Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”That is certainly good.”

Lin Haifeng agreed with a wide smile, then gave Wen Yu a meaningful look.

Wen Yu was unsure of Lin Haifeng’s intentions, but that didn’t impede his self-awareness—compared to Lin Haifeng, Wen Yu figured his own deliberations wouldn’t amount to much; with Lin Haifeng’s intelligence, whatever he comes up with is definitely more reliable.

As Wen Yu remained silent, Lin Haifeng settled the matter of deploying troops with the Sea King and Skyray, then Wen Yu spoke up.

”Given this situation, there’s no point continuing the Council of All Races, right? Hmm, let’s conclude the meeting here for now.”

Wen Yu’s words effectively declared the meeting of all races briefly concluded.

...

Came full of ambition, left with heavy thoughts, silent, this probably reflects the true emotions of the other races.

Skyray and the Sea King went ahead to mobilize troops from their respective races, perhaps intending to head to Australia for some benefits—or other intentions cannot be ruled out, while Wen Yu followed Lin Haifeng and the Demigod straight to headquarters.

Sitting on the soft sofa in the headquarters, Lin Haifeng brewed tea and handed it to Wen Yu, then returned to his seat, a thoughtful expression lingering on his face.

After a while, Lin Haifeng finally spoke, ”Demonic Qi infection... It’s quite troublesome...”

Indeed, it is very troublesome.

Though no one wants to betray the planet that nurtured them, when faced with a life-and-death crisis, how many can discard their own lives and the future of their clan?

On a positive note, betrayal or not could just be half and half...

Wen Yu indeed had some doubts in his mind.

”Why send the Sea Clan and Insect Tribe to Australia? You know, there might be clues about Demonic Qi infection there, and if they discover information related to Demonic Qi infection, things will get tricky.”

Lin Haifeng smiled and shook his head, ”The Sea King is with me, there’s no need to worry much about that. As for the Insect Tribe, I have some thoughts. Wen Yu, you must understand, this kind of thing can’t be concealed. Since the Demon Tribe managed to contact the Kangaroo Tribe, they can certainly contact the Insect Tribe and Sea Clan too. Blocking is not as good as channeling... or let’s say it’s impossible to block this kind of thing.”

Wen Yu nodded, ”I can hide for a while but not forever; I understand the reasoning. This time I want to act and exterminate a tribe to give a warning to other tribes to prevent any chaotic situations from arising in the future.”

”That’s fine.”

Lin Haifeng agreed with Wen Yu’s idea.

”However, rather than deterrence, better methods can be used, like the Insect Tribe control plan or Tiger Tribe control plan...”

As soon as Lin Haifeng finished speaking, Wen Yu suddenly understood, ”You mean?”

”Usually, Skyray has meticulous defenses, but this time, Skyray has to move personally. Anyone would understand that the Kangaroo Tribe siding with the Demon Tribe must have immense benefits. Hmm, there shouldn’t be a better opportunity than this.”

Lin Haifeng appeared relaxed, as if everything was under control, making Wen Yu immediately realize that Lin Haifeng had already devised a full plan in a short time.

”Need any help from me? Although I don’t know how many tools you have to control the Sea King, my Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill can also exert control.”

Lin Haifeng remained silent, he absolutely did not want Wen Yu to interfere—controlling them meant they are Wen Yu’s people, which for Lin Haifeng’s plan is like sewing a wedding dress for Wen Yu. Although Wen Yu hadn’t been keen on controlling these races before, with the appearance of Demonic Qi infection, Wen Yu would definitely change course.

If defending is impossible, then controlling is best. After all, the Demon Tribe alone is headache-inducing enough; human enemies can’t afford to increase.

Looking into Wen Yu’s eyes, Lin Haifeng immediately understood Wen Yu wanted to get involved, so he smiled wryly, ”If I say I don’t want your help, would you not take action?”

Wen Yu shook his head, ”I’ve assessed the severity of the situation; although I dismiss the fighting capabilities of other races, I must ensure they don’t betray us and that the plan succeeds. You can take action, but I must supervise on the side.”

The consumption of Creation Energy needed to control these race kings was negligible in Wen Yu’s eyes, but once controlled, Wen Yu was not adept at handling internal political disputes or maximizing the races’ strength, coupled with Wen Yu’s disdain for their combat capabilities; since Lin Haifeng has the desire to act, it’s not a bad idea to let Lin Haifeng manage this matter.

Wen Yu made a concession—I need not control them, I’m not keen to control them, but I must ensure the plan proceeds smoothly to prevent any mishaps leading to inter-racial enmity.

Once scoffed at, the Sea King control plan unexpectedly became the best means to solve the Demonic Qi infection problem.

Hearing Wen Yu’s words, Lin Haifeng breathed a sigh of relief, ”That’s naturally fine, hmm, this matter...”

”Demigod!”

Lin Haifeng called out, and the Demigod standing in the shadow behind Lin Haifeng immediately stepped forward.

”I’ll leave this matter to you.”

”Understood, Commander, I will complete the task.”

The Demigod’s hoarse voice sounded, Lin Haifeng nodded, then instructed, ”At that time, Wen Yu will be by your side to guard against possible oversights. I’ll give you the tools first, as for cleaning up the Kangaroo Tribe, leave that entirely to you. Also, bring more people who are loyal to Lin Tianxue when you go.”

As Lin Haifeng gave instructions, he took out a plump white worm from the space ring, undoubtedly the very Heart-eating Worm used to control the Sea King before.

Its usage conditions are very stringent; Lin Haifeng had used numerous dark spots to plant the Heart-eating Worm in the Sea King’s wound, but now it seemed unnecessary to go to such lengths...

Since Wen Yu agreed to this, it would suffice to unobtrusively place this item in Skyray’s body...

Thinking of this, Wen Yu couldn’t help but have a change in expression.

”Should we put this into Skyray’s body now? If I act, there won’t be any problem for sure.”

Lin Haifeng smiled and shook his head.

”Skyray left Yanjing long ago.”

The whole plan emerged as Lin Haifeng spontaneously conceived it upon hearing ”Demonic Qi infection,” allowing Skyray to escape.

”What about the remaining races?”

Wen Yu seemed very interested—having learned of the Demonic Qi infection, Wen Yu wouldn’t rely on others’ choices. Facing Lin Haifeng’s ”XX King control plan,” Wen Yu undoubtedly offered his full support.

”The rest aren’t worth worrying about... You must know, the Heart-eating Worm isn’t easy to manage either.”

Lin Haifeng smiled as he refused Wen Yu’s enthusiasm; as for how manageable the Heart-eating Worm actually is, and how many clans Lin Haifeng secretly controlled over these years, that remains an unknown.
