Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Better to Be Careful, I Don’t Want to Be the Male Lead

Xu Yun had two criteria when picking out a bag.

First, his mom had to like it, which meant the bag needed to be big and able to hold a lot of things.

Second, the price had to be at least 50,000 yuan to help Ning Qian reach her 200,000 yuan sales target.

It wasn’t that he’d suddenly grown a bleeding heart.

It was just that working folks have it tough trying to earn a living. Besides, he was going to buy this stuff anyway, so what did it matter who he bought it from?

What’s more, whether Ning Qian was putting on an act or not, she had been relatively honest with him. At least she didn’t try to play him for a fool.

”This is the one.”

In the end, Xu Yun chose a large, coffee-colored shoulder bag that looked like a woven sack and cost over 50,000 yuan.

It was hideously ugly and expensive!

But he knew his mom would definitely love this bag.

Finally, he paid for it along with the clothes, totaling 210,000 yuan.

[Faced with a beautiful sales associate, the Host chose to Do as You Please by purchasing luxury clothes, helping her turn the tables and earning her extreme favor. Reward: 500,000 yuan in cash.]

His card balance was now 1,470,000 yuan.

”Congratulations, you’re the top seller now.”

Xu Yun gathered his things and said with a smile, ”Well, I’ll be going then.”

”Mr. Xu, wait a moment,” Ning Qian called out.

Xu Yun turned to look at her. ”What is it?”

”I get off work in half an hour.”

Ning Qian said, her face flushing slightly, ”Why don’t you find a coffee shop nearby and wait for me? I can help you take these clothes home.”

”...” Xu Yun was speechless.

Ning Qian’s hint couldn’t have been more obvious; any man would have understood.

’I spent the money, so of course I’d be willing to enjoy a little... extra service from her.’

He wasn’t a saint. After his breakup, he’d been starving for a few days.

’I might be rich now, but while a gourmet meal isn’t on the menu, a decent appetizer to tide me over would be nice.’

’The problem is, Mom’s at home. It’s not convenient.’

’As for a hotel...’

’Forget it. What if I get secretly filmed and end up on some porn site?’

Back in college, he’d seen plenty of those candid videos of other people online.

’Better to be careful. I have no desire to be the leading man in one of those.’

”Maybe next time. Treat me to a meal after you get your bonus.”

Xu Yun sighed internally. He could only politely refuse and turn to leave, feeling a bit helpless.

He thought to himself silently...

’Looks like I’ll have to plan on buying another apartment to have on standby.’

Ning Qian: ”...”

She couldn’t believe it. She had been so forward, and he still rejected her!

’He must look down on me.’

’He finds me distasteful!’

’Then again, it makes sense. A guy as tall, rich, and handsome as him must have tons of beautiful women after him. Who am I in comparison?’

Ning Qian, who had always been confident in her looks and figure, suddenly felt a pang of inferiority.

’Maybe in his eyes, a woman who would sleep with a man just to make a sale is dirty.’

’But I’m still clean, at least for now!’

She had only ever had one boyfriend, back in college.

And they hadn’t even slept together!

After they broke up upon graduation, she had remained single and chaste. When she had needs, she took care of them herself.

Though other customers had shown interest and dropped hints before, she had always ignored them.

This business of proactively adding a customer on WeChat was a recent development. She’d only convinced herself to compromise with life’s demands because she was truly short on cash.

Xu Yun was genuinely the first target she had ever actively pursued.

So, faced with Xu Yun’s rejection, Ning Qian suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of grievance!

After Xu Yun left, the other female sales associates all came over to congratulate Ning Qian.

That was 210,000 yuan just now, not 21!

The man bought it without even batting an eye.

It seemed Ning Qian had really latched onto a big spender this time.

They were filled with nothing but envy.

”Ning Qian, congratulations! This month’s top seller award is definitely yours.”

”Yeah, yeah, what a comeback from behind! Someone’s not going to be happy about this.”

”Ning Qian, don’t forget to treat us to a nice meal when you get your bonus.”

Ning Qian snapped back to reality, composed herself, and said with a smile, ”Of course, no problem. I’ll treat you all to a feast.”

”Well, well, Ning Qian.”

Wang Shengmei walked over, a disgruntled look on her face, and said sarcastically, ”I never would have guessed. You’ve got some impressive tricks up your sleeve, getting a guy to drop hundreds of thousands for you on the first try.”

Before, Ning Qian would have had to endure it.

But now, thanks to Xu Yun, she was the top seller. Of course she was going to fight back and vent a little.

She was already feeling bad about being rejected earlier.

”What, you want to know my ’tricks’?”

Ning Qian gave a scornful smile. ”Even if I told you, you couldn’t learn this move. Because for me, it was the first time. Can you say the same?”

”...”

Hearing this, Wang Shengmei’s expression turned cold.

She shot back, ”Don’t celebrate too early. You got lucky this month. If you’ve got what it takes, try and take the top seller spot from me again next month.”

”I refuse to believe you’ll have another ’first time’ to use.”

”Men are only in it for the novelty at first. Once they get what they want, they won’t be so generous.”

”What a pity.”

Ning Qian smiled, provoking her again. ”My ’first time’ is still intact. Mr. Xu came to me to buy clothes, and that’s all he wanted. He didn’t have any of those filthy ideas.”

”You think I’ll believe that?”

”Believe it or not.”

Ning Qian whispered in her ear, ”Do you know why I chased after him? Because even when I offered myself to him, he refused.”

”...” Wang Shengmei stared at Ning Qian in astonishment.

’A man who isn’t driven by lust? Does such a thing even exist in this world?!’

A moment later, she sneered, ”You don’t actually think he likes you, do you? Stop dreaming!”

Ning Qian was self-aware enough not to think that.

But she deliberately provoked her anyway, ”What if it’s true? Wouldn’t you just die of envy and jealousy?”

”I’m not going to get into a war of words with you.”

Wang Shengmei said dismissively, ”I hope you’re still this confident next month. We’ll see.”

”Oh, right.”

Ning Qian asked with a smile, ”When I get my bonus, do you want to come to dinner with us?”

”...” Wang Shengmei was speechless.

Her chest ached with anger!

...

After buying the clothes and the bag, Xu Yun returned home.

Zhang Sujuan was watching TV at home. She turned her head and smiled. ”You’re back from dinner with your colleagues?”

”Yeah.”

Xu Yun placed the bag he’d bought in front of his mom and said with a smile, ”Here. I was passing a store that was having a sale, so I picked up a bag for you. Do you like it?”

”It’s beautiful.”

Zhang Sujuan took it, opened it up to have a look, and said, ”It’s packaged so exquisitely. It must have been expensive, right?”

”Not at all. What’s so expensive about it?”

Xu Yun replied, ”It’s just nice packaging. It was actually really cheap. After the discount, it was less than 500 yuan.”

”You call 500 yuan cheap?”

Zhang Sujuan said, feeling the pinch, ”The bags I usually carry only cost one or two hundred yuan. They’re cheap and durable.”

”Mom, this is the big city. We should carry something a little nicer.”

’Good thing I didn’t tell her the bag cost over 50,000. She probably would have forced me to go back and return it on the spot.’

Hearing the words ”big city,” Zhang Sujuan suddenly fell silent for a moment, then said, ”Xu Yun, Mom wants to talk to you about something.”
