Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Too Invincible

At that moment, Xu Yun wasn’t excited. Instead, he felt his suffering over the past three years had been for nothing!

’Three years! Do you have any idea how I’ve lived these past three years?’

For three years, to save money for the wedding, he was worked like a dog by his superiors at the company every single day.

He worked insane overtime, took on part-time jobs, didn’t drink, didn’t gamble, didn’t frequent prostitutes, and had zero social life. He couldn’t even bring himself to splurge on a KFC family bucket.

After three years of painstaking effort, he had only managed to save a little under 200,000.

And now, just because he’d stopped holding back and followed his heart, the system had given him 200,000 all at once.

’If I’d known that calling off the wedding would activate the system and get me rewards, I would’ve stopped putting up with it long ago!’

’I might have lacked confidence before, but now that I have a cheat system, why would I be afraid of not finding a woman?’

’A clean break. I have to cut things off completely with Huang Mengyao.’

’I won’t give her any chance to come back.’

With this in mind, Xu Yun stood up, paid the bill, and walked out of the coffee shop.

Out of habit, Xu Yun pulled out his phone and tried to hail a Didi Express.

But it was evening rush hour and a lot of people were trying to get a ride. Even after waiting for over ten minutes, no driver had accepted his request; he was still in the queue.

Suddenly, he remembered his ”Do as You Please” System.

’I have the ”Do as You Please” System, for fuck’s sake! Why should I put up with this inconvenience?’

’I’ll switch. Definitely.’

Xu Yun immediately switched to the premium car service, the one with the fewest users and no queue.

In the past, he would have been reluctant to spend the extra money, but things were different now. He didn’t need to agonize over the cost anymore.

Scarcely ten seconds after Xu Yun requested the car, a driver accepted the ride.

’So fast!’

A moment later, a pristine Mercedes E-Class pulled up in front of him. The driver asked, ”Sir, are you the customer whose number ends in 7625?”

”Yes, I am.”

Hearing this, the driver immediately got out, courteously opened the rear passenger door for him, and stood aside with a smile. ”Please, sir.”

Xu Yun was speechless.

’Have to admit,’ he thought, ’the service at this price point is really something else.’

「Half an hour later.」

The car pulled to a smooth stop at the entrance of his residential complex, and the driver got out to open the door for him.

Xu Yun stepped out of the car.

”Thanks.”

”Have a good one, sir. And please don’t forget the five-star review.”

The moment Xu Yun completed the payment on his phone, the system’s voice sounded again.

[For his daily commute, the Host no longer agonized over price, instead choosing his preferred method of travel as he pleased. Reward: 50,000 in cash.]

’A 50,000 reward, just like that?’

’I get money just for taking a car whenever I feel like it. This system seems even more impulsive than I am.’

’No wonder it’s called the ”Do as You Please” System. The name really fits.’

Xu Yun was suddenly curious. ’If there were a private jet service, and I ordered one for a trip, I wonder how much the system would reward me.’

But that was just a fleeting thought.

After all, there were ride-hailing apps, but no plane-hailing apps... yet.

「Back at home.」

The sight of a pair of women’s slippers by the door made Xu Yun’s anger flare. He snatched them up and threw them into the trash can.

Then he went through the apartment and began clearing out Huang Mengyao’s belongings.

Once everything was sorted and packed, he called a courier for a pickup and had it all mailed directly to her parents’ house.

By the time he was finished, it was already between six and seven in the evening.

Seeing how much space had been freed up in his home, Xu Yun felt a great sense of relief. But he was also exhausted. Without even stopping to eat, he collapsed onto his bed and immediately fell asleep.

....

The next morning, Xu Yun woke up in a daze.

He was just about to call out for Huang Mengyao when he paused. Then, he remembered.

’Right. I already broke up with her.’

Just then, his phone rang. It was Manager Li from his company.

Xu Yun frowned. A call from that guy on a day off was never good news.

It was always about overtime.

Before yesterday, he might have agreed to it for the sake of his job and the money.

But now...

’Sorry, but who the fuck do you think you are?’

He was done indulging him and accepting pointless overtime. He hung up the phone.

After getting ready, Xu Yun went downstairs, had breakfast, and then ordered a premium car with a single tap, heading straight for his hometown.

The one-way trip was over 300 kilometers on the highway.

By the time he arrived, it was already noon. His mom, Zhang Sujuan, had lunch ready and was waiting for him.

She had also packed up all the things he needed to take with him.

”Mom,” Xu Yun called out affectionately as he walked in.

”You finally made it! Any later and the food would’ve gotten cold.”

After speaking, Zhang Sujuan glanced behind Xu Yun. Seeing that he was alone, she asked with a puzzled look, ”Where’s Mengyao? Didn’t she come with you?”

”Oh, she couldn’t make it.”

Xu Yun said with a smile, ”Let’s eat, I’m starving. After we finish, you’re coming to Jiangcheng with me.”

”Alright.”

Zhang Sujuan smiled happily. ”Perfect. The lease on this rental is up anyway. I’ve already told the landlord I won’t be renewing.”

”Once I’m in Jiangcheng, and after you and Mengyao get married and have a baby, I can focus on helping you two take care of the child.”

Xu Yun was touched.

A year ago, to help him buy an apartment in Jiangcheng for his marriage, his mother had sold her own large house to cover the down payment.

She, in turn, had been renting this small, thirty-square-meter apartment ever since.

’And what kind of girlfriend did I find? One who didn’t even want my mom to live with us.’

Thinking about it now made him so angry he wanted to give her a couple of slaps across the face.

After the meal, Xu Yun looked at all the bags she had packed. ”Mom, let’s leave some of this behind. Just bring a few changes of clothes for now. Whatever you’re missing once we’re there, I’ll buy you new things.”

”But all of this is still perfectly usable.”

Zhang Sujuan said, ”You shouldn’t spend money recklessly. You’re about to get married, you need to save.”

”Mom, relax. If I say we don’t need it, we don’t need it.”

Xu Yun said with a laugh, ”Your son can make good money now. I’m not short on cash.”

”Oh, you. Bragging again. Don’t I know exactly what your salary is?”

”Don’t underestimate your son.”

Xu Yun said, ”Let’s go. Just listen to me. Besides, the car won’t be able to fit all this stuff anyway.”

”Oh... alright then.”

Xu Yun led his mom downstairs. The premium car driver, who was waiting, saw them and quickly opened the trunk, taking the suitcases from them and helping load the luggage.

The journey was another three hours or so.

Zhang Sujuan had no idea that Xu Yun had broken up with Huang Mengyao, so she spent the entire ride talking nonstop about various matters related to the wedding.

She was worried that Xu Yun might have overlooked some detail and cause the bride’s family to lose face.

Seeing this, Xu Yun wasn’t sure how to break the news to his mother.

’I’ll just tell her when we get home,’ he decided.

That evening, Xu Yun and his mom finally returned to the bustling city of Jiangcheng.

The premium car ride cost him a total of 2,500 yuan.

But the system’s reward came almost immediately.

[A mother’s love is priceless. The Host acted on his filial desire to bring his mother home. Reward: 100,000 in cash.]

’Huh? This reward wasn’t for taking the car.’

’In other words, the system doesn’t just reward spending money. Acting on my ”moral” impulses works too?’

’This is insane. Absolutely insane.’

Zhang Sujuan followed Xu Yun into the apartment. The moment she stepped inside, she sensed that something was off.

There were no women’s slippers by the door, and the apartment felt somewhat empty. None of a woman’s belongings were in sight.

To confirm her suspicion, she took a look inside the bathroom.

And then, her expression changed.
