Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 48: Chapter 48: And You Say You’re Not Seducing Me

When Ning Qian got home, her roommates looked at her with some surprise.

”You’re back?”

”We thought you wouldn’t be coming back tonight after your date,” one of her colleagues said.

”If I didn’t come back, where would I go?”

Ning Qian smiled and replied, ”We just went out for dinner tonight.”

”We saw your post.”

Her colleagues gathered around, their faces full of envy. ”Did Mr. Xu really take you to Shangfang for seafood?”

”Of course he did.”

Ning Qian couldn’t help but laugh. ”You don’t think I Photoshopped it myself just for fun, do you?”

”No, it’s just that Wang Shengmei was saying in the group chat that your picture was fake.”

A colleague explained, ”She just went there recently and said you can’t see the night view from that angle in the main dining area.”

”She was probably sitting in the main hall.”

Ning Qian feigned a casual tone. ”We were in a VIP private room today. The room fee alone was 2,000 yuan, so of course the view is different from outside.”

”Oh, so that’s how it was.” Hearing this, her colleagues were overcome with envy.

Another one asked, ”So that giant crab in your post, how many pounds was that king crab? It looked huge.”

”One was twenty-two pounds, the other eleven.”

”Wow, that must have been so expensive.”

Ning Qian smiled and replied, ”It was alright. I think one was over 30,000, and the other was over 8,000.”

”...” The room went silent.

Someone asked in astonishment, ”So the two of you spent tens of thousands on one meal tonight?”

”Mhm, over 50,000.”

”...” Again, silence.

Remembering what Xu Yun had said earlier, Ning Qian smiled. ”When I have time, I’ll take you all there for a meal too.”

”Really?”

”It’s so expensive there,” they said in surprise. ”It’s one thing if someone else is treating, but it’s too extravagant for us to go on our own.”

”It’s fine, I have money.”

Ning Qian showed off happily, ”Xu Yun gave me a member card with a 200,000 yuan credit line. He said I should take you all to try the seafood hotpot there sometime. It’s really good.”

”Oh my god, he’s too good to you! He even gave you a member card with 200,000 on it.”

Her colleagues were beyond envious.

”Yay, we can go too! Finally, we don’t have to put up with that woman Wang Shengmei’s attitude all day.”

They hugged Ning Qian, exclaiming happily, ”Xiaoqian, you’re the best! We love you to death!”

...

After watching Ning Qian enter her apartment complex, Xu Yun prepared to head back.

Halfway there, he got a call from Li Jinshu.

”Hey, where are you?”

”Just finished dinner, on my way home.”

Xu Yun teased, ”What’s up? Calling me at this hour, aren’t you afraid your dear best friend will find out?”

”She’s not home today, she went back to her parents’ place.”

Li Jinshu chuckled. ”I’m all alone at home tonight. She probably won’t be back.”

”All alone? What do you mean?”

Xu Yun asked with a smile, ”You miss me?”

”Of course not.”

Li Jinshu said coquettishly, ”The water heater at home is broken. For some reason, there’s no hot water, and I can’t get a repairman at this hour. Do you want to come over and take a look?”

”Alright.”

After a moment’s hesitation, Xu Yun agreed. ”Good timing. I have something to give you anyway.”

Li Jinshu was puzzled. ”What is it?”

”You’ll see when I get there.”

Xu Yun hung up, made a U-turn, and headed directly for Jinyuan.

Soon, he arrived at the entrance to the complex.

Although his license plate wasn’t registered, the security guard saw his luxury car and didn’t give him much trouble. He asked a perfunctory question, then immediately raised the gate and let Xu Yun in.

As expected of a high-end residential community. As soon as Xu Yun entered the garage, he noticed there wasn’t a single cheap car parked there. The least expensive was over 300,000 yuan.

Not only that, but the parking spaces were much wider than those in an average complex, so you wouldn’t have a situation where you couldn’t open your car door after parking next to someone.

The floor was so clean it was reflective.

All of this intensified Xu Yun’s desire to buy a new house.

