Chapter 213: Chapter 212: Interception and Slaughter

”Resurrection Day.”

This one month each year is Resurrection Day, making everyone go insane, turning into beasts, which is also their hope for survival.

Survival of the fittest, the weak are prey to the strong.

From a certain perspective, the world’s resources are always limited, only enjoyed by a few people.

The night was accompanied by distant and near howls, as five people swiftly traversed the alleyways, with the zombies largely unresponsive to them, only noticing when they got closer.

”We found a settlement nearby during the day, should be quite big.”

A man in a short black trench coat said.

Another person said with ease, ”They probably have quite a few people, even with hundreds of pigs, it wouldn’t be easy to kill them all quickly.”

The man in the coat thought for a while and said, ”Judging from the situation, these people shouldn’t be too different from hundreds of pigs, but there should be a few strong individuals in that settlement.”

The only woman among the five grinned and said:

”Based on experience, now is our golden time, some of them will get stronger very quickly.”

The others agreed with this idea.

The man in the coat laughed and said:

”But Boss Ye thinks we shouldn’t hurry, we should clear out the small settlements first, besides, this area is doing quite well, their world’s official organization seems to have abandoned this place.”

At this moment, on the sunshade of an upstairs balcony, crouched a monkey with crimson eyes, quietly watching them from the shadows, like a living stone.

The Hunters didn’t notice the Black Death Monkey at all, and even if they did, they wouldn’t care. Zombie monkeys can be seen in many places, though not in large numbers, and they aren’t as combat-capable as zombies.

In a dimly lit room, Su Changxing sat on the ground looking at a map, with the Monkey King standing beside him, also looking at the map.

”They have entered the area we are monitoring, five teams, more than twenty people, they should all be Hunters.”

The Monkey King’s eyes flickered with red light as it spoke.

The entire Black Death Monkey clan can also be seen as a whole, with every individual monkey acting as the Monkey King’s eyes and ears, expanding its senses in this special way.

Monkeys are mammals, but the Black Death Monkeys exhibit characteristics similar to ants and bees in this regard.

Su Changxing nodded and said, ”Mark their specific locations on the map.”

The Monkey King took a pen and drew several circles on the map, representing the specific positions of the Hunters. They were scattered around the settlement, in roughly the same direction, not far from each other, able to support one another.

Su Changxing smiled, took a photo of the map, and sent it to Zhu Wenwu and others, saying:

”Let’s go block them. These Hunters are really audacious, thinking they can just devour our settlement.”

The distance was very close.

The man and the monkey quickly reached the target location, where Zhu Wenwu and others were already waiting, numbering over a hundred, most of whom had undergone enhancement.

Su Changxing strode into the first-floor dining area, looked at them, and simply said:

”Just as we estimated before, we still split into three groups as planned to eliminate three teams of Hunters. If the target is too strong, avoid direct confrontation and wait for others’ support.”

Huang Biao nodded, his face serious, and said:

”In this battle, we move only forward, not back. If they don’t die, we will. There is no retreat...These people treat us like livestock, they are no different from zombies. Kill them!”

Huang Biao’s voice was loud, even disturbing the zombies at the door, but fortunately, the zombies nearby had been cleared, so they weren’t a threat.

Huang Biao and Zhu Wenwu each led forty or fifty people.

Huang Biao in the middle faced relatively less pressure; once Su Changxing’s team of Hunters were dealt with, he could go support him.

Meanwhile, Zhu Wenwu faced much pressure, and if he couldn’t quickly deal with the enemy, he might face reinforcements from other Hunters.

Before leaving.

Su Changxing took out six doses of adrenaline and handed them to Huang Biao, Zhu Wenwu, Yan Xu, and others with relatively strong abilities, saying:

”Use this in critical moments. A special adrenaline that can activate the body’s potential for ten minutes, but there will be side effects afterward...use it only if necessary.”

Huang Biao accepted the adrenaline without questioning much, knowing it must be something for desperate situations, and said:

”Alright then, everyone be careful and remain flexible, unexpected situations might occur.”

Overall, they shouldn’t encounter too many problems.

Those who had undergone enhancement all possessed certain combat abilities and were well-equipped; even if they couldn’t win, they could hold out for a while.

If all else failed, they had a fallback; they could retreat into the settlement.

Su Changxing and the Monkey King crouched on the second-floor balcony, and a dozen or so people armed with swords crouched on the first floor. Though few in number, they were very elite.

Everything seemed perfectly set. Just seven or eight minutes later, Su Changxing saw five Hunters moving among the zombies.

They didn’t seem to have noticed Su Changxing and his team’s ambush but kept proceeding cautiously along their planned route, occasionally looking around.

Su Changxing didn’t know if these Hunters would detect them, but estimated that a flawless ambush was difficult, as per past experience, there was a high chance there would be an Extraordinary of the Perception Class among them.

Watching as the five Hunters drew nearer.

The murderous intent in Su Changxing’s eyes intensified, gauging the distance ready for action, not intending to use firearms directly, as it would make too much noise, immediately alert other Hunters, and attract the Undead Tide.

Su Changxing whispered, ”Wait, don’t rush in. Let me go first, your wounds are still severe.”

The Monkey King showed a hint of dissatisfaction, confident there wasn’t a significant issue, but remained silent, figuring it made little difference whether it acted first or last.

Hmm?

Su Changxing was taken aback as he saw the Hunters suddenly stop, just beyond his attack range.

Were they discovered?

He didn’t hesitate, raising the Shadow Bow, nocking an arrow, drawing the string, executing the series of actions fluently as if practiced thousands of times.

In an instant, an invisible arrow flew toward the most robust-looking individual among them, leaving subtle ripples in the air.

The man in the coat reacted, shouting, ”Watch out!”

But it was too late.

The arrow appeared to hit, but the man remained unfazed, pulling the arrow out, tossing it to the ground, and looking in Su Changxing’s direction.

The distance was close, both parties could see each other’s expressions.

Immediately, Su Changxing shot a second arrow, this time aimed at a woman. In the instant it neared her, she slightly shifted her body, narrowly dodging the arrow.

As Su Changxing released the second arrow, the Hunters rushed over at him, threatened by his arrows, unsure if they could dodge another.

Su Changxing grabbed the Steel Saber, kicked off the railing, and leapt down from the balcony, slashing at the man in the coat at the forefront, with the fierce wind sound interweaving with the chill night breeze.

No tricks, just pure speed and power.
