Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

These factions, these forces in Yanjing...

In Wen Yu’s eyes, of course, they are not worth mentioning. Wen Yu doesn’t even have the mood to pay attention to such messy affairs, except for knowing that Lin Tianxue is stirring things up in Yanjing, regarding Lin Tianxue’s forces or which powerful experts she has allied with, Wen Yu knows nothing.

But today, when Qin Tian and the others visited, Wen Yu recognized Lin Tianxue at a glance.

In other words... Qin Tian is nominally affiliated with the military, but in reality, he’s Lin Tianxue’s lackey.

Well, as for Lin Tianxue, Wen Yu himself doesn’t have any peculiar view—she hasn’t infringed on Wen Yu’s interests, hasn’t offended Wen Yu, and hasn’t shown any signs of extreme reactions (like awakening Tang Haofei). In Wen Yu’s eyes now, Xiao Xue is just an inconspicuous little role, at most a known acquaintance...

However, known acquaintances don’t hold much significance to Wen Yu. Even Lin Tianxue’s position in Wen Yu’s mind is less than Sun Xuewei... In conclusion, Xiao Xue is entirely irrelevant to Wen Yu, and thus, Qin Tian siding with Lin Tianxue doesn’t evoke any extra thoughts from Wen Yu.

But... old friends reunited, filled with utilitarian motives—what purpose does Lin Tianxue bring accompanied? Is there any need to guess?

Moreover, Arthur’s marriage also stirs Wen Yu’s mood—people like Qin Tian are just passers-by in his life, and perhaps he is the same in their eyes...

So, reminiscing is impossible, the ambiance isn’t right, even drinks can’t save it. Since it’s like this, let’s talk business... After all, isn’t that what you came here for? Wen Yu gave Qin Tian and the others some face, Xiao Xue wants to say something to him, fine, then I shall listen.

Xiao Xue stayed silent, she also realized the atmosphere was a bit awkward today, tried hard but couldn’t utter a word...

”Do you want me to speak up for you? Help your son suppress Kuangliu’s son? Help your son become Lin Haifeng’s successor?”

Even without her saying, Wen Yu could guess Lin Tianxue’s purpose.

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s words, Lin Tianxue was astonished...

The annotation for Lin Tianxue’s mood should be ”How does he know?”

Seeing Lin Tianxue’s reaction, Wen Yu sighed in his heart...

”With your demeanor, it’s a wonder you can contend with Lin Haifeng. If it weren’t for you being Old Lin’s daughter and his only descendant, you’d be ten times worse than Tang Haofei! A hundred times worse than me!”

Wen Yu scoffed in his heart, but what he spoke wasn’t that offensive, only reminding Lin Tianxue: ”All these matters, Lin Haifeng knows.”

Lin Tianxue was silent for a moment, then suddenly smiled.

”Indeed, after all, he’s my father, a father understands his daughter best, doesn’t he?”

”Therefore, you’d better give up sooner and apologize; you’re still the big princess of Yanjing Assembly Site.”

Wen Yu was about to say that, but Lin Tianxue spoke first.

”But none of this matters anymore, Lord Wen Yu...”

Lin Tianxue’s gaze was intense, blocked Wen Yu’s words.

”Honestly speaking, Brother Wen Yu, I just don’t want my son to be suppressed by others, but my father is too biased! Can you understand a mother’s feelings?”

Sorry, I’m a man, so I can’t understand...

”In this world, ultimately, it’s the powerful who call the shots. Since you know my purpose, then you surely know who I’ve allied with now, but it’s still not enough, far from enough, compared to my father, the power I wield is too insufficient, the authority of speech is too insignificant... But there’s still you, Brother Wen Yu!”

”I firmly believe, as long as you speak up, no matter what my father thinks, he will definitely act according to your wishes.”

Wen Yu stayed silent, but muttered in his heart, idiot...

Yet in Lin Tianxue’s eyes, Wen Yu was in thought, so Lin Tianxue, without hesitation, added what she believed was a valuable bargaining chip!

”Brother Wen Yu, think about it, Kuangliu died by your hand, to Lin Que, you’re a father-killer. My father has deep calculations, he might ignore these for the righteous cause of the Human Race, but who knows what Lin Que thinks? If you can speak up to support my son Fang Yuqiong, I’ll make Fang Yuqiong acknowledge you as his godfather.”

”Moreover, once Yuqiong can lead Yanjing, under Yuqiong’s leadership, Yanjing will unwaveringly stand by your side, take your words as strategic guidelines, and every year offer large tributes to Brother Wen Yu. I believe neither I nor Yuqiong will ever let you down!”

