Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: What Man Doesn’t Like Seafood?

The moment work ended, Xu Yun was the first to slip away.

Spending even one extra minute at the company was an insult to his Divine Rich System.

By the time Su Mu walked out of her office, he was already gone.

’He ran off so fast!’

She frowned. ’Is he off to see that Ning Qian again?’

And she was right.

Xu Yun had promised Ning Qian he would take her out for a nice meal once she was feeling better.

So, before work ended today, he had arranged with Ning Qian to wait for him downstairs at her employee dormitory. He was taking her out for a good meal tonight.

Keeping an eye on the time, Ning Qian applied some delicate, light makeup, told her roommates she was leaving, and went to the entrance of her residential complex to wait for Xu Yun.

She was dressed simply tonight in a pink short-sleeved t-shirt and a pair of washed, tight-fitting jeans. It was a casual look, but it perfectly accentuated her figure.

Curvy in all the right places.

A moment later, a familiar red convertible sports car pulled up in front of her.

Xu Yun smiled. ”Hey beautiful, need a ride?”

”Sure.”

Ning Qian opened the car door, expertly slid into the passenger seat, and said with a smile, ”It’s rush hour. I thought you’d be a little later.”

”You know my skills.”

Xu Yun asked, ”So, where do you want to eat tonight? Don’t be shy.”

”I don’t know.”

Ning Qian replied, ”I’ll eat wherever you take me.”

”Then let’s go to a hot pot place called Shangfang. I’ve heard good things about it.”

Xu Yun had always heard people say this hot pot restaurant had great seafood, but he’d never been.

The reason, of course, was that he used to be poor.

Today was the perfect chance for him to take Ning Qian and experience it together.

”Okay.”

Ning Qian agreed.

Her income meant she could never eat at such expensive places, so she didn’t know much about high-end restaurants.

But she had heard of this high-rise restaurant Xu Yun mentioned.

She’d heard the food was delicious and the night view was spectacular. She had once seen Wang Shengmei post on her social media about eating there.

She never thought she’d finally get the chance to experience it with Xu Yun.

An hour later, Xu Yun and Ning Qian took the elevator up to their destination.

As they were about to enter the restaurant, Ning Qian subconsciously took a small step back.

It was a physical sign of her lack of confidence.

And it was precisely this action that unintentionally highlighted Xu Yun’s status.

The lobby manager immediately knew who was in charge between the two of them.

He approached Xu Yun and asked, ”Good evening, sir. Welcome to Shangfang Hot Pot Restaurant. How many in your party?”

”Just the two of us.”

Xu Yun asked as he walked inside, ”Do you have any tables by the window with a view of the river?”

”All the tables in the main dining hall have been reserved.”

The lobby manager replied, ”However, we do have a VIP private room that can accommodate ten people. You can see the entire night view of the River Beach from there as well.

Plus, it’s quieter with a better view. The only thing is, there’s an additional fee for the private room—2,000 yuan.”

’Two thousand yuan.’

Hearing this, Ning Qian was shocked. ’Just the room fee alone is 2,000 yuan? That’s too expensive!’

”Xu Yun, maybe we should forget it. Sitting in the main hall is fine.”

”When you come here to eat, you’re supposed to enjoy seafood while looking at the river view.”

Xu Yun smiled and said casually to the lobby manager, ”We’ll take the private room. Lead the way.”

”Right away, sir.”

The lobby manager hadn’t expected him to agree so readily, without the slightest hesitation.

He realized Xu Yun was probably a rich second-generation heir who wasn’t short on cash.

Following the manager, the two arrived at the exclusive VIP room, and Ning Qian’s eyes lit up.

The room was huge. If they squeezed together, it could probably fit twenty people.

’It seems like such a waste for just the two of them.’

And compared to the noise outside, it was indeed much more elegant and quiet in here, and the decor was exquisite.

Ning Qian walked to the window. It was a massive floor-to-ceiling window offering a 360-degree, unobstructed bird’s-eye view of the entire River Beach area at night. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

”Alright, you can look later.”

Xu Yun casually found a seat and sat down, saying with a smile, ”Let’s eat first. We can watch the view while we eat.”

”Oh.” Ning Qian walked over and sat down next to Xu Yun.

’In such an expensive place, it seems only by sitting next to him can I calm my fluttering heart and feel a sense of security.’

Xu Yun said to the lobby manager, ”Bring over your biggest and best seafood. I’d like to take a look first.”

”Of course.”

