Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 167: Chapter 115: Boss Xu Has the Final Say

Ning Qian had put it bluntly. The reason she had wanted to add Xu Yun on WeChat was based on this very principle—she believed he was a high-level VIP, the kind who belonged in the inner circle.

So this time, having learned his lesson, he walked into the Louis Vuitton Store at the mall and didn’t even bother mentioning that he was there to pick out clothes.

He mimicked how he’d acted when buying the watch in the Shanghai Stock Exchange, once again channeling his inner nouveau riche.

After all, according to the rules, he hadn’t yet reached the level where he could just walk in and select clothes.

You had to slowly work your way up, just like with Patek Philippe!

Everyone might be a VIP, but even VIPs had different levels.

So, facing the enthusiastic sales associate, Xu Yun, with Yu Xuan in tow, said bluntly, ”Take me to the inner room. I’m in a hurry. Don’t waste my time with this outdated stuff you have hanging out here. I want to see your latest seasonal exclusives!”

”...” The sales associate was taken aback.

Her reaction was just like the sales guy’s at Patek Philippe.

Completely dumbfounded!

’For him to ask to see the exclusive pieces in the inner room right away, he must be a regular,’ she thought. ’Even if he’s not one of our regulars, he’s definitely a major client at another boutique.’

She couldn’t afford to offend a client like that.

So she went to inform her manager.

The manager came over, and one glance at the watch on Xu Yun’s wrist was all it took for her to guess he was no ordinary rich man.

That’s why sometimes a watch isn’t something you wear just because you like it.

You wear it out, and it speaks for you, like a status token from ancient times.

It lets people in the know gauge your standing at a glance, saving you the trouble of explaining yourself and avoiding a lot of hassle.

However, she knew basically all of their store’s major clients in Jiangcheng and didn’t recall anyone like him.

’Could he be another young heir from out of town?’

It wasn’t the first time something like this had happened; they ran into it occasionally.

As someone working in an industry that catered to the wealthy, the manager operated on the principle of caution and non-offense. As long as the customer could afford it, some rules were flexible.

She said politely, ”This way, please, sir.”

A large door opened, and the manager led the two of them inside.

It turned out there was a boutique within the boutique. It was a room of over forty square meters, decorated with the stylish, opulent feel of a villa’s living room.

A few articles of clothing were hung sparsely on racks, all of them styles not available in the main showroom.

There was only one of each—truly exclusive pieces.

But the prices, well, they weren’t cheap.

Yu Xuan glanced at the price tag on a nearby dress—a staggering 130,000!

Xu Yun sat down on the sofa and sipped a freshly brewed cup of coffee.

A moment later, the manager had someone bring over a long clothing rack on wheels, displaying all the newly arrived seasonal items for Xu Yun.

”Mr. Xu, do you see anything you like?”

The manager bowed slightly with a smile. ”If you see something you like, I can have one of our in-store models try it on for you.”

”Alright.”

Xu Yun turned to Yu Xuan beside him and asked, ”Go ahead and pick one. Which one do you like?”

”Boss, these are too expensive.”

Yu Xuan had assumed Xu Yun was buying for himself; she was shocked to realize he meant for her to choose.

She was visibly moved. ”You should be buying for yourself. It wouldn’t be right for me.”

”You’re accompanying me to a party tomorrow, aren’t you?”

Xu Yun chuckled. ”Take a look at your outfit. You wouldn’t want me to be embarrassed, would you?”

”Well...” Yu Xuan’s face flushed.

’Compared to the clothes here, her own outfit really did look cheap.’

”Stop dawdling and go choose,”

Xu Yun added. ”And remember: just pick what looks good. Don’t look at the price tag.”

”I understand.”

Soon, Yu Xuan had picked out an outfit from the rack.

Knowing the party would be outdoors, she chose a formal dress that allowed for easier movement.

Instead of having the model try it on, Yu Xuan went to try it on herself. A store clerk helped her with some matching accessories, and then she stood before Xu Yun for his inspection.

Boss Xu would be the judge of whether it looked good or not.

The sight of Yu Xuan in the low-cut, off-the-shoulder gown made Xu Yun’s eyes widen in appreciation.

Her beauty and charisma, which he’d previously rated an eight out of ten, had instantly jumped to a nine thanks to the dress!

’Damn,’ he thought. ’You really do get what you pay for!’

’Isn’t this miles better than the stuff they sell out front?’

’And the best part is, you don’t have to worry about running into someone else wearing the same thing!’

But there was one small flaw, a minor imperfection.

Xu Yun looked Yu Xuan up and down, muttering to himself, ”The waist on this dress seems a little loose. It would be perfect if it were a bit smaller.”

”That’s no problem at all.”

Hearing this, the manager immediately smiled and explained, ”I’ll arrange for someone to take Miss Yu’s measurements right now. Once the alterations are complete, we’ll have it delivered to your residence.”

”Good. I understand.”

On the surface, Xu Yun was the very picture of calm, completely unfazed. Inwardly, however, he couldn’t stop himself from swearing.

’Holy shit, they can alter it?’

His horizons had truly been broadened!

’So this was the standard operating procedure, the kind of VIP service the wealthy were supposed to enjoy when shopping for clothes!’
