One-Eyed Monster

Igor no longer argued this time. After listening to the Spirit Book’s narrative, he felt that many of his previous assumptions had been too shallow, and he even felt a bit embarrassed.

So he didn’t refute the Spirit Book’s reasoning this time.

”So there are so many untold stories within.” Yuga also sighed.

”By this logic, the development of Wizards has actually regressed compared to before.” Kuren thought more deeply than others.

”That’s right, your words remind us that Wizards who follow the Wizard Robe System are all Battle Wizards.”

”Not only in the field of Wizards; now the entire field of Adventurers with Class trends this way. For example, Kuyi Tulan is preparing exactly for this, making all Alchemists develop in a combat-oriented direction.” The Great Mentor sighed as well at this moment.

The fact narrated by the Spirit Book plunged everyone into deep thought, for this fact is indeed, as the Spirit Book described, somewhat harsh. No one expected the development and expansion of the Wizard Alliance to come at the cost of sacrificing countless youths with the talent of Wizards.

This is a harsh fact to accept. So many young people with dreams walked the path of Wizardry, yet a wizard robe blocked their way forward. This robe declared that they did not possess the attributes for combat, hence could not become good Wizards. This kind of judgment gradually led Wizards toward uniformity, causing young people with other potential attributes to lose the opportunity for advancement. This screening strengthened the ranks of Wizards in the short term, making them increasingly elite, which numbed others, making it difficult to see the truth.

Moreover, this already large-scale force is now not something that can be overthrown with a few words. Even if all the monsters present are absolutely convinced, no one in the Wizard Alliance would believe it.

Not only is the truth what gets destroyed, but also people’s thinking. When this system takes root in people’s hearts, everything becomes insignificant; everyone will think that all this is historical experience, and all this is inevitable.

You cannot say this approach is wrong because everyone in that period was trying to strengthen themselves, and this Wizard Robe System was evidently a quick and accurate method within the Wizarding ranks at that time.

Ennis the Wizard got what he wanted; his name also spread with this system, but unfortunately, Lord Soron’s reasons for dissent were hidden away.

The free will always poses a threat to fixed models; the noble ruling class fears that free choice will bring them chaos, which they cannot face, nor can they face an entity without disciplinary restraints.

Who is right or wrong cannot be judged by current results; the rulers protect everyone’s interests, but free will is gradually vanishing.

Everything becomes like a machine, there is only one standard, within which everything is normal, while anything beyond it is abnormal, an outlier that needs to be eliminated.

Free will is thus silently stifled, with not a trace of warning, nor any reason.

The monsters on Guru Mountain can’t help but think of themselves, as they have been abandoned by this world because their appearance changed dramatically. This appearance lies outside of people’s cognitive range and standard, thus easily giving rise to fear, leading to their abandonment...

Many things have a common side, as the longing for freedom is an innate instinct of every individual. However, when this instinct is lost, you cannot perceive it; you will gradually be controlled by some invisible hands that restrain you, leaving you with only one choice.

The monsters’ reflections came in waves, gradually leading them into a silence, as if agreed beforehand, unconsciously, falling into silence.

This silence gave the Spirit Book a bad feeling. It also knew that narrating the facts that Lord Soron wanted to hide would stir up waves, yet it didn’t expect them to be so calm.

Perhaps this is the calm before the storm.

This is hard to clarify, but the Spirit Book was mentally prepared, so it wasn’t too surprised.

The storm is bound to come, but when it does, it is already prepared.

However, the Spirit Book doesn’t know that many matters are helpless. Even if this fact makes people uncomfortable and may enrage many, no one will act impulsively, as they all understand the simple truth that shaking this misaligned tree cannot be done with anger. Before this standard, they are no more than insignificant ants.

Reflection will only deepen one’s sorrow and make an angry person more impulsive, so they all stop at an appropriate point.

Thus, the Spirit Book will never wait for the storm because that dark cloud has been dispersed by the wind, and this wind emerged quietly as a norm.

There are certainly stubborn people, but one person’s strength cannot decide anything, and this is the root of helplessness.

Just like Lord Soron, knowing that the system was not conducive to the development of Wizards, he merely voiced dissent rather than taking action to stop it, indicating a sense of helplessness.

This helplessness sometimes facilitates a smooth process. Imagine if Lord Soron had stopped the promotion of the Wizard Robe System, the Wizard Alliance would not have been able to supply a large number of elites to the Empire, nor assist the Guardian Army in defending their land. When that moment truly arrives, Lord Soron would become a sinner, and a very great one...

These are distant digressions, as there are not that many ”ifs,” nor can one return to the future. The monsters are not all a group of hot-blooded youths; they have mature judgment on this matter and thus did not consider any outrageous actions.

After reflecting, the monsters also thought of the topic they had just discussed.

This topic was, naturally, about the wizard robe on Wizard Biggs, which is evidently a part of the Wizard Robe System and had advanced from Black Robe to Gray Robe. Such an advancement confirms that this robe is within a normal standard. The next step should be advancing to White Robe…

The issue arises here: this robe has started exhibiting jumping colors, these colors are bizarre and follow no discernible pattern, and the entire Wizard Robe System records nothing on this phenomenon...

So, what exactly is going on with this robe with jumping colors?