Having guessed that his customer was likely a rich heir, the lobby manager had someone bring over the best, biggest, and most expensive seafood the restaurant had in stock that day.

A moment later, as Ning Qian and Xu Yun watched, a giant Emperor crab in a wooden box was wheeled in.

Ning Qian couldn’t help but ask in amazement, ”Just how big is that crab?”

”Around twenty jin,” the lobby manager replied.

Ning Qian subconsciously glanced at the tag hanging from the wooden box.

30,000 yuan!

’A single crab actually costs 30,000 yuan!’

It was also the first time Xu Yun had seen such a large crab. One of its big claws was thicker than his arm.

But he remained composed and said nonchalantly, ”Alright, I’ll take this one.”

”Excellent, sir.”

Next, another waiter wheeled in a huge king crab.

This time, the lobby manager took the initiative to introduce it. ”This one is a full ten jin. It’s quite a rare find, just flown in today.”

”Fine, I’ll take this one too.”

Beside him, Ning Qian habitually glanced at the price tag: 8,000 yuan.

’One is 30,000, the other is 8,000.’

’Oh my god.’

’Just these two dishes, plus the room fee, is already over 40,000 yuan.’

Then, Xu Yun proceeded to order a black gold abalone weighing over two jin, a large New Zealand rock lobster over eight jin, and a leopard coral grouper over five jin.

’I can’t even begin to calculate the total cost anymore.’

’In any case, this one meal will definitely cost more than half a year of my salary.’

When everyone had left to prepare the food, Ning Qian whispered, ”We ordered so much. Can we finish it all?”

”Seafood looks big, but once you peel away the shells, there isn’t that much meat.”

Xu Yun chuckled. ”Since I brought you here to eat, we should eat our fill and eat well. Don’t hold back later, okay?”

”Mm-hm.”

Soon, all the prepared seafood was brought in, along with a variety of dipping sauces.

At first, Ning Qian was a bit reserved, afraid of being unladylike or eating inelegantly and embarrassing Xu Yun.

But when she saw Xu Yun’s ”barbaric” style—grabbing a piece of claw meat with one hand, dipping it in sauce, and taking huge bites—she realized you could actually eat like that even in a high-end restaurant.

Seeing her just staring at him without moving, Xu Yun smiled and urged her, ”Go on, eat. Don’t just stand there gawking. It’s just the two of us in this room. No one will see you being ’inelegant’.”

”Mm-hm.”

Influenced by Xu Yun, Ning Qian finally let herself go for the first time, faced with seafood she normally couldn’t even dream of eating.

She paid no mind to her image.

After all...

what woman doesn’t love to eat seafood?

They both ate with great relish.

In the end, through their combined efforts, they successfully finished most of it. What was left, was left.

Full and satisfied, Xu Yun moved a chair over to the floor-to-ceiling window, sat down leisurely, and admired the river view before him, soaking in the lifestyle of the rich.

’I have nearly five million yuan in my account now, but that only sets me apart from ordinary people.’

’In the eyes of the truly wealthy, I’m probably still just a broke loser who couldn’t be any poorer.’

’After all, any random person from the Forbes list is worth hundreds of millions, or even billions.’

’Just yesterday, I saw a real estate story in the news on my phone about an old mansion in the Jing’an District being bought for over 300 million yuan.’

’I heard the agent’s commission alone was over nine million yuan.’

’So even with my cheat system, I’m still a million miles away from being a true ’divine rich’ person in the real world.’

’I still have a long way to go.’

’Fortunately, I don’t have any grand ambitions of becoming the richest man in the world.’

’As long as I can live my life without worrying about money, live freely, and live by the principle of ’Do as You Please,’ that’s enough for me.’

’This is also in line with the ’Do as You Please’ principle of my system.’

Ning Qian quietly accompanied him, but instead of looking at the river view, she was looking at the side of Xu Yun’s face.

’He’s so different from the rich people I know, have heard about, or have ever imagined.’

’Even though he knows I’m with him for his money, he still respects me and is considerate of my feelings, instead of treating me like a sex toy.’

’Someone to be used when he wants and then tossed aside and ignored.’

’During our first time together, he was considerate of my feelings, concerned about my well-being, and he even brought me to eat all this delicious food.’

’If only I could stay with Xu Yun like this for the rest of my life.’

’Even if I had no official status, just being his mistress, I would be willing.’

’But I know that’s impossible.’

’A man like Xu Yun... his heart will always be looking forward...’

’All I can do is try my best to make him like me a little more, to make his attention linger on me for just a little while longer.’
