One-Eyed Monster

The Great Witch suddenly fell silent, but inside she was actually smiling bitterly.

She never imagined she would turn into this.

Really never imagined, she smiled bitterly to herself.

When she left the Wizard Alliance, it was her mentor who persuaded her to resign.

Her mentor thought there was nothing more she could learn from him, unable to make further progress in Spellcraft, relying solely on remembering those flora maps and such would not make her a competent Wizard.

Although she wasn’t completely disheartened at that time, mainly because she was too naive to understand her mentor’s reasons for persuading her to resign.

After leaving, she returned to her hometown.

By some twist of fate, she forgot many things, gradually tormented by the merciless passage of time into a hunched old woman, even she herself had given up on herself.

At the time, she thought it would be quite alright to become an all-powerful Great Witch of Gaga County, no disputes, just watching the Crystal Ball and flipping through books daily, leisurely studying flora; there were many growing potion plants beside her Divination House now.

Living apathetically like this was quite good, she thought.

But, things were not as she imagined; nothing goes smoothly, things don’t progress according to your wishes.

Whether it was Elder Rostellum or Igor, these people who disrupted her tranquil life gave her a great realization, that sometimes, it’s not you who actively seek things, but rather things come to you without reason.

Witch Biggs felt a turmoil in her heart; the previous anxiety was replaced by resignation. She realized that after all these years, she still couldn’t learn anything useful, ultimately being passive.

However, she felt a bit gratified, because after all, she retained her identity as a Wizard.

Originally, she thought she would fall into despair; her mad image constantly rolled in her heart, for she was indeed very desperate then.

But unexpectedly, the result was not as she feared.

Many monsters were lamenting the scenes they just heard, she too was lamenting, while others sighed deeply, she silently reminisced in her heart.

As long as the Dark Force doesn’t infect her, she certainly doesn’t want to have any dealings with the Dark Force…

But now she had no way to return to see her mentor. Although she originally felt a bit excited when she advanced to Gray Robe, thinking she discovered the way to advance, but didn’t expect the ultimate result to be like this.

Now she felt she could only fixate her wizard robe on Gray Robe…

Perhaps this is fate, the Great Witch thought to herself.

The atmosphere on-site suddenly became strange, some were proud, some surprised, some lamenting, and some, like the Great Witch, were dazed.

Igor was a bit surprised at this moment, not expecting the seemingly unreliable Spirit Book to cause such a big stir. Igor shook his head, although he couldn’t quite believe it, he helplessly accepted this reality.

Calming himself down, Igor recalled his original purpose; he intended to help the Great Witch, but who would’ve thought he’d be completely caught up in his own amazement at this moment.

Igor hurried to find the Great Witch, assuming she was still in her frantic state at this moment.

However, when his gaze fell upon the Great Witch, he was stunned.

Because at this moment, the Great Witch sat quietly on the ground, not moving at all.

This simply made Igor incredulous; how could someone who was previously frantic now be so calm!

He didn’t understand; looking around, searching for an answer, but everyone was preoccupied with their own lamentations and had no time for him.

Even Kadi, who always anticipated him, didn’t pay him any attention at this moment, instead quietly sitting beside Stan Sol.

Searching all around, Igor found that besides the Spirit Book, no one could answer his questions.

Though extremely unwilling, curiosity drove him to actively contact the Spirit Book.

The Spirit Book was quite pleased, finally seeing Igor’s astonished expression, it was embarking on its first step of revenge, vividly recalling those painful times. Without getting revenge, how could it be called Lord Soron’s Spirit Book?

Yet before it could think about the next plan, its master picked it up again and started flipping through the pages noisily.

”This…” the Spirit Book felt terrible, how could anyone use a Spirit Book like this, where’s someone so rude, Spirit Books are supposed to communicate, no need for flipping pages.

But this is exactly how Igor is, flipping while saying, ”Looks like you do know quite a lot, but why always a beat too slow, if you could promptly answer our questions, you’d qualify as a proper Spirit Book, but as of now, you’re still marginally qualified!”

The Spirit Book was upset, thinking to itself that qualification isn’t for Igor to decide; it also knows Igor at this moment was upset, so it can’t be too calculative, moreover, for it, and its strength isn’t enough, can’t show off, wait until that day comes, hmph, Igor will see!

So, at this moment, the Spirit Book sensibly relented, ”Yes, master, I know my shortcomings, I will strive to change!”

Attitude decides everything, although the Spirit Book’s humble attitude made Igor somewhat disgusted, it slightly influenced his heart, if someone treats you this way, you can’t respond with harsh words, after all, you are kind and conscientious yourself.

Igor actually just wanted to ask if the Spirit Book knew the situation of the Great Witch, but was embarrassed to ask directly because he had been criticizing the Spirit Book, wanted to speak well for once but that pride inside made him choose his usual tone.

This really is a complex person.

But this awkwardness must be broken after all, he could only seek another way to pursue the answer he wanted.

”Do you think the Great Witch will be sad if she can’t advance to White Robe?”

”No, she’s very calm now.” The Spirit Book answered directly, not giving Igor time to change tactics.

”Uh…” Igor was indeed surprised, but he still displayed his calm side, although inside he was tumbling, ”How do you know she’s calm now?”

In fact, it was a very foolish question, because there’s no need to think, just seeing the Great Witch’s current state would tell that she’s calm.

Who can sit there calmly, without a move?

Only those whose hearts are calm can achieve this.