After Lin Tianxue finished, she kept her eyes on Wen Yu, trying to discern his emotions from his face.

Then, she saw a smile...

The smile grew wider; Wen Yu laughed heartily, until Lin Tianxue’s face paled, the atmosphere grew more awkward, Wen Yu then stopped smiling...

”Is this all you can offer me?”

Lin Tianxue swallowed spit, nodded lightly.

”Firstly, about being a godfather... I don’t even want to have children myself, so why bother getting a son? Just like that?”

”Secondly, about the supposed avenger... haha, I think the successor Lin Haifeng chooses wouldn’t be such an idiot...”

”Third, about your so-called tribute...”

”Tsk tsk...”

Wen Yu looked at Lin Tianxue with a contemptuous gaze, then spoke slowly.

”Do you know what Lin Haifeng has given me? Do you know what Lin Haifeng’s bargaining chip is?”

Lin Tianxue stayed silent...

”He gave me peace, he gave me a stable development space.”

Wen Yu changed his posture, hands resting on the table, directly stared at Lin Tianxue.

”Compared to Lin Haifeng, you’re really too naive. You just said this world respects the powerful, which I don’t deny, because this world is precisely that way, but you aren’t aware of one thing, which is the thoughts of the powerful, the mentality of the powerful, and the desires of the powerful!”

”You completely don’t understand what I need, you entirely can’t see the true face of this world... You can only see my words carrying weight, my undefeated presence, yet you can’t see what’s behind me, the source of my strength!”

”My strength originates from peace, from the stability created single-handedly by Lin Haifeng!”

”Star of Africa provides me tremendous profits each month, this profit is the very foundation of my strength, and the essence of Star of Africa is just a marketplace! I’m the seller, professionists are the buyers!”

”Precisely because there’s peace and stability, the professionists’ group can grow strong, I have plenty of business to do, and maintain rapid strengthening pace.”

”I can do this too.”

Lin Tianxue made one last struggle...

”I know you can too, anyone can, just by maintaining Lin Haifeng’s governance model, my profits are unshakable, but this raises another question, why should I help you...”

”Do you know why I laughed at you earlier? Your so-called bargaining chip, in my eyes, isn’t worth mentioning at all. You said Yanjing would stand by me, you said you’d offer annual tributes... Do you think Yanjing isn’t already standing by me now? Or do you think I value Yanjing’s power? And the tributes, that’s the most laughable, my businesses are done with mutant beasts already, the whole world’s professionists have to work for me! What capital do you have to offer tributes? Giving me Yanjing? I don’t even want that burden...”

”Honestly, you’d better be content as your Yanjing big princess, huh, your level, compared to Lin Haifeng really isn’t close!”

Wen Yu’s words were blunt, undoubtedly shattering Lin Tianxue’s last illusions, her face turned pale, stammering unable to say anything, until Wen Yu waved his hand.

”Don’t bother with the meal, go back and think it over.”

Wen Yu might as well have said ”get lost,” but Lin Tianxue isn’t someone who clings on, she bowed to Wen Yu, then stumbled towards the door.

Qin Tian and the others glanced at each other, ultimately followed Lin Tianxue and left together.

...

PS: Please consider the relationships between these characters, what has Wen Yu relied on for rapid development these five years? Stability, plundering the whole world...

Always be prepared...

Directly kill Lin Tianxue...

Lin Haifeng can’t confront Wen Yu, so can Wen Yu confront Lin Haifeng? In case Lin Haifeng is pushed on edge, and directly destroys the teleportation channel of Eternal Sky City, without incoming professionists, what business does Star of Africa do? How much would Wen Yu’s development speed decrease?

Moreover, although Lin Tianxue might seem brainless, if Tang Haofei is released, what consequences will occur, do you think she wouldn’t know? Yanjing being completely destroyed is minor, once Yanjing is gone, her ambition naturally loses its foundation, in other words, Lin Tianxue awakening Tang Haofei is merely the worst-case scenario anticipated, but the actual possibility of occurrence doesn’t exist, it fundamentally doesn’t stand.

Killing Lin Haifeng’s ”only remaining” next generation for a near-nonexistent possibility... then Star of Africa is sealed, Wen Yu is enraged striking Yanjing, Lin Haifeng destroys Eternal Sky City before dying, hence Wen Yu’s development speed decreases by ninety-nine percent...

Do you think such a plot aligns with Wen Yu’s character?

This arc’s plot is meticulously crafted, I’ve considered everything, so don’t blindly guess, many things are hidden beneath the surface, yet actually have traces.
