Chapter 225: Chapter 224: An Unexpected Act of Courting Death

Zhu Wenwu being able to become an Extraordinary is probably not just because of the Blood Moon, but also because of his frequent contact with him; earlier, he gained Mysteriousness from Zhu Wenwu, so Zhu Wenwu was inevitably influenced by him.

Su Changxing pointed to the ground on the side and said seriously:

”Starting from here, lie down one by one, fall asleep as soon as possible. I will wake you when the time comes... perhaps some of you can really become Extraordinary.”

Seeing Su Changxing wasn’t joking at all, the group looked at each other, and starting from the first row, they lay down on the ground one by one.

Zhou An lay on the ground, turned his head to look at Yan Xu beside him, and said with a smile:

”Hey, maybe when I wake up, I’ll already be an Extraordinary.”

Yan Xu stared at the pitch-black ceiling, with mixed emotions, and said:

”Possibly, I didn’t expect that Extraordinary would be so close to us, but I always feel is it a bit too simple.”

Zhou An collected himself, his eyes glimmering with a dim light, and said:

”It’s not simple, at least I think it’s not simple. Surviving itself is a difficult thing... I wonder how he is now.”

He thought of Ma Xuekai.

Surviving alone in this Doomsday World would probably be very difficult.

After their separation, they never contacted each other again, just familiar strangers, parted ways, and in this hard-to-survive world, there was no mind to care for others.

Su Changxing, seeing these two still talking, reminded them, ”Zhou An, stop talking.”

The site was not quiet, many people were even quite excited, apparently it would be difficult to fall asleep immediately.

Su Changxing felt like a teacher with a group of children in class, he didn’t demand too harshly either, taking time as it is, since there was no urgency now.

These people varied in age, mostly young and middle-aged, after all, only this age group has stronger combat power.

But there were some relatively older ones, among them a man in his sixties, hair half-white, but with a sturdy build, had practiced when he was young, once seriously injured a Hunter before.

Among them, a few women also lay together by the wall, they were quite capable in reality, some athletes, and others were in martial arts professions.

Under Su Changxing’s watch, the room gradually quieted down, some people fell asleep quickly, with a prompt from the log.

...

Possibly due to more Mysteriousness, the efficiency of obtaining Mysteriousness this way was not high, only one or two points at a time, but the sheer number made up for it.

Actually, obtaining Mysteriousness was just something he did conveniently, mainly because he hasn’t determined a position at Tier Eight yet; even if Mysteriousness was full, he couldn’t advance.

He couldn’t just casually find a position to advance at the Mysterious Shop, thinking this way would be a loss, as his Tier Nine position is an Extreme Rank.

Moreover, if Compatibility is low, the enhancement to combat power might not be significant.

Compatibility is a crucial factor, seemingly hard to improve, it basically decides at the beginning whether you’re suited for the position or not.

Low Compatibility would significantly amplify the position’s drawbacks.

Su Changxing looked at those who had fallen asleep, seeing the black mist hovering over their heads, which indicated they were asleep.

As more people fell asleep, the atmosphere in the room grew more shrouded, the oil lamps on the walls flickered now and then, a fragrance of unknown origin was dispersed in the air.

Chang Yi, with tightly closed eyes, lay on the ground, not yet asleep, uncertain why he just couldn’t fall asleep, possibly because of sleeping too long during the day.

Gradually, he sensed the absence of sound around him, seemingly everyone had fallen asleep, or maybe they were like him, just closing their eyes without truly sleeping.

Unaware of how much time had passed, he still hadn’t fallen asleep, and following Su Changxing’s instructions, he didn’t open his eyes to observe the situation around, though faintly hearing other sounds, as if some were shouting, screaming, muttering, faint noises but continuous.

He wanted to open his eyes, but found he couldn’t, seemingly unable to move, though he clearly perceived his surroundings.

The breath of the person beside brushed against his ear, and from outside the window came the distant screams of zombies.

Su Changxing frowned, things seemed out of control, he actually heard indistinct muttering echoing in the room, as if many people were whispering in unison.

Yet no one was speaking, most had already fallen asleep.

Su Changxing asked the head, ”What’s happening here?”

The head, somewhat taken aback, said, ”This seems like the triggering of some ritual conditions, I’m not sure of the specifics, but it’s best you stop this risky behavior.”

”Risky behavior?”

Su Changxing pondered, unable to understand what went wrong, he merely had many people sleep simultaneously to gain Mysteriousness, intending to influence them this way, increasing their chances of becoming Extraordinary.

This was just a method of obtaining Mysteriousness; no accidents occurred before, so why now?

Was it due to the number of people?

He was somewhat curious about what the result of this so-called ritual would be specifically.

Interrupt, or continue?

Numerous thoughts swirled in Su Changxing’s mind.

Like a breeze circulating in the room, the extent of candle flickering increased, dimming and brightening, as if ready to extinguish at any moment.

Su Changxing stared intensely around, his heart pounding, sensing the space producing invisible ripples, creaking like bones.

The head seemingly sensed a fatal threat, and shouted, ”Kid, stop, stop immediately, this can’t go on, I sense some presence approaching this area.”

Su Changxing jerked, realizing he couldn’t be reckless any further, continuing could indeed lead to unforeseeable incidents.

With a wave of his hand, the dark mist over their heads dissipated, and once this mist scattered, these people would awaken, and the ”ritual” would naturally interrupt.

But the moment the mist dispersed, it seemed drawn by some force, reassembling once again.

They did not wake up.

”Damn it, what’s happening?”

Su Changxing cursed, hurrying towards the candle, aiming to extinguish it and disrupt this scene.

Taking just a couple of steps.

Su Changxing’s heart skipped a beat, seeing some blurry phantoms appearing around, standing like shadows in midair.

It’s over!

The head in the backpack, eyes glowing red, produced some bright white scars in the space, shouting, ”Get out of this room, quick!”
