Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 174: Chapter 117: I’m a Good Wife and Loving Mother, I Have to Listen to My Lover-Husband

”Shameless.”

Su Mu reached out, smoothed the wrinkles on his clothes, and reminded him, ”Be low-key at the gathering. After all, the people who can go probably don’t have ordinary families. Don’t go around offending people.”

”So concerned about me. What, not angry at me anymore?”

”If I really got angry at you, I would’ve been angered to death by you long ago.”

Su Mu said irritably, ”All day long, you don’t come home when you have one, you don’t keep someone company when you have them. You just love fooling around in other women’s beds.”

Xu Yun was speechless.

”Alright, I’m leaving.”

”Okay, be careful on the road. Watch out for perverts.”

”The biggest pervert I should be watching out for is you.”

Su Mu shot him a glare, a mixture of bashfulness and anger, then left via the elevator.

Xu Yun pursed his lips. ’The Su Mu of today is acting more and more like a demure little woman in front of me.’

Humming a tune, he walked into Su Mu’s House.

Li Jinshu looked at him and was reminded of how he wasn’t taking her to the gathering, so she deliberately ignored him.

Yu Xuan took the initiative to greet him. ”Boss, you’re awake?”

”Yeah.”

Xu Yun looked at Yu Xuan, who was wearing new clothes, and smiled. ”This outfit of yours looks even better than yesterday’s.”

Yu Xuan blushed and didn’t reply.

Xu Yun asked, ”Is there any food left? Help me cook a bowl of noodles, I’m a bit hungry.”

”Okay, Boss. I’ll get right on it.”

After sending Yu Xuan off, Xu Yun walked over to the sofa.

He sat down next to Li Jinshu and asked, ”So early in the morning, and you’re already looking for another beating?”

”Why aren’t you taking me to the gathering?”

”Is that what this is about?”

Xu Yun smiled. ”Even if I wanted to take you now, would you even be able to walk?”

”You definitely did it on purpose.”

Li Jinshu blushed and said in a small voice, ”You deliberately wore me out like that last night just to keep me from going out.”

”Well, isn’t that your own fault for not having enough stamina?”

Xu Yun said, ”Alright, stop pouting. I haven’t even gotten back at you for instigating Chen Xin to harass me last night.”

”I...”

Hearing this, Li Jinshu thought Xu Yun was about to get angry again.

Just as she was about to explain, Xu Yun cut her off. ”It’s fine. In the future, if you want to find me, just call me directly. Stop bothering with that stupid woman Chen Xin.”

”Oh.” Li Jinshu nodded.

While the two were talking, Yu Xuan cooked a bowl of noodles and brought it over.

...

Following the address her family had sent, Su Mu arrived at a coffee shop.

She walked in and scanned the room.

The atmosphere was nice and quite elegant, very suitable for a couple’s date.

At a table by the window, a man in a suit sat with his back to her.

’That must be him.’

Su Mu composed herself, then walked over, sat down opposite him, and asked, ”Are you Qiao Yuanshan?”

The middle-aged man looked at Su Mu and was somewhat stunned by her beauty.

’I didn’t expect her to be even better-looking and more elegant in person than in her photos.’

Before coming, he hadn’t actually been too satisfied with the match.

After all, she was on her second marriage; he was in this completely for her family’s fortune.

His own company had hit a bottleneck. If he could get some help from her father, he could secure better opportunities for development.

It was only with that, and the guarantee from her cousin—his friend, Gu Heng—that he had agreed to this blind date.

Fortunately, she didn’t disappoint. She exceeded his expectations by a wide margin.

Seeing her today, he was truly satisfied with Su Mu.

’If she didn’t mention it, with that figure and that skin, you would never be able to tell she was a woman who’d been married before.’

”Yes, so you must be Su Mu. It’s a great pleasure to meet you.”

He stood up and asked with a smile, ”What would you like to drink? I didn’t know what you liked, so I didn’t order. I waited for you to get here first.”

”Whatever. Anything is fine.”

”Waiter, a latte, please. Thank you.”

After ordering, Qiao Yuanshan sat down and proactively started a conversation. ”To be honest, I didn’t expect you to be this beautiful before I came. It’s making me a little embarrassed now.”

”If I were truly beautiful, I wouldn’t have been cast aside.”

Su Mu dropped the bomb directly. ”I’ve actually been divorced once.”

”I know.”

Qiao Yuanshan smiled, unconcerned. ”Your mother told me your basic information beforehand. I’m not a person who cares about these things. After all, everyone encounters some people who aren’t right for them.

I also encountered a materialistic woman before and had a failed marriage myself.

So I feel that as long as the two of us get along, we don’t need to care about the past. Just living our future well is enough.”

