One-Eyed Monster

Igor found it hard to understand this matter. Why would such a respected mentor among all wizards sneer at the unified wizard robe of all wizards? It didn’t make sense.

”Then, what robe does Lord Soron wear?” Igor asked timidly.

”Haha, Lord Soron doesn’t have a wizard robe. It’s unclear what robe he wears, but that doesn’t stop him from being a great wizard. Moreover, he’s a brave adventurer, and possibly a scholar...”

”Could he also be an alchemist?” Igor asked, feeling uncomfortable with the exaggerations of the Spirit Book, and he naturally followed this line.

”Indeed, Lord Soron has also accomplished much in alchemy!”

Igor’s face darkened immediately. This was embarrassing. No, he needed to verify this matter carefully. He couldn’t let the Spirit Book spin wild tales.

By the way, the Great Mentor and Lord Soron are old friends despite their age difference, he should know some deeds of Soron...

”Wait a moment, I need to verify this!” Igor said and walked towards the direction of the Great Mentor. Although he wasn’t far away, to avoid disturbing the discussion of the mentors, Igor kept a distance with the Spirit Book from the monsters of Guru Mountain.

The Great Witch Biggs had also heard the words of the Spirit Book a while ago. Of course, she had seen before the descriptions of wizard robes in that book, but she didn’t read them because it was a line of small characters, an appendix that could be ignored, especially considering the Spirit Book was not quite cooperative at that time.

But now, hearing the Spirit Book’s description, she realized that Lord Soron indeed didn’t have a wizard robe, which was unknown to them. Lord Soron was acclaimed as the greatest wizard, even though it hadn’t been decades yet, but his accomplishments surpassing predecessors were undeniable. Yet, such a great wizard didn’t have a wizard robe, which was hard to imagine. In the mind of the Great Witch and others, Lord Soron must surely be a Holy Robe Wizard...

However, the reality was entirely different from their expectations. Although many things needed verification, hearing the Spirit Book speak of Lord Soron like this for the first time was quite surprising.

As a result, the Great Witch found herself speechless. Already anxious about the future, her understanding had been shattered, overturning her entire life experience.

This kind of upheaval has a significant impact on a person, even if it appears insignificant.

At this moment, the Great Witch’s mood shifted from anxious to incredibly complex. The complexity made her even more silent.

The Spirit Book also fell silent at this moment. It was waiting for Igor; it had discussed wizard robes sufficiently. As a Spirit Book, it wouldn’t lie, so it didn’t understand what Igor was going to verify.

But a master is still a master, after all, no matter how much it wonders. So now, it’s just waiting there...

Igor moved among the monsters, scratching his head, not knowing how to start the conversation, especially seeing the mentors in heated discussions.

”Eh, why have you come over? Weren’t you just arguing with the Spirit Book over there?” The Spirit Book’s tone a while ago carried a hint of excitement, its voice a bit loud, causing these monsters to mistakenly think it was an argument.

”No, it wasn’t a quarrel. I’m here to verify some things.”

”Hehehe, you say it wasn’t, but you’re here to verify,”

Igor had no words to defend himself, but his inner desire to verify outweighed other matters, so he didn’t bother to explain himself, directly getting to the point.

”Mentor, you have had interactions with Lord Soron. I want to know whether Lord Soron has accomplishments in alchemy as well.”

The question was abrupt, and the Great Mentor and others were stunned.

”Hmm?” Igor twisted his head, seeking verification once more.

”Oh, oh, why are you asking this question!” Everyone found his question quite surprising.

”Well, it’s a long story. I just want to know the answer first...” Igor’s urgency was evident.

”Lord Soron has notable achievements in various fields, but he is also a unique individual, particularly prominent in spellcraft and exploration.” The Great Mentor answered Igor’s question earnestly.

”Oh!” Igor sighed meaningfully, ”Turns out that guy wasn’t lying.”

”That guy?” Everyone was quite interested in Igor’s term.

”Uh, it’s the Spirit Book.”

”Haha, generally speaking, the Spirit Book cannot lie. Only the author of the book could potentially convey falsehoods.”

”Well... The Spirit Book also said that Lord Soron didn’t have a wizard robe... I’m finding it hard to discern!” Igor expressed his confusion honestly.

Indeed, he was confused now. He knew Lord Soron was a great figure in the Yowein Continent’s professional world, respected by many people, but he couldn’t entirely disprove his previous understanding.

”To be precise, Lord Soron doesn’t have a wizard robe, but that doesn’t hinder his achievements in the wizard domain.” Yuga said, the Holy Robe Wizard, still a loyal admirer of Soron.

”But without a wizard robe, how could he be recognized as a wizard?” Igor continued to ask.

”In Soron’s era, wizard robes were not entirely formed. Naturally, he didn’t agree with the Wizard Robe System...” Yuga continued, seemingly somewhat helpless about this matter.

”Lord Soron advocated freedom; his ideals were far nobler than ours.” The Great Mentor continued to explain, ”However, regarding the wizard robe matter, the Wizard Alliance probably hasn’t recorded much.”

”The saying within the Wizard Alliance is that Lord Soron did not agree with the Wizard Robe System, but the specific reason wasn’t mentioned. Some speculate it’s because Lord Soron couldn’t reach the Holy Robe level, so he didn’t want to publicly disclose his true rank. This might have been his personal agenda, of course, this is also based on the words of the first-generation leader of the Wizard Alliance, Lord Ennis, which we can only take as reference.”

Igor listened in a daze, but thankfully he somewhat understood the relationship within.

It seemed there was a rift between the two wizard leaders, hence the divergence on wizard robes.

Ultimately, it seemed Ennis had the last laugh...

Thinking about the reason, it still made sense. Lord Soron just didn’t want to acknowledge that he was merely a White Robe... Igor pondered, inadvertently aligning this with the always proud Spirit Book.

Of course, that’s his speculation, the actual reason, perhaps only those two mentors know.

Igor glanced at the Spirit Book not far away and couldn’t help but feel a tickle of pride...
