One-Eyed Monster

Elder Rostellum is a politician with the skill to sense sounds. Although he does not know what kind of mission these big figures carry, he can perceive what they want to express.

First, these people all have a strong interest in Guru Mountain. However, due to the previous issues with the Alchemy Workshop, they are currently unable to take action because whatever secret was on that mountain has already been taken.

Secondly, these people came for the Governor’s son. Now that they see that the young master is unharmed, the worry in their hearts has finally been relieved.

Elder Rostellum sensed these emotional nuances early on.

Therefore, he knew how to write this report, even though he understood many of the details only superficially. That did not matter; his sound sensing skill as a politician told him what to do, and delivering the message well was all he needed to accomplish.

Thus, Elder Rostellum was very adept at this aspect.

He wrote the report smoothly and quickly.

Then he walked over to Nakasha with flattery and servility, a trait he was born with. He didn’t behave this way in front of the Alchemy Workshop nor Mayor Babasha, because back then he knew nothing, and his interests were not yet threatened.

Now it’s different. His chain of interests has been completely severed, and if he doesn’t come up with a strategy, he might lose even more. To avoid this, he had to flatter these prominent figures, then plan his own little calculations. Without gold coins, he would have no life, which is more important than anything. He would do anything for gold coins.

Nakasha took Elder Rostellum’s draft, pondering what kind of report this politician who knew nothing of their mission could possibly write, knowing he would definitely have to make amendments.

At first glance, it was completely a report in the politician’s style—neat and courteous.

At the second glance, he couldn’t sit still and stood up from his chair.

At the third glance, his eyes widened in disbelief.

At the fourth glance, he was stunned and motionless on the spot.

Elder Rostellum felt it was all normal, with nothing unusual, confident in his abilities in this regard.

He was, after all, a politician, who once had the opportunity to ascend to higher levels of power, but he refused because the higher the level, the more constrained he felt, unable to exert himself and earn more gold coins.

This point was the most crucial; gold coins were his greatest love.

He knew his report had already gained the approval of this big figure.

Nakasha looked at the report, then at this bearded man with incredulity in his eyes.

He wasn’t amazed at the man’s speed or neat writing, but because it struck a chord with him!

Although there are more details to be added to the content, everything Nakasha wanted to express was already in the report!

This politician truly was a rare talent!

Nakasha even thought about recommending this politician to the Lord Governor, feeling certain that his talents could secure him a place in the City Administrative Office!

He wanted to express their hard work, and the report reflected that. He didn’t want to say they did nothing, and the report left no trace of them being idle; instead, it showed them as very busy. He didn’t want to say the young master returned by himself, and the report didn’t mention it at all...

”Not bad, I just need to add a bit more and it can be sent out.” Nakasha was very satisfied; at this moment, his inner chaos was finally calmed, thanks truly to Elder Rostellum.

Nakasha gave the report to his subordinates to review, who all showed varying degrees of amazement after reading it, obviously satisfied with the report.

Elder Rostellum did not let this make him arrogant; he was saving time for himself, nothing to be proud of.

The saved time was for obtaining more gold coins.

Nakasha looked at the report content and increasingly was pleased, thinking the Lord Governor would surely be satisfied, allowing them to conclude their business at this place early.

This Gaga County’s Guru Village, the wine is subpar, they’ve had enough!

The sooner they finish, the sooner they can return, maybe even catch the excitement of the Torch Festival...

Nakasha slowly unfolded the report.

It contained just a few long phrases.

Lord Governor, we have arrived at Guru Mountain as instructed.

No abnormalities found, the Alchemy Workshop folks had already taken a loop around the mountain before we arrived, with no new discoveries, merely warning us that the important thing on this mountain has been taken by a group called the Black Crow.

The members of this Black Crow organization did many things on this mountain, including injuring the Mayor of Liuli City. Now this faction has been subdued, and all Black Crow members who came to Guru Mountain have been killed.

Young Master Hustace has been placed in the tavern at the foot of Guru Mountain, his health is good but shows some fatigue.

Everything at the mountain’s base is under control.

In a few brief words, all the happenings on the mountain have been summarized.

Moreover, it doesn’t mention that they did nothing upon arriving at this mountain.

The report describes them as persistently working to control the situation, making it an exemplary report.

Nakasha felt this bearded politician was truly extraordinary, contemplating that if his position ever rose, he would surely bring this man to his side, needing nothing else from him but report writing.

Thus, he called Elder Rostellum over, discussing the additional content he wanted to include in the report, having already placed a great deal of trust in him.

Indeed, Elder Rostellum was a simple person, with no ambition or malice; as long as there were coins, he would do anything.

Elder Rostellum wrote the report as instructed by Nakasha, then sent it through the Mail Bird System.

Before long, the Lord Governor far away in Luona would receive the message sent by the Mail Bird, and subsequently send it back, bringing new orders to these people.

The new orders would likely involve retreating; Elder Rostellum had already thought it through. For these lofty figures, there was nothing worth lingering for here. The wine was bad, the food was not tasty, and there were not many wandering bards or dancing girls; no one wanted to stay in this place.

Those who lingered here were likely ones harboring dreams of making a fortune.

He was such a person, harboring the dream of earning gold coins on his own terms, not looking at others’ faces.

Though this dream seemed inconspicuous, in Elder Rostellum’s eyes, it was quite extraordinary.