”You’re quite open-minded.”

”When you’ve experienced a lot, you learn to see these things more lightly.”

Qiao Yuanshan sighed with emotion, then said, ”Miss Su, you probably don’t know my basic situation yet, so let me introduce myself.

I’m 35 this year, and I currently run my own startup, which is doing quite well.

I have a 320-square-meter house in Tulip, and I just bought a car. It’s nothing too expensive, a 3-million-yuan Bentley.”

”Mr. Qiao, you’re so young and successful.”

Listening to his self-assured introduction, Su Mu played along, flattering him. ”To start from scratch and achieve such success by thirty-five, you’re truly amazing.”

”Not at all, not at all.”

Qiao Yuanshan said humbly, ”I’ve just had good luck these past few years and earned a little money.”

”I’m just very curious, since you’re so successful, why would you want to find someone who’s been divorced?”

Su Mu asked in confusion, ”With your credentials, there must be a lot of women younger and more beautiful than me wanting to throw themselves at you, right?”

”That is indeed the case.”

Qiao Yuanshan said with a hint of pride, ”But I’m not the kind of person who’s interested in those vain, materialistic gold diggers.

I just want to find a strong career woman who is as outstanding as I am, someone with whom I can progress, strive, and share common interests.”

”Then I’m probably not suitable for you.”

Su Mu said, ”I haven’t worked in a long time and have been idle. I don’t think my abilities are up to par; I’m a bit unworthy of you.”

”That’s not a problem.”

Qiao Yuanshan said, ”As long as we get to know each other, find that we’re compatible, and get together, I can open a branch company for you and give you some of my business to practice with.”

”Aren’t you afraid I’ll lose all your money?”

”It’s fine. In business, you have wins and losses.”

Qiao Yuanshan laughed magnanimously. ”Say no more. When the time comes, I’ll give you 5 million in startup capital. You can do whatever you want with it.”

’5 million...’ Su Mu thought.

She remembered the company Xu Yun had her manage—the startup capital for that was 50 million!

In comparison, 5 million suddenly didn’t seem like very much at all!

’I’ve really been around Xu Yun too long. Money is starting to not feel like money anymore!’

”Alright, I have a general idea about you now.”

Su Mu asked, ”Is there anything you want to ask me?”

”What kind of man do you like?”

”Handsome and rich.”

Su Mu smiled. ”After all, I’m used to spending money freely, and I’m a sucker for good looks.”

When Qiao Yuanshan heard this, he thought he seemed to fit the bill.

”What about personality?”

Thinking of Xu Yun’s personality, Su Mu said, ”Serious when it comes to work, but humorous in conversation. He has high emotional intelligence when dealing with people, and he’s a genuinely good person.”

”Why do I feel like you’re describing me?”

Qiao Yuanshan chuckled. ”I feel like I fit all the things you just mentioned.”

Su Mu was speechless.

’I’ve actually met a guy even more shameless than Xu Yun.’

’Rich? He barely qualifies.’

’But handsome? Where? He’s not even one-tenth as good-looking as Xu Yun, okay?!’

In order to complete the task her father had given her, Su Mu began chatting half-heartedly with him, hoping to end this blind date as soon as possible.

As the conversation wound down, Qiao Yuanshan checked the time and invited Su Mu to lunch.

But Su Mu made up an excuse and refused.

Before she came out, Xu Yun had told her she wasn’t allowed to eat with the guy.

’I am, after all, a virtuous wife and loving mother. I have to listen to what my lover says.’

Qiao Yuanshan was a bit surprised by the rejection, seeing as they had been chatting so well.

He just assumed she was truly busy at noon and followed up, ”Miss Su, are you free this afternoon?”

”Why do you ask?”

”There’s a Bentley owners’ club meet this afternoon. The invitation says we can bring a female companion. I figure everyone will have one, except for me.”

Qiao Yuanshan extended the invitation, ”I was wondering, Miss Su, if you would do me the honor of accompanying me?”

”A Bentley owners’ club meet?”

”Mhm,” Qiao Yuanshan said. ”It should be quite nice.”

’Su Mu suddenly remembered Xu Yun’s gathering this afternoon. It’s probably the same one, right?’

’Didn’t he say it was for a whole day and night?’

’Hmph, this Qiao Yuanshan deliberately left that part out. He’s just trying to trick me into going so we can spend a day and a night together.’

’He’s really playing his cards well.’

However...

Qiao Yuanshan was filled with confidence about winning over Su Mu.

After all, he pictured the two of them spending a day and a night together on a secluded island.

If he played his cards right, their relationship could take a quantum leap!

Little did he know, he was nothing more than Su Mu’s human entry ticket!