But he only had five million yuan. It was enough for everyday expenses, but when it came to buying a house, he couldn’t afford one that was too nice or too large.

He knew, for instance, that the large single-floor apartment Su Mu and the others lived in, with two units per elevator lobby, cost over 30,000 yuan per square meter. Each unit was over 230 square meters—nearly 2,500 square feet—which meant they cost upwards of six or seven million yuan.

Fortunately, not all the units here were sold yet. Xu Yun casually pulled into a temporary parking spot and took the elevator upstairs.

Su Mu’s apartment was on the 19th floor, Unit 2.

It was Xu Yun’s first time here. He knocked on the door.

Hearing the knock, Li Jinshu, who was on the sofa, walked over barefoot. She peeked through the peephole and, confirming it was Xu Yun, confidently opened the door.

She smiled. ”How did you get here so fast?”

”I was afraid you’d die of heat stroke without any water for a shower.”

Xu Yun produced a new, unopened phone box from behind his back and handed it to her. ”This is for you. It’s a top-of-the-line model, in cyan. I thought the color would suit you.”

”Why are you giving me a phone for no reason?”

”I was buying a phone, so I bought one for you too. Think of them as a matching set.”

Xu Yun grinned. ”Mine’s black.”

”Who wants a matching set with you?”

Li Jinshu protested verbally but still accepted the phone. She smiled and asked, ”What if Su Mu finds out?”

”If you don’t say anything, who’s going to know they’re a matching set?”

Noticing she was barefoot, Xu Yun bent down and swept her up in a princess carry, striding into the apartment.

”What are you doing?”

Li Jinshu was instantly flushed with a mix of shame and anger. ”That’s not why I asked you to come over! The water heater really is broken.”

’What are you thinking? I’m a respectable man.’

Holding her, Xu Yun said with a laugh, ”I was just going to tell you not to run around barefoot on the floor. You’ll make your feet rough.”

”What’s it to you?”

”Of course it’s my business.”

Xu Yun said, ”They’ll feel rough when I play with them later.”

”???”

A second later, Li Jinshu seemed to realize what he meant. Her face flushed red, and she spat, ”You big pervert!”

”If I weren’t a pervert, would you have slept with me yesterday?”

After setting Li Jinshu down, Xu Yun noticed something and gave her a meaningful look.

’And you say you’re not trying to seduce me!’

She was wearing a sexy, white silk lingerie set consisting of a camisole that bared her midriff and an ultra-short skirt. The semi-sheer material offered tantalizing glimpses of her perfect figure.

Most importantly, it looked like she wasn’t wearing anything underneath.

Top or bottom.

Honestly, what woman would dress like this in front of a man under normal circumstances?

’What a beautiful, scheming woman. I love it, I love it.’

Standing in front of the sofa, Li Jinshu suddenly felt Xu Yun’s predatory gaze on her and assumed his lust had been stirred.

She took a few steps back and said with a wary smile, ”Why are you looking at me like that? I’m warning you, don’t try anything funny, or I’ll scream.”

’Go on, keep up the act.’

”I’m waiting for you to show me the water heater,” Xu Yun said, not in any rush, feigning a calm smile. ”Hurry up. I have to go back after I fix it.”

”...” Li Jinshu was speechless.

On this point, he had actually misunderstood Li Jinshu.

He didn’t know that she had a habit of always dressing this way at home.

On top of that, since she and Xu Yun had already been intimate the day before, she had subconsciously let her guard down around him.

That was why this situation had occurred; she simply hadn’t realized.

Li Jinshu led Xu Yun to where the water heater was mounted in the kitchen. ”Look,” she said. ”When I turn on the hot water in the kitchen, the heater just keeps making this noise and won’t ignite. Then the display shows EOE.

Do you think it’s broken? Will we need to buy a new one?”

’So the water heater really is broken.’

Xu Yun turned his head. ”Don’t worry. Get me a stool. I’ll take a look and see what’s going on.”

”Okay.”
