Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 179: Chapter 119: You Just Can’t Resist the Slightest Temptation From a Woman

The Coral Jellyfish, also known as the peach blossom fish, is the panda of the aquatic world.

They only appear in water of extremely high quality.

Every summer, the West Sea of Lushan is teeming with them.

Because the water was so clear, Su Mu, Yu Xuan, and Song Xiaowei could easily spot them from the floating bridge.

It was the first time any of them had seen one, and they were all fascinated.

As for the women, well, they had a natural soft spot for cute little things like this.

Not like Xu Yun, who took a quick look before running off to watch other people fish.

To protect the water quality, fishing was restricted to designated areas, and Xu Yun watched with great interest from the sidelines.

It seemed they were doing something called lure fishing. Unlike traditional fishing, which was like waiting for a rabbit to run into a tree, this method was more like guerilla warfare.

You constantly cast the line out and then reeled it back in.

There was no bait on the line, only artificial lures made of metal or plastic. The targets were predatory fish.

This was also the first time Xu Yun had seen it. Learning that such a fishing method existed, he was as fascinated as the women had been with the jellyfish. He found it interesting and wanted to give it a try himself.

Besides, he wasn’t interested in the surrounding scenery, and there was still some time before the evening banquet. He needed an activity to kill time.

Xu Yun went to a nearby shop that rented out fishing gear and said, ”Hey, boss. That lure fishing setup... hook me up with a full set.”

”Sure. What kind are you looking for?”

The owner asked, ”Do you want a spinning reel or a baitcasting reel? How expensive a reel are you thinking?”

”I have no idea. I’m a total beginner. Just pick out a set for me.”

”Hey man, is this your first time?”

A man who had come back to buy more lures spoke up. ”For a beginner, I’d suggest just getting a basic entry-level set to mess around with. Just to get the feel of it. Anything too expensive would be a waste.”

”How expensive can one of these fishing rods get?”

Xu Yun didn’t know anything about fishing, so he was clueless about the prices.

”Buddy, the expensive ones are *really* not cheap.”

The man said, ”You can find rods that cost over ten thousand yuan, and the same goes for reels. A top-of-the-line set could easily run you twenty to thirty thousand.”

”But even though they’re pricey, the feel and the experience are absolutely top-notch.”

”Oh, I see. Thanks.”

Xu Yun turned back to the owner and asked, ”Do you have the kind of gear he’s talking about?”

The owner was surprised. ”Well, I do have a Shimano set. It’s the prized possession of my shop, and it’s not cheap—around thirty thousand. Are you sure you want it?”

”Yeah, give it to me.”

Hearing this, the owner’s face lit up. ”Excellent, excellent! Sir, I’ll get it ready for you right away. I’ll even throw in a few big-name brand lures for free.”

The more expensive the equipment, the more profit he made.

’Looks like I’ve run into a real tycoon today.’

”Whoa there, buddy, be rational about this.”

Seeing this, the man kindly tried to talk him down. ”You’re a beginner, you really don’t need something this good. If you handle it wrong and break it, that’s a huge waste of money.”

”It’s fine. I just got a sudden urge to try it out. I’ll probably only go fishing this one time anyway.”

The fisherman was speechless.

’Holy crap, you’re buying such expensive gear just to use it once?’

’What kind of family does this guy come from?’

Xu Yun was dressed quite ordinarily, so he didn’t look particularly wealthy.

Seeing the astonished look on the man’s face, Xu Yun said, ”How about this? You teach me how to fish, and when we’re done, I’ll give you this whole set. What do you say?”

The man couldn’t quite believe it and asked for confirmation, ”Really? You’ll give it to me? You’re not joking?”

”That’s right.”

Xu Yun replied, ”Consider it payment for your lessons.”

”Deal! It’s a deal!”

The man said excitedly, ”I’ve been fishing for ten years. My skills are more than good enough. I guarantee you’ll catch a fish this afternoon.”

A few moments later, the owner had finished setting up the rod, reel, and line for Xu Yun.

There were also things like fish grips, lure bags, tackle boxes, and so on.

Xu Yun took out his phone, paid without a second thought, and walked right out with the rod.

[Fishing cultivates the mind and body. The Host, faced with the temptation of fishing, has chosen to Do as You Please and purchase a top-of-the-line luxury set. Reward: 100,000 in cash.]

[Bank Card Balance: 21,150,000]

...

The moment Xu Yun stepped out, the man scrambled to follow right behind him.

’Right now, this guy is more important to me than my own father!’

’A top-of-the-line Shimano set worth over thirty thousand yuan... this is the dream gear for countless ordinary anglers!’

Don’t assume that fishing is a cheap hobby.

In reality, any hobby can be a money pit if you get into the serious, high-end side of it.

Once you dive in headfirst, the amount of gear is enough to make you weep. Every veteran angler owns multiple sets of equipment.

They use different setups for different bodies of water and different species of fish.

Those with a bit more money will even buy a special fishing boat to reach waters inaccessible on foot and fish from on board.

When Xu Yun arrived at the lake’s edge, before he even started fishing, the surrounding anglers immediately recognized the gear in his hands, their eyes filled with envy.

At that moment, it didn’t matter whether he could catch a fish or not; he had instantly become the coolest guy on the lake.

If he managed to land a big one on top of that, he’d be unbelievably cool!

Xu Yun’s set had a baitcasting reel, which is more demanding for beginners. The slightest mistake in form, and you could end up with a backlash.

Following the man’s instructions and demonstration, Xu Yun tried to make his first cast with force.

Other people could cast dozens of meters, some even a hundred.

His landed right at his feet.

And he got a backlash.

The line on the reel was a tangled mess, a total bird’s nest.

Xu Yun: ”...”

’Damn it. It looked so easy, but the second I try it, I mess it up.’

Seeing the mess, the man beside him shook his head. ”Buddy, even I can’t untangle that. Give it here, and I’ll spool on a new line for you.”

You have to understand, this imported PE line cost over a yuan per meter. That single failed cast was an instant loss of over a hundred yuan.
