Chapter 208: Chapter 207: Prying Eyes (2)

The two walked forward a short distance, and the zombies on the street became dense.

Zhu Xin Xue’s body appeared very agile, dodging left and right, while simultaneously using the short knife in her hand to attack zombies with broad, sweeping motions.

You had to admit, Zhu Xin Xue was indeed very fearless, showing no fear towards these hideous zombies.

Perhaps it’s really inborn.

Su Changxing casually chopped off a lunging zombie and reminded:

”The brain is a zombie’s weak point, but you need to find the specific location of the weak point. You can kill them instantly during a fight if you pierce it precisely. Your power is sufficient, theoretically allowing you to kill in one hit.”

As he spoke, he looked around, observing the surroundings, estimating that those Hunters would definitely not let it go.

Moreover, a large portion of people from this area were converging toward them, and the encampment was highly likely to be targeted by these Hunters tonight.

No, to be precise, these Hunters would definitely come.

Zhu Xin Xue took down a zombie with three consecutive slashes, her actions were fairly quick.

Su Changxing was somewhat surprised and said, ”Did you practice before? You seem to have some foundation.”

Zhu Xin Xue turned back, revealing a hint of a smile, and said, ”I learned Taekwondo before and even won a championship, though that was just child’s play.”

Su Changxing nodded and said, ”Given your current situation, joining a combat team isn’t a problem, you’re even stronger than many others.”

Zhu Xin Xue’s eyes widened, and she said following behind Su Changxing, ”So I can join the combat team now, right?”

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”That depends on your brother, as long as he agrees.”

”Heh, I feel like he won’t agree. He’s already getting cocky, thinking that after becoming stronger, he can protect me completely.”

Zhu Xin Xue said somewhat dejectedly.

The two chatted while strolling around the encampment’s surroundings.

As they were about to return to the encampment, Su Changxing noticed someone in the distance standing by the street, looking over at them. Squinting his eyes, he said:

”You head back first, I have something to attend to.”

He saw circles of white rings on that person, clearly marking him as an Extraordinary. But among the people on their side, not many were Extraordinary.

This is a Hunter!

Su Changxing hadn’t expected these Hunters to have already targeted them before nightfall and started setting up.

Without much thought, he charged toward that person, who also started moving, fleeing backward.

When Su Changxing caught up, he found that the person’s figure had already vanished, seemingly slipping into the side alley:

”Very fast, should be a Speed-type Extraordinary. Can you sense his position?”

The head said, ”He’s already out of my perception range, but if you walk along the alley and get close to him, I can sense him.”

Su Changxing nodded, running along the alleyway. It couldn’t really be called an alley; it was a pedestrian street with closely packed buildings, making it easy to hide someone.

The Hunter seemed to have some ability not to provoke the zombies, leaving no obvious traces, so Su Changxing could only rely on his instincts to track him.

More than ten minutes passed, and he still hadn’t seen the shadow of that Hunter, losing track, so he had to turn back.

”Bad luck, didn’t get the direction right, these zombies didn’t react at all...”

Su Changxing was a bit frustrated; this person had been right in front of him and still managed to get away, like watching a mouse run through the room and failing to catch it.

On the way back, passing by a noodle shop, the head suddenly said, ”He’s upstairs nearby, seems to be watching you, third floor.”

What a bold one.

Su Changxing’s eyes flashed with a hint of coldness. Instead of rushing upstairs, he casually walked in another direction.

In a dimly lit room, a man wearing a hat and scarf squatted by the window, watching Su Changxing’s back with a smirk.

”So much for the ’Sleeping Beast’.”

He roughly knew who Su Changxing was, that human who escaped their encirclement, and Su Changxing was still their top target to kill.

Soon he planned to report this to the leader, expecting to gain considerable benefits.

”I have to say, this encampment is quite large, hundreds of people for sure...”

Suddenly sensing movement behind him, the man shivered, turning sideways to see a man with a steel saber appearing behind him like a phantom.

That person was Su Changxing.

”What’s up? Got any ideas about me? I seem to remember I’ve killed quite a few of you people before, yet you still aren’t afraid.”

Su Changxing revealed a gentle smile, speaking lightly without rushing to make a move, as if wanting to have a chat.

The man leaned against the wall, slowly stood up, his pupils dilating under the shifting light and shadows, his body stiff with immense psychological pressure.

Su Changxing’s strength had already spread among them, at least a High Ability User, a leader-level power, definitely not someone he could handle.

Moreover, the most lethal part was that their powers would greatly weaken during the day, and conversely, increase significantly at night.

The man held his breath, calmed his nerves, and slowly said, ”Since you’re not rushing to make a move, we might have room for negotiation. Just tell me your demands.”

Very sensible.

Su Changxing eyed the Hunter before him, smiling as he said, ”I just wanted to learn more about you. You count as an organization, right? How many people are in your organization?”

”Oh, we have quite a few people, but specifically how many, well...”

The man suddenly turned, exerted strength in his legs, and leaped towards the windowsill, attempting to escape by jumping out.

Su Changxing instantly followed with a slash, jumping out the window along with the man, and as he leaped out, he pierced his back with one strike, grabbing his body, and shouted, ”Do you want to die or live?”

The man gritted his teeth, wanting to struggle, but his strength was far inferior to Su Changxing’s.

”Bang~”

The steel saber, along with the corpse, pinned him to the ground, embedded into the earth, and the side of the body shattered from the powerful impact.

Su Changxing sliced down at the approaching zombies, took a deep breath as he looked at the body, and then dragged it to a concealed spot in a nearby building to hide it, preventing it from being easily found by other Hunters.

”These Hunters are indeed much weaker during the day, somewhat resembling zombies. It seems that the influence of the giant hand has been imprinted in their DNA.”

Su Changxing analyzed, putting the Extraordinary Crystal of this person into his backpack.

The head’s voice came, ”Heh, they even count as Positioning System-type Extraordinaries. Their progression and advancement paths are greatly limited.”

”All within the giant hand’s range?”

”Yeah, just about.”

Su Changxing realized he was actually quite exposed now. He was an Extraordinary, and Extraordinaries could recognize each other. Once those Hunters saw him, they could basically confirm his identity.

Of course, they might mistake Zhu Wenwu for him.

After this Blood Moon, there should still be other Extraordinaries appearing, not a large number, but surely more than just him.

Su Changxing stepped outside, looked around, found nothing unusual, and left.

Returning to the encampment’s entrance, Zhu Xin Xue was still there waiting, along with Yan Xu and others, looking toward Su Changxing.

Seeing Su Changxing return so quickly, Zhu Xin Xue breathed a sigh of relief, but also noticed the bloodstain on Su Changxing’s chest that wasn’t there before, and asked:

”Master, what happened just now, did you see an acquaintance?”

Su Changxing said nonchalantly, ”More or less, but he’s already gone, unwilling to join us.”

Then he looked at Yan Xu, instructing, ”Screen those joining the encampment more strictly to prevent Hunters from infiltrating.”

Yan Xu immediately understood what Su Changxing meant, his heart sank, estimating that the person they saw earlier was a Hunter. No wonder he kept watching from a distance. Nodding, he said:

”Yes, I will conduct careful screening to prevent any suspicious individuals from entering the encampment.”

In reality, he was already screening very carefully, resulting in a large number of people being blocked outside the entrance.
