This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

”Xiao Du, you still remember the favor you promised me last time, right?”

Li Jianwei came straight up to Du Heng and asked the question, which immediately muddled Du Heng’s thoughts. He quickly tried to recall what Li Jianwei was talking about, but he couldn’t remember anything, not even a vague impression.

After a dazed couple of seconds, he asked, ”Could you remind me, Teacher? I’ve been a bit dizzy from being busy these days.”

Li Jianwei looked at Du Heng with an ”I knew it” expression. ”It’s about introducing you to my wife’s niece. It seems you were just humoring me last time.”

Du Heng suddenly realized.

During the New Year period, he had already agreed to several blind date introductions, from his big brother, Zhu Heizi, and even his leader, An Chunhui, who also showed concern for his personal life and volunteered to introduce him to potential partners. And now there was Li Jianwei as well. With so many people involved, he was getting a little confused. Moreover, after such a long time, none of them had come back with any updates, so he hadn’t really been keeping track.

Now that Li Jianwei brought it up, it seemed there was some progress. He quickly apologized to Li Jianwei with a smile, ”Teacher, you misunderstand. How could I possibly just humor you? It’s just that work has been hectic these past few days, and with Wu Shengnan’s situation, it’s all made me a bit muddled.”

As he spoke, his smile grew brighter. ”Hearing you say that, Teacher, does that mean you have news on your end?”

Li Jianwei took Du Heng back to the office. ”My wife’s niece was quite satisfied after seeing your photo and hearing your introduction. She has agreed to meet you.”

After they both sat down, Li Jianwei took out his phone and showed Du Heng the photo of the girl in question.

Upon glancing at it, Du Heng didn’t really see anything special. He just smiled and said, ”She looks good.”

In fact, he honestly wasn’t picky at this point. In terms of appearance and figure, there weren’t many who could surpass Wang Shuqiu, so he really didn’t have high expectations in those areas. All he wanted was someone with regular features and a figure that wasn’t out of shape. His only real requirement might be that he expected more when it came to their personality and habits. Moreover, girls nowadays always wore makeup and used beauty filters for their photos. Plus, Li Jianwei showed him one of the girl’s glamour shots, so it held little reference value. Du Heng even suspected that if he were to meet her holding this photo, he might not recognize her even if they came face-to-face.

However, the introducer was Li Jianwei, whom he considered his teacher. After interacting for over a year, he knew Li Jianwei was a good person and wouldn’t deliberately set him up. So, he agreed to meet her, thinking a chat would be fine.

”Alright, Teacher, you can arrange it,” Du Heng readily agreed.

Li Jianwei’s smile grew even wider. ”I’ve already made arrangements for you. It’s today at 3 p.m. at XX Café, at the intersection in front of our hospital. You two can meet there.”

As he spoke, he passed the girl’s contact information along. ”You guys can get in touch directly when it’s time.”

”Okay, thank you, Teacher.”

”What’s there to thank me for? Whether it works out or not depends on you two.”

Du Heng saved the contact information and immediately excused himself from Li Jianwei, heading to the Pharmacy with Gu Ping.

Gu Ping followed behind Du Heng, her face full of curiosity. ”Mr. Du, you’re going on a blind date?”

This question left Du Heng a bit unsure how to answer. He scratched his nose and said, ”I’m getting older, and my family is anxious for me to get married. I’d better go on blind dates and get it over with.”

His answer was a bit awkward, but it managed to steer them away from the slightly embarrassing topic.

When they arrived at the Pharmacy, Du Heng found the pharmacist and explained his needs for this occasion.

Strictly speaking, the medicinal ointment he needed to make this time was not the same as the ”Whole Body Divine Ointment” he had made before. He had already made many adjustments based on Wu Shengnan’s recovery.

The Chinese medicine pharmacy and ointment production room at Provincial First Hospital were on a completely different level compared to the Health Clinic. The variety of medicinal ingredients was comprehensive, and the equipment was even more advanced. More importantly, there were many professionals there. As long as Du Heng stated his requirements, he could just watch as the rest was completed in a streamlined production process, resulting in a geometric increase in efficiency. A preparation that would have taken three to four hours to complete at the Health Clinic took Du Heng only two hours here. Not only did he get what he needed, but he also received more than expected.

Checking the quality and smelling the aroma, it was hardly distinguishable from what he had made by hand.

As he walked out with the supplies, Du Heng felt envious. He envied Provincial First Hospital for having such a professional team of Chinese medicine pharmacists. In his own Health Clinic, apart from himself and Doctor Shi from the Pharmacy, only Wu Buwei had some practical skills, thanks to his training. As for the others, even a middle-aged Chinese Medicine Doctor like Han Yujian, while able to write usable prescriptions, was practically useless when it came to personally preparing medicines like ointments. However, such things couldn’t be obtained through envy. After all, under current medical regulations and with the development of pharmaceutical companies, pharmacists were in high demand. A top hospital like Provincial First Hospital could afford such conditions, while his Health Clinic could only wistfully imagine having them.

Lost in these reflections, he had already returned to Wu Shengnan’s hospital room.

However, the hospital room was much quieter now. Everyone was gone, even the young nanny who had returned to prepare food. Only Sir Wu Zhong was accompanying Wu Shengnan. After inquiring, Du Heng learned that Sir Wu Zhong had gone out to the smoking room for a cigarette.
