuan because he assumed she was the principal guest.

The man beside her, Xu Yun, seemed more like someone she had brought along.

Judging by their attire, Yu Xuan’s high-end luxury Louis Vuitton outfit and bag were worth a fortune, and her aura and appearance were very much like that of a wealthy heiress.

Xu Yun, on the other hand, was dressed very ordinarily. The only slightly expensive item on him was the watch on his wrist, but it was just a Rolex worth 200,000 to 300,000.

It was a far cry from the ice-blue Daytona on his own wrist, which was worth over 600,000.

He had come to this gathering for two reasons. One was to let his new girlfriend see the world and experience his usual lifestyle.

The second was to meet more friends his age and expand his social circle.

He wasn’t the only one; most of the people here had the same idea.

Everyone was making money in the same city, so they were bound to run into each other often. Making more friends meant having more connections.

But Yu Xuan’s words had left him dumbfounded. A woman with such an aura was actually this guy’s secretary?

Yan Can looked at Xu Yun in surprise and asked with a smile, ”My friend, what’s your name?”

”My surname is Xu, and my given name is Yun.”

Xu Yun introduced himself, adding, ”I’m from an ordinary family. We don’t have any businesses.”

”Started from scratch and became your own boss?”

”You could say that.”

”Damn, man, that’s impressive. You have my respect.”

Hearing this, Yan Can sighed. ”Unlike me. I’m just lazing around all day. Every day is just about mooching off my parents.

I’ve wanted to start my own business to prove myself several times, but my parents won’t allow it. They’ll give me pocket money, but not a single cent for a startup.”

”Your parents are right.”

Xu Yun teased, ”Isn’t there a saying? ’It’s not the playboy heirs you have to worry about, it’s the ones who want to prove themselves.’”
