Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Here’s the entire course of events and my suspicions.”

Lin Haifeng recounted everything that happened at the Yanjing Assembly Site along with his thoughts to Wen Yu, observing Wen Yu lost in contemplation, Lin Haifeng slightly furrowed his brow.

Somehow, Wen Yu’s reaction seemed off...

In truth, the information Wen Yu received from Bai was far more expansive than Lin Haifeng’s random guesses. However, once Bai pointed out Wen Yu’s stance issue, Wen Yu had to reassess his relationship with the Yanjing Assembly Site.

It’s complex, not something that can be explained in a few words, but it’s always wise to have an ace up your sleeve.

Seeing Lin Haifeng’s frown deepening, knowing that Lin Haifeng was becoming suspicious, Wen Yu decisively abandoned his pretense of pondering and directly confronted the topic.

”How about you help me analyze the whole matter then, what’s the problem, the difficulty, and how should we solve these issues.”

Identifying problems, solving problems, a simple and efficient approach.

The trust in Wen Yu’s words allowed Lin Haifeng to breathe a sigh of relief. Since he had already antagonized Tang Two, Lin Haifeng naturally needed to firmly bind Wen Yu to the Yanjing chariot.

So, the old man spoke.

”The first issue, the betrayal of the demigod and Walter...”

”There’s no need to tell me that.”

Wen Yu interjected, interrupting Lin Haifeng’s so-called first issue.

”This problem has nothing to do with me; it’s your internal matter. Anyway, due to the consequences of this incident, I find it necessary to send more personnel to oversee everything in Eternal Sky City. Also, you should dismantle the defense system against Soul Puppets you set up; I will place a Cloud Puppet in Eternal Sky City, well, that’s it.”

The relationship between Wen Yu and the Yanjing Assembly Site is collaborative rather than hierarchical; Lin Haifeng hopes to maintain the independence of the Yanjing Assembly Site, thereby weakening Wen Yu’s influence — it shows that although Wen Yu and Lin Haifeng belong to a cooperative relationship, they continuously conduct a certain degree of vigilance towards each other.

However, it has been proven that there are loopholes in the Yanjing Assembly Site’s defense system, and the significance of Eternal Sky City to Wen Yu is self-evident; it is time for Wen Yu to get involved in Yanjing’s internal affairs...

Hearing Wen Yu’s response, Lin Haifeng gently tapped the table with his fingers and sighed after a while.

”Okay, but you must guarantee you’re just responsible for monitoring.”

”Okay!”

Wen Yu nodded in agreement, as for whether he would do something else...

The Cloud Puppet, one of Wen Yu’s strongest Soul Puppets, is filled with Creation Energy. After the incident, Wen Yu deemed it necessary to strengthen his hand, moreover, Wen Yu’s position was extremely awkward – friend or foe with Yanjing was still undetermined, and with Eternal Sky City under Lin Haifeng’s control, Wen Yu was not at ease — who knows when this guy might be swayed by Earth’s will.

Well, transforming Eternal Sky City into a Soul Puppet now seems like a good option, just not sure if this process would affect the functionality of Eternal Sky City... However, considering the situation now, Wen Yu can’t be too concerned.

Lin Haifeng decisively placed the Cloud Puppet into Eternal Sky City, aside from compromise, it’s likely due to confidence in his own method. Maybe he believes Creation Energy couldn’t strip away his control permissions — Lin Haifeng could probably guess Wen Yu’s intentions, in this regard, it will depend on each other’s means.

”The second issue, Tang Haofei, now I don’t need to conceal it from you, for years I’ve been trying to awaken Tang One, considering this incident, I think the one that wakes up is most likely Tang One; with Tang Two’s personality, it would make no sense to spare me during withdrawal, but I’m not certain about this; assuming the worst, it’s Tang Two... do you have a way to deal with him...”

”Yes!”

Wen Yu firmly nodded: ”Tang Haofei’s Challenger trial is all used up, only one resurrection skill remains. As long as he has only this one resurrection ability, no matter how strong he becomes, I have ways to handle him.”

”He might find a second resurrection ability.”

”The possibility is high, so resolving Tang Haofei’s issues should be as swift as possible!”

Upon saying this, Wen Yu shifted the topic towards Lin Haifeng and asked: ”Where are they now?”

”I don’t know; Sky Eye System detected their retreat towards the Pacific Ocean direction, but they disappeared once they touched the coast. The locator installed in Tang Haofei’s blood has also failed; I can’t find Tang Haofei’s specific location.”

”Moreover, according to my inference, if Earth’s will is supporting them, I’m afraid we have no means to pinpoint their location.”

After Lin Haifeng spoke, Wen Yu also nodded in agreement; Earth’s will wouldn’t leave any loopholes during the wrap-up. However, whatever the enemy does is irrelevant to Wen Yu — knowing the probability of locating Tang Haofei is low isn’t a reason to cease the search.

”Give me a moment...”

Upon saying this, Wen Yu activated the Soul Battlefield. His Soul Body drifted towards the distant Bohai Bay, while his physical body slumped on the sofa, seemingly asleep.

...

Ten minutes later, Wen Yu’s body twitched briefly and then promptly raised his head.

”Failed?”

Wen Yu nodded, lightly twisting his neck.

”I’ve scoured the entire ocean, no trace of Tang Haofei’s presence; this issue cannot be solved. I can only deploy the Water Puppet Army to monitor the movements in the ocean, though it’s challenging considering the ocean is still the Sea Clan’s territory.”

Failure was expected, concealing a person by Earth’s will is indeed too simple. Nonetheless, for this problem, Wen Yu pre-arranged countermeasures before leaving Heavenly Palace.

”Initiate a Sequence Member-Ranking Battle according to the rules of the last Sequence Member-Ranking Battle; in the arena, it’s absolutely a safe zone. Use this method to probe Tang Haofei’s foundation.”

First meet, then consider alternatives; perhaps through Tang Haofei’s demeanor, one might deduce his current location and discern whether he is Tang One or Tang Two; the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle is undoubtedly a perfect meeting ground.

Upon hearing this, Lin Haifeng agreed as well — the rewards from a Sequence Member-Ranking Battle could even surpass a Super Treasure Land! If not for concerns about Tang Haofei, the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle would have been initiated more than a dozen times now...

”Then let’s settle this matter.”

Wen Yu decisively made the call, with Sequence Number 2’s authority, it’s just a simple task to apply for a Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, while more than half of the top ten Sequence members are in the military, meaning this time Tang Haofei must participate.

”Now let’s discuss the third issue, which is the root of this matter... why does Earth’s will target you?”

Lin Haifeng asked this question with a slightly eerie expression.

And Wen Yu merely innocently shook his head, succinctly uttering three large words: ”I don’t know.”
