Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 180: Chapter 119: You Just Can’t Resist a Little Temptation from a Woman

He would’ve been gutted if that had been his own line.

Thankfully, to prevent this exact situation, he’d bought a few extra spools of line from the shop owner.

The man took the rod and skillfully began to replace the line for him.

The other fishermen nearby saw this and started gloating.

”Got a bird’s nest again? HAHAHA...”

”Buddy, top-tier gear is useless. You still need some solid skills.”

”It’s fine. All beginners are like this. Just practice more. After you tangle your line a few more times, you’ll get the hang of it. We all went through the same thing.”

Not far away, the three women, having finished looking at the jellyfish and noticing Xu Yun was gone, came looking for him.

They walked right up to his side.

Su Mu asked, confused, ”What are you doing here?”

”Fishing.”

”You don’t even have a fishing rod. What kind of fishing is that?”

”It’s right there.”

Xu Yun glanced at the guy beside him and said, ”The coach I hired is getting my rod ready. I made a mistake earlier and got the line tangled.”

Originally, it was just a bunch of guys fishing by the river.

Now, three beautiful women had suddenly appeared, and they were all gathered around the newbie from before.

All of a sudden, the crowd that had been mocking him was overcome with a complex mix of emotions.

The guy was fishing with top-tier luxury gear and was surrounded by beautiful women. Then they looked at the rods in their own hands and thought about the wives waiting at home...

The comparison was infuriating!

”You should just save your energy.”

Su Mu scoffed. ”You? It’d be a miracle if you caught a fish.”

”Looking down on me, are you?”

Xu Yun said, ”My coach here swore that if I don’t catch a fish today, he’ll take my last name.”

”Buddy, I never said that,” the man beside him immediately retorted.

”HAHAHA...”

Su Mu laughed. ”See? Even your coach has no faith in you.”

”What if I do catch a fish, then?”

”If you can actually catch a fish...”

Seeing that Yu Xuan and Song Xiaowei weren’t outsiders and not afraid of them knowing about her relationship with Xu Yun, Su Mu said bluntly, ”I’ll come to your room tonight, and you can do whatever you want with me.”

”PFFT!”

Those words instantly shattered the spirit of the man changing the line.

”Alright, you’re the one who said it.”

Xu Yun looked at the man and said, ”My brother, my shot at bliss tonight is all on you.”

The man was speechless.

’Fuck, I suddenly don’t want to teach you anymore!’

’I’m so jealous I could cry.’

’This guy catches a fish and gets to do whatever he wants with a beautiful woman tonight. I come home a little late from fishing, and my wife gives me a beating!’

Soon, the new fishing line was on.

Lure fishing can be dangerous, so when Xu Yun went to cast, he had Su Mu and the others stand far back, lest he accidentally hook a mermaid.

This cast went smoothly with no tangles, but it didn’t go far—only about twenty to thirty meters.

Following the man’s instructions, Xu Yun reeled in the line at a steady pace.

Then he made a second cast.

Beside them, Song Xiaowei asked doubtfully, ”Manager Su, do you think he can really catch anything with that? It’s just a piece of metal. Will a fish actually eat it?”

”I don’t know, but it should work, I guess.”

Su Mu looked at the other fishermen around them. ”Everyone else is fishing the same way.”

”But I haven’t seen a single one of them catch anything.”

”It’s possible to catch fish this way.”

Yu Xuan explained, ”I once had a client who used this fishing method, but it was in the ocean, not a lake.”

Just as the women were watching Xu Yun with skepticism, Xu Yun, who was reeling in his line, suddenly felt something in the water tugging at his rod.

And it was strong!

He gripped the rod tight, yanked it up, and the line instantly went taut as the rod bent.

The line started peeling from the reel with a ZZZZ-ZZZZ sound.

”Holy shit, fish on!”

Seeing this, the man beside him got very excited and quickly shouted, ”Tighten the drag! Otherwise, you’ll run out of line, and it’ll snap!”

Hearing this, Xu Yun quickly tightened the drag.

Sure enough, the line slowed its exit, but the pull on his hands grew even stronger.

From the bend of the rod and the speed of the line coming off the reel, any experienced fisherman would know this was no small fish—at least a meter-class catch.

”Hold on tight, buddy, hold on! This fish is huge! Don’t let it get away!”

The man was so excited he wished he could take over and reel it in himself.

When Su Mu, Yu Xuan, and Song Xiaowei saw that Xu Yun had really hooked a fish, and a big one at that, they got excited too, cheering him on from the side.

They were even more excited than Xu Yun.

Hearing the commotion, the other fishermen all turned to look.

’No way, is beginner’s luck real? He actually hooked a fish?’

’The main thing is, it’s just one fish. Do they have to be so damn excited?’

It was Xu Yun’s first time hooking a fish, and he was thrilled. He held the rod steady while cranking the reel with his left hand, engaged in a tug-of-war with the great fish.

Lure fishing isn’t like traditional bait fishing where you need to play the fish; you just have to haul it in.

’Damn, this fish is way too strong,’ he thought.

For every four to five meters of line Xu Yun reeled in, the big fish would pull one or two meters back out.

They had been locked in this struggle for several minutes, and he still hadn’t even seen the fish break the surface.

”Buddy, I’m guessing that fish of yours is at least thirty pounds!”

The man beside him exclaimed excitedly, ”I haven’t caught a fish that big in ages! Your luck is just insane!”

Hearing him, the other fishermen stopped fishing and crowded around to watch.

Catching a fish wasn’t strange, but catching a big one required a certain amount of luck.

It was a rare opportunity.

As time wore on, the great fish was still struggling in the deep water, holding its ground at the bottom. Xu Yun kept the rod steady, and the two were locked in a standoff, a test of who had more endurance.

Sweat was already beading on his forehead.

’Exhausting. This is too exhausting,’ he thought.

Seeing this, Yu Xuan quickly pulled a wet wipe from her bag and stepped forward to wipe his forehead.

Not only that, but when Xu Yun muttered that he was a little thirsty, Su Mu took her own water bottle, twisted it open, and brought it to his lips for him to drink.

Meanwhile, Song Xiaowei had somehow procured a fan and was standing beside Xu Yun, fanning him to cool him down.
