One-Eyed Monster

After the Great Mentor enlightened Igor, his thoughts became clear, and soon he fell into a deep sleep.

The Great Mentor exhaled deeply. For him, everything seemed perfect; this young man did not stray from the right path, which was comforting to him. Most of his disciples were quite troublesome, and this boy whom he always wanted to take as a disciple almost went astray.

The choice belongs to the individual; this young man did not choose to continue pursuing the result but understood the importance of the process, stopping at a crucial moment.

The Great Mentor naturally thought of Kuyi Tulan. This disciple’s current situation was caused by focusing too much on the outcome. If he had observed the minds of these young people like he does now, perhaps today’s events wouldn’t have occurred.

The Great Mentor couldn’t help but sigh again. He had been thinking a lot during this time. So many things happened, and even an old guy like him could not keep up. Many things he heard for the first time.

He also developed certain doubts about right and wrong.

What is right and what is wrong? He couldn’t discern it clearly anymore.

He didn’t know if what he had been guarding on Guru Mountain for so long was the right thing.

He couldn’t figure out whether Kuyi Tulan’s approach was entirely wrong.

He couldn’t judge if the things he insisted on were absolutely correct.

He didn’t understand, even though he was approaching the age for entering the Eternal Tranquility Realm, he couldn’t say for sure what reactions these happenings would cause.

Regarding right and wrong, he probably couldn’t draw a conclusion because he truly didn’t know.

The world belongs to the younger generation; it’s just temporarily being taken over by them now.

The matters that cannot be understood will ultimately fall upon the young.

What is meant to come will come; what is meant to go will go. The young will welcome their world, and the trials will begin at that time.

Everything should be handed over to the younger generation. The Great Mentor looked at the young men sleeping on the mountain, and couldn’t help but feel emotional.

They will eventually embrace their era.

Now he wants to quietly stay by these young people’s side until daylight.

During the Deep Winter Season, the sun rises late; even on Guru Mountain, it appears later than usual.

In some places, the Deep Winter Season rarely sees the sun; it snows all day. Meanwhile, Guru Mountain is relatively better; you can normally see the sun, although the weather is quite cold.

Previously, those under Guru Mountain always thought the south side of Guru Mountain was a magical place because the Deep Winter Slumber bothered them, preventing them from knowing the truth.

Deep Winter Slumber was merely a spell, a visual trap that has now been decrypted. This spell was left behind by Lord Soron, who set this visual trap to hide a scroll on Guru Mountain.

The sunlight didn’t bring much warmth, instead making the entire mountain colder.

Most monsters have awakened. They have lived on Guru Mountain for quite some time, so they understand the climate well, and at this moment, they are busy preparing breakfast.

Kadi also woke up early. From now on, he plans to embark on his journey of training, learning the skills of the mountain monsters. He has to put in a lot of effort; the days of enjoying leisure are gone. He must seriously train himself. At this moment, Kadi is making breakfast with Kevin. He is very focused on eating; he often says, if you’re not full, you won’t have the energy to do other things.

Igor was completely awakened by the aroma of breakfast.

The rich milk fragrance made him feel a warmth, and in this cold Deep Winter Season, warmth means everything.

Opening his eyes, Igor headed straight towards the fire pit emanating the fragrance. To him, the temptation of this warmth was too great.

”Awake?” Kadi patted Igor, ”How is it, tempting aroma, right?”

”Mm!” Igor licked his lips and replied.

”This is berry stew; it’s very rich, a small sip can resist the cold.” Kadi explained to Igor.

”This flavor is sweet, with a hint of fragrance, making you involuntarily feel warm.” Igor said, completely unable to resist this aroma.

Indeed, his stomach was hungry.

”Don’t rush, it’ll be ready soon. When the juice in the pot turns completely pale yellow, you can drink it.”

”Pale yellow?”

”Yes, milky white means the berries aren’t cooked yet. Drinking in haste, heh heh, will backfire.” Kadi explained.

The peculiar plants on Guru Mountain are quite many; even in this Deep Winter Season, there are many odd things, indeed rather remarkable.

Only now did Igor realize that everyone on the mountain was already awake, even Xiso and Witch Bigas were here. He was the last to open his eyes...

After a slight embarrassment, breakfast time arrived.

Everyone gathered in a circle, each holding a porcelain bowl, tools exchanged through alchemy by the Great Mentor and Simon. The porcelain bowls were filled with steaming berry soup, with roasted and steamed fruits laid out in front of them.

Though breakfast was simple, it seemed adequately varied.

”Alright, the sun has been up for a while.” The Great Mentor broke the silence, implying there was something to say before breakfast.

Everyone chuckled; it had been a long time since everyone gathered like this for breakfast, seeming a bit awkward.

”We are gathered here by fate; everyone comes from different places, yet now we are all under Guru Mountain; this is a destiny.”

”Yes, yes.” Everyone felt the Great Mentor’s words were reasonable.

Indeed, everyone knew after this breakfast they would part ways. Those staying on Guru Mountain would remain there, while those going down the mountain would do so.

”Alright, let’s not say anything sad. Drink this bowl of berry soup, we’ve been friends, remember to come back and visit in the future.” The Great Mentor said.

”Mentor, I will definitely come back!” Xiso trembled as he held the bowl of soup.

Only at this moment did Igor realize Xiso also decided to go down the mountain.

Although he didn’t know the specific reason, seeing Bigas, he knew it must be significantly related to Bigas.

”I will come back too.” Igor followed Xiso’s words.

Igor indeed had to return, because he had not yet fulfilled his promise with Kadi.

”We will be here waiting for you, remember, this is your home.” The Great Mentor said to Xiso and Igor. Parting is always melancholic.

In this bittersweet and melancholic atmosphere, everyone raised their bowls and drank the berry soup.
