Chapter 232: Chapter 231: Black Mountain Mental Hospital

Their pace was not slow, forming a long line as they threaded through the horde of zombies, with Su Changxing and several other Extraordinary leading the way.

Su Changxing noticed that among them, Yu Jieyi was the strongest in close combat; she already possessed formidable fighting skills, and with her powerful physical strength, her combat ability skyrocketed.

Among them, the old man seemed to be slacking. He appeared to be fighting, but in reality, his efficiency in clearing zombies was not high, though still much better than most people.

Qian Runwei wielded an iron hammer, striking a zombie’s head with seemingly little force, but the zombie’s head burst open.

His ability could greatly enhance impact force, making it an excellent match for a weapon like a hammer. Moreover, Su Changxing estimated that his ability had strong lethality; as long as he hit his mark, injuring a Screamer in one blow shouldn’t be a problem.

Geng Yong, walking beside Su Changxing, said, ”Leader Su, if we had more Extraordinary, we wouldn’t have to worry about these Hunters, right?”

He felt this operation was a bit rushed, thinking they could wait until they had more Extraordinary before taking action.

Su Changxing glanced at him and said gravely, ”But we don’t have that much time, nor do we have many opportunities. The situation later might be completely different.”

Geng Yong frowned and decapitated a zombie with a slash, still asking:

”Why? Can you tell me? Although I know you must have a reason, I still want to understand a bit.”

Yu Jieyi also turned her head, her eyes flickering, evidently concerned about this issue as well, and she said softly:

”Actually, after becoming an Extraordinary, you could completely hide somewhere and wait for the game to end... This should be the most prudent approach for an Extraordinary.”

She seemed very rational, and indifferent, speaking as if it were only natural. This must be what most people thought; perhaps without Su Changxing, they all would have done this.

Su Changxing nodded, expressing agreement, and licked his lips, saying:

”Indeed, I might as well tell you, I thought the same way before, since I became an Extraordinary earlier than you... However, later on, I thought, if a world has no people, it cannot be called a human world. Just like this world, although there are survivors, it is already a Zombie World.”

He glanced at the people around him, the corners of his mouth lifting, and he said:

”To put it simply, I hope that under the premise of me surviving, more people in our world can survive.”

Yu Jieyi’s mouth moved, as if she wanted to say something.

Su Changxing swung his knife in front of him, slicing a zombie’s head open, and laughed, ”What? Still don’t believe it?”

Yu Jieyi shook her head and said, ”No, I believe you, it just feels... a bit unreal, everything that’s happened these days feels a bit unreal.”

She thought of this word, ”unreal.”

She continued, ”The group I was with before fought fiercely over a bit of food, eventually even turning on each other.”

Things like this usually weren’t told to outsiders.

Su Changxing thought for a moment and asked, ”So were you on the winning side or the losing side in the fight?”

Ha, was this the point?

Yu Jieyi was stunned for a few seconds, dumbfounded, and said, ”I didn’t fight, I left first.”

Su Changxing seriously evaluated, ”Then you’re rather amicable.”

Yu Jieyi took out a zombie with an axe and said, ”It’s just that, I could barely manage to survive on my own.”

Zhou An interjected, ”I couldn’t survive on my own back then, but I was lucky, there was always someone helping me.”

Su Changxing thought of the first time he met Zhou An in an alleyway and agreed, ”Hmm, your luck is indeed good, but people who are still alive now are all lucky people.”

At this moment, his phone vibrated,

He took a look, it was a message from Zhu Wenwu, saying he had reached near the target location, and so far there were no unexpected situations or presence of Hunters.

The Hunter’s base was at a place called Black Mountain Mental Hospital, which was relatively remote and not marked on maps.

Possibly because this mental hospital wasn’t large.

It was around ten o’clock now, and Su Changxing estimated that at their current speed, they would reach there in about an hour.

Immediately, Su Changxing received another message from Zhu Wenwu, saying he spotted several individuals suspected to be Hunters, walking on the street.

Most likely they were.

Zhu Wenwu probably discerned they were Extraordinary, thus deeming them as suspected Hunters; however, finding the Extraordinary in a Hunter’s territory, they were most likely Hunters.

Su Changxing quickly replied, reminding him to avoid them at all costs and to steer clear of alarming them.

He was still worried Zhu Wenwu might encounter Perception Class Extraordinary, facing whom just a glance from afar could lead to discovery.

Su Changxing turned to Zhou An and the others and said, ”I’ll go ahead to check the situation, you follow later, and find a concealed spot near the target point to take a brief rest.”

Zhou An nodded cautiously and said, ”Got it, we’ll be careful.”

Then, Su Changxing accelerated and ran forward, weaving between the zombies, his pace doubling from before.

”There shouldn’t be any problems......”

He vaguely sensed something was off, but it was just a feeling, maybe just a psychological effect, since Zhu Wenwu wasn’t a professional scout and lacked the relevant experience.

......

Zhu Wenwu leaned against a wall, watching the people in the street from afar. There were very few zombies here, almost none, making it look like an empty town.

”Are there other entrances and exits?”

He noticed the direction these people were walking was odd, the hospital was to the south, but they were heading from east to west, as if they were just passing by.

”Or maybe there’s more than one base here?”

Zhu Wenwu was startled; if that were the case, the Hunters they were facing could number more than thirty.

Would this count as a mislead in his intelligence report?

Suddenly.

One of them turned and looked in his direction, with a puzzled expression, and glanced around.

Was he discovered?

Zhu Wenwu calmly retreated step by step, intending to leave the area first. Even if the other party noticed a problem, it wouldn’t be a big deal, as they only knew about him, not that there was a group of them.

The buildings here weren’t high, but they were packed closely together, allowing someone to jump from one rooftop to another.

Zhu Wenwu retreated over thirty meters, escaping into a building through a window. The floor was covered in dust, but the furnishings inside were still quite orderly, evidently not searched or looted by anyone.
