Chapter 215: Chapter 214: Hunter and Prey

Under the influence of the force field, the Hunter’s speed slowed by thirty percent. After taking down the Windrider, Su Changxing caught up in the span of a breath.

[Angry Striver, Middle Rank, Fear, Healthy. When in a state of anger, strength will significantly increase]

This person has actually been promoted once, with a prefix before his position, but he’s still just Middle Rank, so his strength shouldn’t be too strong.

The Hunter sensed Su Changxing catching up and had no choice but to turn and counterattack, his face showing an angry expression, with muscles and veins bulging on his exposed arms outside the leather armor.

The information from ”True Knowledge” indicates his emotion has shifted from fear to anger.

He forcibly made himself angry, significantly boosting his strength, and swung a massive steel rod towards Su Changxing.

His strength is formidable, even among Hunters, standing out. Few can withstand his all-out strike, easily smashing a person’s skull with one blow.

Su Changxing felt the power from the steel rod, took a small step back to dodge it, and swung a saber in a reverse grip to make a horizontal slash at the opponent.

Now, with considerable experience and combat skills, fighting isn’t just about brute force; it’s more of a comprehensive contest of qualities.

However, the opponent was also quite seasoned. Missing one hit, he pressed forward, swinging the rod again with a roaring wind.

This strike was rushed, with less force than before.

It should have been the right decision, but to Su Changxing it was undoubtedly seeking death, leaving no room for retreat, filled with fatal flaws, like a final desperate struggle before death.

He unleashed a powerful slash with both hands, muscles in his arms suddenly tensing, arms swinging in a perfect arc like a clock.

”Clang~”

The sound of metal vibrating.

The Hunter felt the immense force transmitted through the steel rod but managed to hold it firmly without letting go. Blood oozed from his cracked hands as his arm recoiled.

A noticeable notch appeared on the edge of the steel saber, caused by the steel rod.

Su Changxing also felt a slight numbness in his arm. Indeed, the opponent’s strength was great, likely above level four, or even approaching five.

Quite terrifying strength, but still not a match for Su Changxing.

This was sheer physical domination, with eighteen enhancements equating to an upper-level ability.

After a slight pause, Su Changxing’s face faintly smiled as he raised his hand and slashed again, striking the open space in front of the opponent.

This was the final kill in the small contest.

”Ah!!”

With a scream, the Hunter slowly fell, his face covered in blood, still showing a hint of anger and a trace of fear.

Geng Yong and the others had just arrived to see Su Changxing already having slain the Hunter, feeling his incomparably formidable strength.

Is this the Extraordinary?

A light flickered across Geng Yong’s eyes, his desire for the Extraordinary growing stronger, not just to survive, but also yearning for power.

This can also be considered a part of human nature.

The apocalypse made everyone understand that those without strength cannot control their fate and can at most choose a dignified way to die.

Su Changxing looked at Geng Yong and thought for a moment: ”Did you do it on purpose just now?”

The force field suddenly disappeared, it must have been voluntarily canceled by Geng Yong.

Geng Yong nodded and said: ”Yes, if I interrupted the ability, this person would definitely try to escape, thus separating the two of them.”

Very accurate psychological grasp, it seems Geng Yong hadn’t spent less time pondering his ability, already thinking of various applications.

Su Changxing picked up the Extraordinary Crystal from the corpse with one hand, looked in the direction of the Monkey King, and saw that the Balancer had been hacked to death in a frenzy with the help of several people and Monkey King, saying:

”Let’s go directly to Huang Biao and the others, it’s not far from here, and yes, time waits for no one.”

Su Changxing walked over, noting the wounds on Monkey King reopened again, but it seemed more excited. It probably wasn’t a big problem, so he said:

”You go directly to Zhu Wenwu and the others, I’ll deal with the people here and catch up.”

There must be some form of communication among these Hunters, it’s dangerous at Zhu Wenwu’s side, and having Monkey King there is an additional layer of protection.

Others can die, but not Zhu Wenwu, as he is Extraordinary, and each Extraordinary is extremely valuable to them, also being the foundation of the Extraordinary era.

Then, Su Changxing started running alone towards Huang Biao’s position first. At this moment, time equals life, with no room for any delay.

As he approached, he heard the sounds of killing coming from the street ahead, attracting the nearby zombies to converge here.

The battle was fierce, with both sides about equally matched in strength.

Six Hunters and people from the settlement were engaged in a melee, with over a dozen corpses on the ground, including a Hunter who was still not completely dead.

Huang Biao’s group’s situation wasn’t very good; they seemed evenly matched in numbers, but each opponent had formidable individual strength.

However, if more casualties occurred, their side could collapse at any moment.

Fortunately, Su Changxing had arrived in time and immediately joined the fray from behind, inserting himself seamlessly into the team, without attracting any attention.

These Hunters were retreating in an orderly manner, clearly experienced in fighting while outnumbered.

The most troublesome was a Hunter with a metallic sheen covering his entire body, extraordinarily tough, impervious to blades and bullets, with Zhou An’s flying sabers unable to harm him in the slightest as he barreled through the crowd.

Su Changxing immediately recognized his position as Steel Hardener, having encountered it before. Soon, a steel hammer appeared in his hand, and he came straight to the back of the Steel Hardener, striking down with the hammer.

”Clang~”

Su Changxing’s hammer struck a clear dent on the Steel Hardener’s back, with the sound of bones breaking.

Followed by a scream nearby.

The Steel Hardener fell to the ground, struggling. The unbearable pain was evident on his face, this level of attack exceeded his tolerance limit.

Su Changxing brought down the hammer again on his face, as if forging iron, the weight of the iron hammer was more than three times that of a steel saber, exponentially increasing the resultant force.

”Clang~”

Another loud metallic crash.

The Steel Hardener’s head shattered, dying miserably, as the metallic sheen on his skin faded.

The remaining five Hunters watched in shock as Su Changxing so effortlessly dispatched the Steel Hardener. The Steel Hardener was a synonym for survival toughness, not strong, but undeniably tough.

This team of Hunters was slightly larger, but their overall strength didn’t seem as formidable as the previous group, at least lacking an odd position like the Balancer.

Huang Biao stood at the forefront, fighting alongside a few others against a Hunter. Despite undergoing six enhancements, he was still far from matching the opponent, but thankfully he wasn’t alone.

This Hunter was extremely fast, often attacking in unexpected ways, but due to Zhou An’s presence, he couldn’t fully unleash his power and had to constantly be wary of Zhou An’s moves.

The deceased Hunter previously had fallen to Zhou An’s stealth attack.

The subtle and swift flying sabers could easily catch them off guard and once injured they became a breach point to be overwhelmed by others’ onslaught and die.

These Hunters faced the ambush by the settlement’s people without ever contemplating retreating, nor has there ever been a situation where hunters feared their prey, even if these prey gathered to resist.

Su Changxing carried a saber, passed through the crowd, flanking Huang Biao, swiftly slashing at the Hunter, his movements swift.

”Swoosh~”

Blood spurted like a column, drenching the faces of the surrounding people.

Before anyone could react, Su Changxing cleaved the Hunter’s head open from the side, as effortlessly as slaying a zombie, elegantly.

This was the effect of a sneak attack, and it wouldn’t have been so easy if confronted directly.

Zhou An, holding a flying saber in one hand, wiped the blood from his face with the other:

”Truly brutal, was that to intimidate the enemy?”

Another Hunter fell.

With Su Changxing’s arrival, having cut down two Hunters in succession, the situation drastically changed, putting them at an absolute advantage.

The roles of prey and hunter are always relative.
