Chapter 214: Chapter 213: The Unlucky Balancer

[Half Twisted Humans (Extraordinary): Balancer Tier Nine, Middle Rank, Cautious, Healthy. Balancers are adept at finding the equilibrium between strength and weakness.]

Just a middle-ranked Hunter.

This was the leader among them, presumably the strongest as well.

In an instant, Su Changxing appeared in front of him, his blade raised high, carrying a decisive momentum of a kill.

The eyes of the man in the trench coat suddenly widened in the moonlight, not expecting Su Changxing to attack him directly from above with such ghostly speed.

He didn’t panic, instead showing a confident smile, unafraid of anyone in close combat.

A so-called Balancer grows stronger with stronger opponents.

”Clang~”

The blades collided with a shower of sparks.

Su Changxing showed a trace of surprise in his eyes, not expecting this person’s strength to not be much weaker than his; the opponent only took two small steps back.

The man in the trench coat was even more surprised, feeling a sense of inadequacy, evidently that the opponent had surpassed the limits of his balancing ability.

”Very strong~”

Su Changxing said lightly, taking a small step back as a shadow flew over from above, heading towards the man in the trench coat.

He surmised that the Balancer’s ability was for close combat, although the exact mechanism was unclear, the opponent relied on this ability to confront him in close quarters.

Decisively, he decided to let the Monkey King restrain this person first while he went to deal with the other weaker Hunters.

Speaking of other abilities the Monkey King possessed, its defensive capabilities were top-notch, able to withstand attacks even from the Screamer; it should handle a Hunter’s attack without issue.

Meanwhile, the people lying in ambush on the first floor received the signal, rushing out to surround the Hunters, emboldened by Su Changxing’s leadership, showing no fear.

Only then did the man in the trench coat notice the Monkey King flying overhead, showing a look of panic, completely losing the composure he had facing Su Changxing earlier.

”Bang~”

The Monkey King decisively slammed the man in the trench coat to the ground, kicking away a nearby Zombie.

Are you holding back?

Su Changxing showed a look of astonishment; given the Hunter’s earlier display of strength, he should have been able to handle the Monkey King, but suddenly seemed to have wilted.

This must be some kind of weakness in his abilities.

The ”True Knowledge” information fluctuated.

[The inherently unstable balance was disrupted by a third party, plunging him into a state of chaos, unable to use his abilities temporarily]

So, it was due to a change of opponent?

Su Changxing turned and slashed at the burly man, noticing a wound indeed on his chest, left by an arrow.

The burly man’s face turned grave, feeling the pressure from Su Changxing, he shouted, ”Let’s take him together.”

Su Changxing’s blade was faster than he anticipated, slicing across his body before he could raise his blade to block.

”Slash~”

Su Changxing swung his blade from top to bottom, carrying a trace of blood, neatly severing the man’s left arm.

No scream of agony as expected.

This person seemed devoid of pain, letting the blood flow freely, as his other hand punched towards Su Changxing, with a desperate intent.

But to Su Changxing, it wasn’t desperation.

Su Changxing sidestepped to dodge, simultaneously slicing the man’s throat, decapitating him before the punch could land.

The Monkey King kept the man in the trench coat subdued, punching him continuously.

The other three Hunters were locked in combat with over ten people from the gathering site.

Within a blink, a person already had an axe buried in their chest by a woman, and another clubbed on the head, causing blood to spill, collapsing on the spot.

The scene was very gruesome, the strength on both sides was not on the same level.

However, it served as a good enough distraction, giving Su Changxing room to maneuver.

After beheading the man, Su Changxing immediately moved towards the nearest woman to kill.

This female Hunter was wrapped tightly, leaving only her eyes exposed, as if hiding some dark secret beneath.

The moment Su Changxing reached behind her, she reacted, turning and swinging her axe with agility.

”A bit slow to react.”

A cold voice came, as a blood-red blade protruded from her abdomen.

The woman stood frozen, unsure of how Su Changxing had silently appeared behind her, evading her perception.

Su Changxing withdrew the blade, kicking the woman to the ground, her mask was torn off, revealing an extremely hideous face, with large patches of decayed skin, not much different from a Zombie, except her eyes remained human.

Without any hesitation.

Su Changxing leaned down and swung his blade again, ending her life, scarlet blood splattering on the dark ground.

With two companions dead and their leader being overpowered by the Monkey King, the remaining two lost their will to fight, turning to flee.

At this moment, Geng Yong was among the team, seeing the two escape, a gleam flashed in his eyes, and an invisible force field appeared in the space around the two fleeing Hunters.

This was his ability, Deathbind Prison, allowing him to project a powerful force field in space to block the movement of enemies, but it could only prevent them from escaping, only when the enemies were fleeing could he use it.

Since previously they’d only encountered Zombies, and Zombies wouldn’t run away, he never got the chance to use his ability.

As for the name, he came up with it himself, thinking it sounded pretty cool to have a name for the ability.

Su Changxing however felt it had a strong second-rate feel, even the ”True Knowledge” information changed, the ability now had a name.

Seeing the opponents flee, Su Changxing and his group were invigorated, over ten people swung their weapons as they charged, the two Hunters’ movements were impeded, drastically slower, so they had to turn around and fight back.

Soon, a gust of wind exploded among the crowd, sending many people retreating, while a few at the forefront fell to the ground.

[Windrider, Middle Rank, Manipulates the power of wind, insufficient power.]

The destructiveness of the Windrider seemed far less than that of the Arsonist or the Extreme Thunderer, but its range and distance far exceeded the two.

Su Changxing, braving the wind, coat billowing, approached the two Hunters, lowering his blade.

The Windrider was in the midst of creating a gale, but could only watch as the blade neared, hoping his companion would block it for him.

But just then, the force field of the Deathbind Prison disappeared, the other Hunter’s eyes lit up, and he turned to sprint away, abandoning his companion in danger.

Su Changxing’s blade pierced the heart of the Windrider, decisively finishing him, then turned to the fleeing Hunter, revealing a hint of puzzled expression.

Subsequently, an invisible force field reappeared around the fleeing Hunter.
