Chapter 238: Chapter 237: Raid

Su Changxing nodded, waved his hand, and they walked along the outer wall, following Zhu Wenwu towards the side of the hospital.

Even though there were many of them, they didn’t make a sound, all fully attentive to their surroundings.

Everyone was tense.

When they reached the side, Zhu Wenwu sharply spotted a figure darting in the hallway on the top floor, not looking in their direction but seemingly searching for something.

”The route we took here was quite concealed. Approaching the hospital, we were mostly in blind spots of visibility, so the chances of being discovered are slim,” he said.

Zhu Wenwu pressed himself against the wall. In his mind, he pictured the view from the Hunter on the top floor. He could see another person further down the hallway observing the surroundings, and he continued,

”There are two guards directly above us, and more elsewhere. It’s nearly impossible for us to sneak past undetected.”

The previous events had alerted these Hunters. They were cautious, neither taking the initiative to attack nor acting rashly.

Su Changxing didn’t hesitate, firmly saying, ”Then we’ll break in openly, storm into their base... You lead the way.”

Zhu Wenwu was slightly taken aback, then nodded and said,

”Okay, I have no problem. I memorized the way in before. It won’t take long from here, only seven or eight minutes.”

Su Changxing looked at the few people around and said, ”Soon, we will follow Zhu Wenwu inside at the fastest speed, but we must maintain order and not panic.”

There was no time for anyone to think things over; Su Changxing’s words became the sole directive.

This plan seemed a bit reckless but was the least expected by the enemy.

Two minutes later.

Zhu Wenwu was the first to rush in through an open door in the outer wall, followed by over fifty people divided into three squads, with weapons in hand, charging in noisily.

Everything happened suddenly. The quiet environment was filled with noise, motion appeared in the previously still images.

The Hunters on alert upstairs saw a group of people suddenly rushing in, stunned, momentarily thinking it was a horde of zombies, but a closer look revealed it was armed people.

Were they attacked?

Attacked by these Otherworld fools?

It seemed like a joke, but it was indeed happening.

The person beside them reacted quicker, shouting, ”Enemy attack, enemy attack!”

Su Changxing sensed that these Hunters seemed to lack a complete security system. Or perhaps they had one, but it had become inactive due to the lack of attacks over time.

As they reached the middle, a distant horn sounded from above within the hospital, unexpectedly loud, echoing throughout the building.

Zhu Wenwu kicked open a tightly shut side door on the first floor. The door splintered and crashed to the ground, scattering wood chips onto the walls.

Inside the hospital, two Hunters with weapons were seen rushing down the hallway, seemingly preparing to exit from there.

Stunned at the sight of the dense crowd, the group included seven or eight Power Users.

Without hesitation, the two Hunters turned and ran back, shouting as they went.

”Enemy attack.”

”Enemy attack.”

······

”Bang, bang, bang, bang~”

Su Changxing decisively fired four shots at them. Bullets were discharged from different angles at high frequency.

Both of them were Extraordinary and extremely sensitive, even with their backs turned, they reacted, dodging by instinct.

All four bullets hit but none of them were fatal.

The two Hunters fell to the ground from the impact, quickly got up, but Su Changxing and the others were already upon them.

Zhu Wenwu, at the front, swiftly beheaded one of them with a sword, while Zhou An’s precise Flying Saber pierced through the other’s brain from behind.

”The stairs going down are at the far end. Third squad, hold this position and prevent outside Hunters from cutting off our retreat,” shouted Zhu Wenwu, remaining calm.

Huang Biao nodded, indicating no problem. He was leading the third squad, the weakest in overall strength and smallest in number, but their task was also the simplest.

There weren’t many Hunters outside, at most five or six.

Su Changxing and the others didn’t pause for a moment. Some stayed outside while the rest followed Zhu Wenwu further inside.

They needed to break through before the Hunters fully organized, taking maximum advantage of the situation.

As they approached the stairwell, three or four people armed with crossbows poked their heads out and began shooting at them.

Four arrows fired, one incredibly fast and shot straight, reaching them when the other arrows were still mid-flight.

The arrows weren’t aimed directly at Su Changxing. Even if he realized it, due to the distance, he couldn’t intercept them.

”Ah!”

A cry of pain.

A person in the back of the group was pierced through the shoulder, pinned against the wall, the force of the arrow unusually strong.

Su Changxing slashed an arrow mid-air with his saber, while simultaneously lifting his gun to shoot.

”Bang bang~”

Two bullets fired, but the shooters had already ducked back.

Su Changxing sped up, overtaking Zhu Wenwu, and in less than a breath arrived at the stairwell, catching sight of seven or eight Hunters standing at the corridor corner.

They obviously didn’t expect Su Changxing to move so quickly, grabbing his bow just as Su Changxing raised his gun again, pulling the trigger.

In this moment, the scene seemed frozen.

Su Changxing scanned left and right, trying to find the one skilled in shooting.

In such a situation, anyone proficient in long-range attacks was the toughest to deal with, a single mistake could lead to heavy casualties.

The information from ”True Knowledge” flashed rapidly.

Su Changxing quickly identified the Hunter with the longbow, pale-skinned, responsible for the previous shot.

[Hunter: Tier Nine, Upper Rank, highly skilled in bow and arrow weapons, possesses high Perception ability, can temporarily mark enemies in view for targeting, making them more prone to be hit by arrows.]

More prone to being hit by arrows?

An awkward phrase.

Su Changxing figured it was similar to the effect corrected by ”Pistol Enthusiast,” sometimes causing bullets that otherwise wouldn’t hit to strike the target.

However, he hadn’t noticed this effect clearly, but judging by the outcome, the correction indeed played a role.

As soon as Su Changxing raised his gun, he began drawing his bow, the arrow sliding smoothly along the string without any pause.

Su Changxing was quite familiar with this feeling and the act of shooting arrows.

[You have been marked]

A hint of danger rose in his heart.
