Chapter 243: Chapter 242: Closed-Loop Space

Su Changxing estimated that this hospital must have disconnected from the outside world after the apocalypse had arrived, with significant changes occurring before they turned into corpses, otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many skeletons.

Zhou An shrank his head and whispered, ”The underground of this hospital seems very complex, hmm, it definitely is not just a hospital.”

”Nonsense.”

Su Changxing replied bluntly, ”This is troubling now. With the cover of such disorderly spaces, these Hunters want to hide, we might have a hard time finding them.”

Now, they had no way to withdraw outside, as people were scattered throughout this underground space, so the only solution was to eliminate these Hunters.

After walking a distance forward, Su Changxing stopped, and the others followed suit.

Zhou An asked suspiciously, ”What’s wrong? Could it be that we’ve been taken somewhere else again?”

”No.”

Su Changxing looked at the door ahead, slightly ajar, with a warped frame, and said, ”It’s just we’ve returned to the starting point.”

That door was the one he’d kicked open earlier.

”It should be.”

Su Changxing added, walking over to push open the door again, revealing the same scene: a round platform, skeletons, a cross, and somewhat chaotic paintings on the wall.

Besides the stench of decay, there was an ancient aura permeating inside. Though only a door separated them, it felt like a distant place.

And his intuition told him not to touch those things.

That’s also why he left directly before.

Zhou An finally saw the scene inside, his eyes wide open:

”Huh? So many dead people inside? Such a strange manner of death. Hiss~ speaking of which, why would these Hunters set a base in such a place, there must be a reason.”

The scene triggered more than usual sensory stimulation, unlike heaps of zombies, it felt like a subconscious terror.

Zhou An’s words indeed gave Su Changxing some inspiration.

Su Changxing pondered and said:

”Indeed, these Hunters wouldn’t set a base here without reason. Hmm, perhaps this place was their base from the start.”

In the team, Ye Yongqiang, a middle-aged man with a fresh scar on his face, asked puzzledly:

”Why is that, were there many Hunters here from the beginning?”

Su Changxing closed the door again, saying:

”Should be, people from the Otherworld are just like us, only by becoming Extraordinary can they survive, and this place for some reason has a higher chance of producing Extraordinary.”

”Likely, many Hunters here originated from this hospital.”

Most of the team remained silent, they had no energy left to talk in this environment.

They were a group of people without a choice; fighting and risking their lives was their only choice.

At this moment, Chang Yi suddenly raised her head and said, ”Brother Su, Zhu Wenwu and the others seem to be in the same situation as us now, they’ve separated from those Hunters too.”

Su Changxing nodded, thinking aloud:

”Looks like these Hunters are determined to drag things out until dark, but this is also the best strategy for them.”

The man in red seemed intent on trapping them here, and the space here seemed to form a loop······

”So, if we go back again, will we return to the starting point?”

Su Changxing’s eyes flashed with clarity as he led the team backwards, if the space here truly formed a loop, they should end up back at the starting point.

In the dim light, everyone saw that going back led to a dead end, but no one questioned it, the situation now was beyond their common sense.

A significant portion of their minds were now blank, unable to think further, doing whatever Su Changxing said—this was a form of trust.

As they reached the wall, the surrounding space suddenly changed, the light dimmed, and someone spoke from the side:

”Hey, look, it’s just the two of us now, no need to fight to the death, we can coexist peacefully, after all, our lives are our own······”

A skinny young man was speaking reasonably to a tall, hefty Hunter.

The Hunter was stunned, wondering what was going on with this Otherworld human, afraid of death perhaps? But why attack them if he’s afraid of death.

He was momentarily confused but was still determined to kill the other, it was a one-on-one and the other wasn’t a Power User, victory was assured.

The Hunter raised his machete and walked towards him, hoarsely saying, ”What do you say?”

At this moment, Su Changxing happened to witness the scene, his mouth twitched involuntarily, this person called Zhang Shun was considered a sly old fox in the settlement, previously acknowledging him as boss just for a bottle of water.

Seeing Su Changxing and the others suddenly appear, Zhang Shun was pleased even though he didn’t know what was going on, and shouted:

”Brother Su, there’s a Hunter here, hurry and take him out.”

The brawny Hunter’s face froze, he turned around and saw over ten people, then turned and ran.

Seizing the opportunity, Zhou An shot a Flying Saber at the Hunter, precisely hitting his Achilles heel.

The Hunter lost balance and fell heavily to the ground.

Su Changxing stepped forward, punching his abdomen, severely injuring him, and nailed his hands to the wall with a short sword.

”Ah!”

The Hunter screamed in agony, struggling helplessly as blood dripped down his arms onto the wall.

This Hunter wasn’t particularly strong, being just a Lower Rank Extraordinary.

Examining him, Su Changxing, though expecting little, still asked:

”Do you know what’s going on here? Explain clearly, and I might let you go.”

Seeing more than ten people solemnly surrounding him, the Hunter was extremely desperate, certain he was basically dead, he hesitated and said:

”I’m going to die anyway, why should I tell you?”

Su Changxing frowned, his mouth curling up, signaling to Ye Yongqiang beside him.

Ye Yongqiang, who had a robust appearance, previously a fitness instructor, without hesitation swung his axe decisively at the Hunter’s thigh.

The scream echoed along with the sound of bones breaking through the empty corridor.

Su Changxing watched him unblinkingly, and laughed, ”Perhaps this is the reason you might speak, actually whether you say it or not doesn’t affect us much.”

Sweating profusely, the Hunter’s expression twisted from the pain, it was clear he wasn’t tough, he quickly added:

”I don’t know either, I joined here later on, just know our current leader seems to be someone from here.”
