This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Du Ping scolded Du Heng, but Du Heng didn’t care and directly told Du Ping to get down from the bed. ”Hurry up and get down; I’ll fix you up.”

Du Ping also wanted to move quickly, but the moment he dared to use even a little strength, the pain under his ribs would contort his entire body.

He inched along, bit by bit, shuffling carefully. It took a great deal of effort before he finally moved from the bed to the bedside. He slowly turned around. Just as his legs touched the ground and he felt he could catch his breath, Du Heng suddenly grabbed his right hand and yanked it forward.

The sudden pain startled Du Ping greatly. His whole body involuntarily lurched towards Du Heng with the pull, and he couldn’t stop crying out, ”Ouch! Ouch!”

But unexpectedly, Du Heng, still holding Du Ping’s arm, met his leaning body and abruptly shoved him back.

Then a ”CRACK” sound was heard, immediately followed by Du Ping’s pain-filled curses.

But before he could get out more than a couple of curses, he quickly bent his arm, clutched his ribs, and gasped in shallow breaths.

While catching his breath, Du Ping glared at Du Heng, his murderous gaze completely unconcealed.

Du Heng, however, just stood there with a grin, watching Du Ping.

Du Ping felt he had caught his breath and said with a livid face, ”You useless punk, are you out of your mind?”

Du Heng still didn’t mind Du Ping’s scolding. He smiled and pointed at Du Ping’s painful rib area. ”Don’t just focus on scolding me. Look at which hand you’re using to clutch your ribs.”

Du Ping followed Du Heng’s finger and only then realized that the hand covering his ribs was his right hand, the one that had just been dislocated.

It was also at this moment that he realized his shoulder didn’t hurt as much as before. Instead, a dull, aching sensation filled his entire shoulder, and his whole arm felt heavy and somewhat weak, as if he couldn’t exert any strength.

He moved his arm slightly and stared at Du Heng with wide eyes. ”You fixed it already?”

”Yes, it’s fixed,” Du Heng said, looking at his older brother with a smile.

Although his shoulder was reset, the more Du Ping thought about it, the angrier he became. He wished he could beat Du Heng up right then and there. That moment had been brief, but the intense pain from the sudden twist had aggravated the pain from his qi deviation, making him feel as if his very liver were trembling.

He said coldly, ”Couldn’t you have told me beforehand? Did you think I could endure such a sudden maneuver?”

Glancing at Du Ping’s twitching palm, clearly itching to strike, Du Heng wisely kept his distance, standing about a meter away. ”The shoulder joint is a large joint, and performing a reduction there is physically demanding. It would be very difficult for me to do it alone using the standard method.

Besides, you currently have that qi deviation under your ribs, so I couldn’t risk using too much force. This was for your own good, to lessen your suffering, wasn’t it?”

Hearing Du Heng’s explanation, Du Ping’s anger didn’t subside in the slightest; instead, his nostrils seemed to flare even wider.

”Alright, we won’t talk about that. How are you going to treat this qi deviation of mine? You’re not going to pull something like that again, are you?”

Du Heng shook his head vigorously. ”Bone setting relies on the element of surprise. If I tried that with your qi deviation, you’d probably just collapse. Let’s go outside. I’ll use some burning alcohol to rub the area and loosen it up.”

”What’s ’burning alcohol’?”

”It’s when I light some alcohol and use the burning liquid to rub you. It helps by activating blood circulation and dispersing blood stasis, which aids muscle recovery from sprains and strains.”

Du Ping nodded. ”Alright. Come over and give me some support. We’ll do it outside.”

Seeing his older brother’s beckoning hand, Du Heng flatly refused. ”You can walk out yourself. You have a qi deviation affecting your ribs; it’s not like your legs are injured.”

With that, he walked out of the bedroom first.

He was sure that if he dared to go over, Du Ping would definitely let him experience what ’a brother’s painful affection’ truly meant once more.

Just as he stepped out of the bedroom, he saw Du Xuejing walking in with chopsticks and a dish. ”Little Uncle, where’s My Dad?”

Du Heng glanced back. ”He’s still in there. Go give him a hand.”

”Why don’t you help him?”

Du Heng glared at his clueless niece. ”I’m afraid of getting hit. You hurry up and go in.”

With that, he walked over to the TV and picked up a bottle of cheap, leftover liquor, the kind that cost a few tens of yuan. As for the good liquor he had bought for Du Ping, not only was the liquor itself gone, but even the bottles had been taken by those who drank it that evening.

He walked over with the liquor and nudged Du Yi’s head. ”Stop watching TV. Go to the kitchen and get a small saucer.”

”I’m not going!” Du Yi was completely engrossed in the TV, which was currently blaring ”Dark Light Beam!” He didn’t want to go to the kitchen at all.

”Are you going or not? If you don’t, I’m turning off the TV.”

”Hmph! Fine, I’ll go.”

Seeing Du Heng reach for the remote, Du Yi bolted towards the kitchen. He reappeared before Du Heng in less than thirty seconds, holding a small saucer. Meanwhile, the ”Dark Light Beam” attack he had wanted to see had already finished, and the little monster was defeated.

Du Yi snorted angrily, put down the saucer, and pouted as he picked up the remote. He then skillfully pressed the rewind button.

Just then, Du Ping slowly walked out of the bedroom, unassisted by Du Xuejing.

Du Heng glanced at the emerging Du Ping, then lowered his head to pour the liquor into the saucer. He found Du Ping’s lighter from under the coffee table and tore a piece of paper from Du Yi’s notebook.

CLICK.

The paper caught fire and was immediately tossed by Du Heng into the saucer in front of him. A pale blue flame, mingled with a hint of orange, instantly flared up, and the room quickly filled with the faint scent of alcohol.
